Versense by Versace is a Woody Floral Musk fragrance for women. Versense was launched in 2009. Top notes are Bergamot, Citruses, Green Mandarin, Fig and Pear; middle notes are Cardamom, Lily, Jasmine and Narcissus; base notes are Virginia Cedar, Musk, Olive Tree and Sandalwood.

This modern fragrance of a beautiful and rare floral bouquet is composed of elements of the Mediterranean and it represents Versace woman perfectly with its authentic expression and a fusion of freshness and energy. The new fragrance by the house of Versace was named Versace Versense and it promises a lot with its name and composition. It is created for irresistible experience for all senses.

The fragrance Versace Versense is composed of natural tones and it is a picture of awakening of nature, evoking feeling of freedom, movement and balance of internal energy with surroundings and nature. Versense is a walk in a fragrant garden, which contributes to freshness and a stream of feelings, as well as to self-esteem and vitality.

Its composition opens with fruit of the Mediterranean: bergamot and green mandarin, and wraps you with freshness and luminous, optimistic accords with irresistible fig zests. Pleasure will rise with sparks of citruses mixed with fruity aromas. They will take us to a heart ruled by sea lily, rare flower with rare aromas, strengthened with jasmine petals and bitter-spicy accords of cardamom in an elegant way. Base notes leave a cover of woody accords of sandalwood, cedar, olive wood and sensual musk.

Flacon of this perfume is made of see-through glass, created just like its antecedent from 2008, Versace. It is coloured in light green, it is luxurious and decorated with traditional Versace symbols. The new eau de toilette is accompanied with a 200 ml perfumed bath, 200 ml perfumed body milk and 75 ml deo spray. EDT Versace Versense is available in amounts of 30, 50 and 100ml (1, 1.7 and 3 oz) edt. Advertising face for Versense is Toni Garrn, and photographer is Michelangelo di Battista.

Ugh makes me wanna puke. Too expensive. Don´t know what I was thinking when I bought this.

PhantomBelle

All I really get is lemon from this, and it's more in line with lemony candy with also a lemon floor cleaner vibe. However, I did get it from Amazon so it could very well be a fake, and I'm not smelling the true perfume.

Regardless, this will be a shelf decoration for me. Purchased from: Amazon

Kekekie

I like this one, although I would not compare it to Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche, which to me, has more musc and lasts longer. This one is very very citrucy. It is nice but I wonder if I will buy the full bottle.

scottgiles86

A very slightly more feminine version of Man Eau Fraiche or Chrome sport. A great white t-shirt scent for men or women.

_Aerides

As usual with Fragrantica they've mistranslated the notes from somewhere and we went along with it smh 😭 I got a sample with the proper notes listed:

Top: Bergamot, Green Mandarin and Nopal Fruit🌵 we call them "tunas" in spanish, in english however the plant and its parts are called "Prickly PEAR" or "Indian FIG" so I guess this is why fig and pears are listed as separate notes even though there is a Prickly Pear note page in fragrantica.

Mid: Sea Daffodil, Cardamom, Jasmine

Base: Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Olive Tree, Musk

As for the scent and rant aside I don't think I detect any prickly pear fruit lol. To me it's a bright citrus scent that dries into a creamy and soft jasmine. Further on the drydown after the citruses fade it reminds me a little of Palmolive Olive soap and for my personal taste it gets a slightly outdated vibe. It's a simple but well made and pleasant perfume, projection is soft but you get whiffs through the life of it and it also lasts well 👌

anniebliss

Lovely perfume to wear everyday, crisp, inoffensive and clean. It's not sexy or seductive, it's peaceful. I'd recommend it to someone who wants to smell fresh but also want a soft warm hug. I can smell more citrus and wood/spice notes than floral but they are here.
I don't get olive tree note, perhaps I'm too familiar with the smell (I'm from region known for olives) so I don't recognise it.
I enjoyed every drop of it and I found myself mostly wearing it after rain regardless of season.

ilu2death

this scent is beautiful! i strongly believe that if it works with your body chemistry, it'll work in every season.

most suitable for summer nights and intimate spaces. very green, like jasmine and narcissus that've just been rained on. there is just a whisper of woodiness— everything else is purely fresh and clean.

almost feels 2000s and modelesque, like an ad campaign full of heavily photoshopped shirtless people in a pond or something

signature: tapestry, seventeen magazine, orange juice by the pool
occasions: outdoors, girls night
complimentary scents: almond

An excellent choice for summer in the office, which avoids smelling like an air freshener mostly by virtue of the woody base. If I'm honest, I'm not sure that I get the florals.
I carry my 50ml bottle around with me so I can re-apply as it does wear off after a few hours. I also like to layer it with Queen of Seduction, so that I get an aquatic note underneath it all.

Scentfrommanna

Someone was wearing this in the opticians today when I was having my eyes tested. It’s currently winter in the UK, today it’s freezing cold, and I didn’t expect to smell this at this time of year but I have to say it did not feel out of place, just unexpected and quite lovely at that.

I do think this is a gem for the price, I’ve picked it up twice for a steal, the first time I did my mum claimed it for her own and that was that! It smells so expensive and classic. Granted, it’s nothing spectacular, but it’s perfect for any setting where you want to smell nice but not choke everyone else with mega sillage or controversial notes.

I cannot discern any particular notes, what I like about this is that the citrus isn’t too screechy. I think it might be the pear and fig smoothing everything out. I’m more of a gourmand/spice/amber perfume lover, and never really get on with fresh/aquatic perfumes but this is lovely.

bajablast

Described to me as "a masterpiece". Couldn't be further from the truth. Just a citrus smell, strong and punchy, like a lot of Versace perfumes. My boyfriend hated it. I thought it was fine.

annamal

Nice soapy-citrusy smell, pear in the top notes makes lemon smell candy-like, but still fresh. Then come flowers, making it very soft. Overall beautiful smell, but not strong at all, would never buy to wear anywhear outside of gym as the smell is from 2000s, way too outdated, my mother in law wears it. But I still like it.

FlowerSeeker

If you love citrus, this may be for you! Started with big lemon and lime, then quickly morphed into an orange note that reminded me a bit of Murphy’s oil soap. Strong soapy scent after that. The dry down brought soft florals. Citrus all the way through. Too much for me so I’ll pass it along.

SundayGirl07

Definitely green and floral. t's nice and clean, no sharpness. Probably more of a day scent but really, it could be worn at any time. It's just nice soft lovely smell. This is kind of a scent all of it's own. I feel like I haven't smelled anything that smells exactly like this before.

takema

As a fragrance house, I have found Versace pretty disappointing. Nothing I have tried is worth buying at retail prices. Versense falls into this catagory. It is a likeable fragrance, but nothing special. It is widely available at deeply discounted prices. At those prices it is a good buy. I bought my 30ml bottle for $19.99(CAD), and wouldn't pay much more. It's nice, but there are better options if you have a bit bigger budget.

The opening is the best part. It's green and citrusy (mostly lemon) on a dry woody base with a light white floral veil. It is crisp, bright and sunny. Over the first few hours on skin, the brightness of the lemon slowly fades and the white florals intensify. I am disappointed in the drydown, the florals smell a bit cheap and boring with a hint of sour musk in the background. It's too bad the drydown is such a letdown, because it starts so promising.

I was impressed with the performance. Fresh summery fragrances don't often offer a lot in the performance department. Versense delivered pretty well. It lasts on my skin for 6-8 hours. I only really enjoy the first 3-4 hours though. So when I so wear it, I tend to add a spritz to "freshen" it up every few hours. That works well to combat the less pleasant drydown. The projection is fairly soft right from the start. Just strong enough to be noticed by someone standing next to you and never be overwhelming. I get whiffs of it for hours after I apply it.

Versense is a casual, hot weather fragrance. The citrus really shines when worn on a hot day. When I have worn it on cooler days, it just falls a little flat. It works well to wear when going out for a walk on a hot day or just doing errands. It is a feminine fragrance that does have some unisex appeal. The opening and first few hours of wear are pretty unisex. The drydown, when the florals dominate the scent, is much more feminine. The florals are casual and youthful and never feel overly mature.

The bottle is one of Vesaces better designs. Many of their bottles verge on tacky, but this one is very nice. The Vesace branding is there, notably the Medusa medallion, but is still simple and classy. It feels well made with a well fitting cap and good atomizer.

I am not sure if I will keep my bottle. I do wear it occasionally, but I feel like I put it on out of obligation rather than desire to actually wear it. There are other fragrances in the same family that I would rather wear. Ones that smell great on me from beginning to end.

MelindaS

I discovered this while searching for a more budget friendly dupe of Chanel Eau Fraiche. This is a beautiful spring/summer scent. It is bright, chic citrus and woods, with beast mode projection and decent longevity. It can lean a *bit* sharp on the citrus end, and I definitely feel this leans more unisex. I picked this up for just shy of $30 at TJ Maxx, and you can find it fairly cheap. Chanel Eau Fraiche is more airy, while the citrus in this is a bit more dominant. Overall not a bad dupe if you're on a budget.

junimo

Finished a 1.7oz of this a while back and keep finding myself thinking about it or happily sniffing the empty bottle. The fig in this warms my heart.

Any time I'd spray this on around someone, I'd get an "mmm, that smells good!" but never received compliments on it otherwise. Sits close to the skin, but surprisingly lasts a decent amount of time. Would wear this to the lake or a sunshine-laden activity.

MOOD BOOSTER!

Edit: repurchased after learning from these reviews that it’s always on sale at TJMaxx. It’s true! Only freshie I need.

lizziepatricia

When I want to feel perfectly fresh, bright, professional, and I want the fragrance to project, this is my favorite choice. It’s not warm, but it is perfectly fresh with the citrus acidity to it and it smells (and is) perfectly green. I originally had a sample passed to me by a friend and wore it one night when I was bartending, running around in the most sweltering summer heat for hours, and strangers kept stopping me to tell me that I smelled “fresh” or good. I bought the full bottle after that and I really enjoyed the experience of wearing it. I don’t find it sexy in an intentional, close, sweet way, but it is sexy in a fresh, bright, not trying but still nailing it way. It is noticeable and pleasant. It’s like cut green fig leaves and citrus - lemon specifically but not overly lemony. The cut green is not harsh.

Efrosini

Wow. Having grown sick of sweet fragrances, this is a great rediscovery for me. Back in the day when I was young (00s), all fresh perfumes, especially the citrus notes, smelled pretty much the same to me. I remember the era of the mid 00s when almost all perfumes were heavy, like fresh incense, with peppery/aromatic profiles. Very cloying, but we loved it back then. We wanted to be bohemic just like Kate Moss. Needless to say since I was into that kind of heavy stuff, I didn’t care for fresh stuff.
This reminds me of those aromatics, but not in a cloying way. And it’s not all that generic; it really brings me back - but it’s also uplifting and youthful thanks to the freshness. Very wearable and enjoyable. I’ve been searching and exploring more fresh scents recently and this is really great. A new favourite!

HoneySmoke889

Somewhat like an intense, more mature version of Light Blue

KClappity

This pulls very fresh spicy/citrus in the opening for me, which I love. Immediate mood booster. Very clean and put together, even when I am neither. This is more of a warm weather fragrance, but I like it enough that I'll reach for it when I'm piddling around the house during the cooler months too. Smells like summer.

CarmenNola23

The combination of citrus and floral musk give Versense that clean and familiar balance that you can find in many Versace fragrances. It’s linear but that makes it easy to wear, and it’s probably my favorite of all those woody/citrus/ green scents that came out in the late 2000s. Even with a sharp citrus-candy opening, it maintains a floral softness. This doesn’t make it weak tho, quite the opposite as I find it lasts and projects beautifully. It also doesn’t make it gender specific, as I feel anyone could wear it. I think most would say it’s a summer scent, but in my collection it’s an everyday wear.

lavenderincenseluver

My mom gifted this to me, i do like it however it kinda just reminds me of my mom😅 The bathroom would always smell like this perfume when my mom is going out lol. I like to wear it in summer. it’s very citrusy in the opening and i actually like it. Couldn’t see myself wearing this in winter or fall tho. i feel like it’s suitable for nighttime as well, however that might be just bc I associate this scent with my mom going out in the evening😆 i feel like this scent is really easy to like, which i love. it’s very nice and uplifting. + the bottle, like many other versace bottles is very pretty.

ljsmith

My all time favorite summer fragrance. Such an easy wear when it’s 105 Fahrenheit and humid as a buttcrack outside. I live in a swamp climate and even in its absolute Augusty worst, this scent has never let me down. Mature but not elderly, bright but not cloying, so soft, inviting, and citrusy. Versense is perfect for even the most sensitive noses in the most sensory-challenging part of the year. Clean, creamy, and refreshing.

Thykes10

The opening of this one is very citrusy- there's a zesty quality to it. The woody fresh musk comes out more in the drydown which I also really like. I can understand the similarities to the Chance Eau Fraiche. But on me the longevity isn't the best- this lasted about 3 hours before becoming a faint skin scent. I did have a dabber sample though so not sure if the longevity would improve with a sprayer. But splurging on the Chanel might be worth it (for me at least) if it has better longevity.

toosimilar

Nothing special at all
Fresh scent with a hint of something repulsive and mannish (cardamom & narcissus?)
I am surprised it's not left somewhere in the 90-s.
House has much better frags, but I can see an impressive group of downvoters here,
as my former comment got "deleted" and not displayed anymore
While the most beautiful frags go down with their rate, this one is constantly topped
OMG

Peaches&Cream

I really like this fragrance! Smells so clean, citrus and woody on me. It isn’t too strong where it can give me an headache, that’s a plus, plus for me!! Versence is great to wear during spring and throughout the hot periods of summer.

To me this can be unisex. I will be back the next day to determine the longevity and sillage.

PapaTLooch

I was hoping to like this based on the notes and reviews but it’s too sharp, floral and feminine for a man. It also smells too ordinary and “designer” due to the abrasive Ambroxan edge. It's very dated to me and reminds me of what women wore in the corporate offices I worked at in the 90’s. Trust me, this is not for men even though reviewers say it was unisex. It’s cloyingly sweet and smells like cheap shampoo.

Straight To It

This reminds me of sitting in the sun by the salty sea, drinking a lemon lime seltzer. Very refreshing, but also earthy and sweet. The only thing that I feel should not be in this scent is the cardamom...it is trying to fight the citrus and the musk. Perhaps a fennel or pure anise note would have been better as they wouldn't clash so much with the citrus, they'd work with it. However, I am very sensitive to cardamom in foods as well, it is just an adverse sensory experience for me. At any rate, I persisted to the dry down and got to smell the yummy fig and sandalwood that I love so much. However, once more depending on the temperature of the day, the cardamom can overpower the sandalwood note, so it can be abrasive to the nose - I find this usually happens on cooler days waring this. However on warmer days, I smell fig, musk and sandalwood after it all settles down. If you do not like green scents, do not buy. I don't think this is a safe blind buy, but I did as I love Versace and I love green scents.

Bordo

This was one of my first perfumes. And the first I truly adore to this day. It is beautiful, bright sweet, fresh citrus, but in a beautiful way. Not like some lemon but rather bergamot. Very uplifting. Not linear in a sense that there is no specific loud note in it. It has good performance for such scent profile, but I cannot wear it very often as my nose gets blind to it. Anyways, it is a staple for me!!!

mothtoaflame___

Oh, I am so confused! I still love this for sentimental reasons - got so many compliments back in the day, despite it’s quite unisex; but for a while it wears annoyingly sharp on my skin, like it “forgot” to blend with me. I don’t want to drop this ever, but maybe it has to be archived? Also, this is the most relevant Versace release along with Crystal Noir, in my opinion.

Update: Of course this bottle will never leave my collection, I just had a silly olfactory phase hehe.

Lovescents3

Initially strong citrus with some gentle florals to soften the edge of the citrus.
I find freshies can annoy me after a while and this one does not. Very pleasant and slightly feminine from the florals.
Evaporates quickly in the heat however. Only get about 2 to 3 hours out of it before faint skin scent.

rufffus3

Willing to swap. If you are interested please PM me. (Europe).

MelissaKS

Easy to wear summer scent. It’s bright and woody with a hint of florals. Decent longevity for a freshie. One of my favorites for hot days.

Savage1

I have a hard time finding light, fresh scents that I like. I tend to be a dark spicy vanilla patchouli person more than 6 months of the year, but I was looking for some lighter fragrances for summer since dark spicy vanilla patchouli can and usually does smother in summer.

I don't like many "fresh green" scents because the seem screechy and/ or soapy on me many times, and heaven forbid, do not give me a soapy perfume!

Versense starts out on me as a tangy lemon lime, with some definite green notes, stays that way for a little while, but then begins to become slightly sweeter but not too sweet. It has more depth than I thought it might in the mid portion of the dry down. It still stays fresh and light and only has a few minutes of very mild soapiness, but then it is gone! Thank God! The rest of the time it is a light and airy and slightly green joy.

The performance is what I would expect for a citrus forward fragrance. It had about 4-5 hours of continual scent then faded. It's a pleasant 4-5 hours though. I've found at least one very nice summer citrus fragrance! Bring on warm weather!

Toady89

I'm normally go for warm gourmand or fruity floral fragrances, but after testing this and seeing it was on sale I just had to buy a bottle. Its so fresh and clean, the citrus notes are not too sharp or masculine, and for me when it drys down I get a slightly powdery milky scent, which I'm guessing is the fig note. It's so comforting to me and beautiful to wear during the warm weather.

Dlittlegarden

A wooden popsicle stick sitting in a pool of the melted lemon/lime popsicle on a sunny day. Carefree and happy. Completely genderless. Very easy to like.

viktorijavla

Very "lemony", refreshing, happy fragrance.
Simple but classy and inoffensive

noahwjperry01

Lemon hard candy at the very opening! When dry down starts, the woody aspects definitely take the base, the sugar comes through more, and the lemon/bergamot scent are still forefront but have the mids and bases definitely coming through! Great for someone like me who wants a fresh scent for summer but not have grapefruit be the star - i hate grapefruit in perfume LOL! This is lemony bergamot with a white floral musky wood. Don't get me wrong - it definitely has sweet sugary vibes in the citrus - imagine big crystal sugar pieces covering a hard yellow candy with a bit of sour - i don't find this scent tart or bitter which is a HUGE plus as I feel if it was that route - i may not like it as much as i do! Eyes closed and sniffing - I imagine a fairy woodland lady with long wavy hair, a flowy oversized white dress running barefoot through the moss and woods in the middle of summer - that is what i picture when I smell this! I really really enjoy this - more than Eros pour Femme for sure!

Ghadah02

The character of this fragrance is that it is suitable for women who often go to the spa/salon and take care of themselves. I just think of femininity when I smell this.

I often spray this when I'm leaving for my spa appointments and my hair stylist absolutely loves it.10/10

beta-ionone

Lovely and inoffensive. In the same ballpark as other fresh women's perfumes with light florals like Clinique Happy.

Still not 'green' enough for me. But this is office safe so I might use it for work. Great summer scent for those hot and humid days.

xsxcstarx

I am a gourmand lover but this has broadened my horizons-

I wanted a fresh, sparkling scent for spring/summer & this is it! I remember smelling eau fraiche years ago & never wanting to pay the price for it, I then discovered this gem & I actually prefer it.

Hits you with a citrus blast of bergamot & lemon which isnt listed, it settles down a green, fresh scent with a hint of wood. Really long lasting & fresh.

This makes me think of being on the Amalfi Coast in Italy wearing a white dress, going out for evening drinks & a slice of pizza while feeling fresh & glam!

Really lovely fragrance, I recommend!

Brittbritt

Love at first sniff, dry down sniff, and every hour for the rest of the day sniffs<3

So crisp, fresh, earthy, watery, floral. I don't smell much citrus personally but I love it!

AnlisaC

Talk about citrus this smells like someone poured orange juice on me! Now this is not a problem because I love this fresh juicy orange scent on me this is definitely going to be my summer go to! It’s longevity is not great but ok because this so light on fresh. I get no wood in this fragrance what so ever! Compliment getter! Highly recommended 10/10 great for the heat of summer!!

Kuty22

It's a 😍
I wish it lasted longer

Darling of Disquiet

I live in Illinois and just a week and a half ago it snowed.
Finally Easter brought the heat. Finally I got to whip out my "fresh ones".
Usually I'm not looking forward to putting away my heavy dark girls in exchange for my "fresh ones" but this year I was surprised at how much I missed scents like this one. I wore Bella Blanca on Easter as well as yesterday and instead of grabbing another spring has sprung scent I grabbed Versense. I am from Ft. Lauderdale after all, guess this tropical gal is missing home.
Even though I don't love the longevity on this it is a beautiful fragrance. It smells like you should be wearing not much else when it's on your skin. It's refreshing and aquatic imo, would have been an absolute favorite of mine had it been out before I left south Florida. It's definitely a scent that almost cools you down, aka refreshing like I mentioned.
For anyone wanting to try it for spring and summer, it's well worth it. Especially with the markdowns on it I have seen lately, great for hot days ✌️💚

battersbyfiona

Very citrusy at the beginning. dries down to a bit of a woody smell. An overall green/fresh scent. I like it a lot, but it's nothing groundbreaking. Fairly simple, but lovely. Sits somewhat close to the skin. Good for the summer.

ParisLoveXo

aquatic citrus grassy slightly bitter from the fig. easy going … fresh fresh fresh is all i can say … perfect for out the shower or bedtime

Hippocampus24

So I wore this today and someone complimented me! after trying many scents over days I am taking this as a good sign. I like it a lot. I usually don't go crazy for citrus perfumes, but because this one has wood in it, it doesn't get fruity. if anything it is more green and fresh. it dries down to an earthier scent which i also like. Definitely a casual day perfume. So far the longevity isn't bad either for an EDT. Keeper!

whisperology

Fresh fresh fresh. Versense is watery to me, a cool lake surrounded by a grassy, flowery field of citrus trees.

This will shine most in the sweltering heat. I like that it's an EDT so I can kind of douse myself in it lol.

Reasonably priced for the quality - I will repurchase when it runs out.

HoneySmoke889

Gave to my husband. Dry down is too "masculine" for me. But that is simply a personal preference, I do love the citrus opening! 100% unisex imo. Maybe I'll try it in summer and see how it changes!

Karen Campos (EN)

I have found my perfect summer citrus.
Versense is the ideal fragrance to go to work every day in very hot seasons.
It is citric, but its output is not as strident as Light Blue; Versense is a little sweeter, and just as sparkling.
Then the flowers appear, that mixture of lily and Jasmine give it a very refreshing, clean touch and also elegance together with its woody touches. In the background it has a very very slight aromatic/powdery point that makes it different and reaffirms the sobriety of the aroma.
Its wake is magical, it is very aerial and fluctuating, its aromatic chords come and go. I found that feeling very nice.
It's an EDT, so I bring my decant to replicate part-time.

Fatter

One of the best citrus perfumes on the market, niche or designer. You get this very crisp lily, which lends a delicate floralcy. Then, there is a sour citrus fruit. I think the fig is in part responsible for this. I don’t get any cities in particular but it’s not orange or grapefruit. Together these aspects give you a refreshing experience. If you are a fan of Light Blue and Chance Eau Fraiche, definitely give this a try. It feels more unique and substantial.

I can agree with the person who said it gives the impression of a fashion magazine with the perfume samples in the pages. Not that it smells like those perfumes, but I guess it’s the sour, papery smell of the glossy pages mixed with light florals. This description might sound bad but it’s not. It’s vaguely like this.

Also performance is good.

lepx0x

Clean, green and fresh! Just received my bottle today and I was not disappointed! One of my happy blind buys :) as with all Versace perfumes you get that same DNA in the background with a twist of citrus & greens - love it! Perfect for all year around and any occasion but definitely leans more for the summer/spring and although it’s a toilette it lasted a good 6hrs on me!

sherryberry

I just recently acquired a large decant of Versense. Thank you curlykitty8!! At first, it was giving me Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche vibes. Chance Eau Fraiche is one of my favorites. But, now that I'm getting to know Versense better, it's starting to smell like something totally different. Here's the big surprise...it reminds me so much of Avon Haiku, in the dry down. I don't know what it is, but I love, love, love it!! So fresh and clean, and energizing!! It's just what I need in my life right now. I'll be turning 56 nest week, and I've just started a new regimen for my health. I'm intermittent fasting, back to lifting weights at the gym, and taking collagen. The trifecta!! 56 is going to be great, and Versense really goes with the whole aesthetic!!

Fleurie20

This fragrance will truly shine all its magic on a Mediterranean summer day, just as it did when I used it in my early college years when I still lived in a tropical country with scorching sun all year round. It's light, bright and carefree. I purchased a 1.7oz bottle for old times' sake today and it smells exactly how I remember it to be. I live in a much colder climate now so it does not have that wow factor to me anymore, but a beautiful, simple scent regardless.

And of course this can totally be a unisex scent, leaning feminine. No, it does not remind me of Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche at all. The patchouli ruins that stuff.

whodoesyourtaxes

Couldn't agree more with the review saying it smells like pages of a fashion magazine, aka THE scent that I look for in perfumes lol. So clean and fresh with just enough of a citrus hint!

Have been using this perfume ever since I received it as a Christmas gift in 2020. I have received several compliments on this perfume, and it is a light scent that will attract attention when people come near. As someone who dislikes overpowering or very sweet smells, this one worked year-round. I personally have found that when used on winter nights, the notes last much longer on me and they smell their best. The perfume blends well with any soap, lotion, and other products. Only downside is that the perfume does not seem to last long, only 3 hours maximum in the colder months for me.

This is my all time favorite spring/summer fragrance and I highly doubt I will ever find anything that comes close to the love I have for this stuff. I’m in Michigan in the US and it has been cold for months. I’ve been wearing my much adored fall/winter amber/tobacco/vanilla/rum type fragrances that I love so much (Boucheron Ambre D’Alexandrie is my all time favorite fall/winter) but I MISS Versense terribly, so I decided to put it on before bed tonight. This fragrance, I tell you… It makes me instantly happy when I spray it. It makes me see life more optimistically. The mix of citrus and what smells, to me, like the pages of a fashion magazine from when I was a teenager, is just so gorgeous. And it’s a beast for being a freshie. This lasts ages on my clothes. In the summer I will be loading my laundry into the washer and get whiffs of this from clothes that I haven’t worn in days. I can spray it before work and still smell it on myself when I get home. I have tons of perfume and it’s been ages since I finished a bottle, because I tend to wear something different everyday, but once I found this and spring hit last year, there is only the tiniest bit left in the bottle. Of course I have a backup bottle, in its box, just waiting to be called to duty. I NEVER want to exist on this Earth during warm weather without this fragrance. That may be dramatic for such an easy reach, uncomplicated scent, but it’s the truth.

arizonaruby

I first tested this in cold weather and it smelled very green and citrusy - almost like lemon scented cleaning products. It was ok but I didn’t think it was that nice. I tried it again recently in warm weather and now I can get more of the floral and woody notes, so it smells more complex and less like a straight up citrus. It’s definitely still a crisp summery frag but has some warmth to it which is quite lovely.

NataliePee

This is a very beautiful fragrance but also very serious. It would be an insult to it’s sophistication for my clownyass to wear it.

AlienKitty

Smells like Citrus juice, i would wear it on summer

EuniceMine

I really want to understand how some people get more than 5 hours on this, I spray and 30 minutes 1 hour at the most is what I get. It smells beautiful yes, very similar to Chanel eau Fraiche I agree, perhaps 90% similar and half the price, but it just doesn’t project on me, I ordered mine through Amazon and was told it is Original, so it might just be me that doesn’t smell this after an hour at most, but anyways , the perfume itself is beautiful. Green, fresh flowery spring summer scent. Just not worth the 60 dollars I paid for me and it makes me sad because I was really looking forward to loving this

geelightning

leans unisex. good but basic summer/spring freshie.

kittywhiskers

Gorgeous, soft, green, and unisex scent that lasts a good 10 hours when sprayed liberally on clothes. Only downside is that I wish it projected more, it becomes an intimate skin scent after like 30 mins, so that was kind of disappointing, especially considering how lovely this is. Drydown is lime and musk. I get D&G Light Blue vibes from this.

projectalice345

I love the like citrus notes I just wish the rest of the frag was toned down. I hardly wear it because of the strong chemical like notes but I love how they captured lime I wish I could just wear that one scent.

Mona708

So far, I like this scent the most of all the Versace scents I’ve tried. It’s bright and tart with the woody notes grounding the tar fruity ones. This would be a great work-friendly scent.

I want to write something and I do not know what and this is strange and unusual to me so maybe this is going to be a review in progress.
And I suggest this is a part of the review itself saying alot on its own.
I vote this unisex. Yes, it tends to lean slightly more feminine (is it?) but not much and surely there are sharp masculine notes. Males could pull this very successfully out.
It is not listed in the pyramid but I sense a tiny bit of honey here. Just a trace to add some slight sweetness to the sharp notes. As If you are sipping lovely herbal tea with some honey drops.
It is strange to me that this scent is compared to many other popular rivals of the same kind but none mentioned the first and only FK's EA Green Tea. Surely the inspiration and similarity are there. Considering the price tag I would think twice which one of both worths buying. Both are honourable enough to be chosen.
I suggest that as if all popular green scents listed and not listed here like the 90s female acqua di gio, mix in an orgia to create this stuff.
Which green scent would you pick? It does not matter. You need one only.

(Collection)
The one and only dry citrus fragrance I can happily wear.
It's so versatile, structured and uncomplicated at once, but definitely recognizeable among all main fresh leaning scents I know (thinking of Light Blue, Cool Water, Paradiso, Chance Eau Fraiche). Versense stands out with it's dry, spicy accords, summoning a mediterranean landscape in front of my eyes.

DISCONTINUED FRAGRANCE REVIEW
NO.#14 / 10.

Is it just me or is it getting harder to find summer scents to love?
Just to clarify, I have a few I LOVE ("Ralph" by RL, "Acqua di Gioia" by GA, "Verveine Agrums/Citrus Verbana" by L'Occitane being some of the front-winners!).

Ver-SA-che comes to the rescue!

"Versense" is a bright, sparkling citrus scent that is pleasantly unisex. That bergamot and orange with all other citruses does come across as quite lime-y. I think I've discovered that for me to LOVE a citrus scent I need that gorgeous effervescent, sparkling quality. It's essential and full of goodness.
The spicy cardamom hits your nostrils and the back of your throat without leaning feminine or masculine, allowing this to be enjoyed by all sexes/genders.
The lily is gorgeous. It really stops this scent being a plain ol' boring citrus bomb. It adds SO much elegance. And this scent is *truly* elegant. I love spraying this on a chic, business-womanesque top - I feel so put-together and polished.
The collected white florals are delicate and never overwhelming.
Although olive branch is listed as a base note, I smell this almost immediately, so I honestly feel it's stronger than it's votes suggest, but that could be just me. Again, this balances it as it remains a nice, naturalistic, unisex scent.
Olive branch with more woodiness and a tiny hint of musk is comforting for this little Perfumite.

Honestly, when I first sprayed this, I smelled a sharp, unrefined citrus that disappeared into nothingness. I think my bottle in particular needed some time to germinate. The fact I also sprayed during autumn probably didn't help.
This is a warm weather fragrance - make no mistake on that, Little Champions!
Furthermore, this provides the wearer the opportunity to thrown on a smart-casual, no-thoughts-required, spring-summer, elegant scent.

The bottle is divine, but I've previously harped on about that, so I can't add anything more.
Projection is decent to start with, but does settle quite quickly; much to my chagrin.
Longevity is poor on skin, but wonderful on clothes! Seriously, this is heavenly on clothes - I don't even understand it.

Wearing this transports me to walking through a bustling Italian market near a hot, white sandy beach. I'm wearing an all-white linen tailored top-and-trousers. The vendors are attempting to barter with me, and I smile at them with my sunglasses on with poorly-pronounced "Grazie... grazie..."

Kitty rating: 7-7.5/10.

Fresh Lemon in Sparkling water. Cucumber hints. Clean. Sits close to skin, about 1 - 2 inches.

Consistent scent from first spritz to hours later.

Best used in a salt-air location in summer.

Also useful to cut the scent of traffic/city smog/campfire/barbecue/forest fire air.

In a very fresh mountain air, it's too sharp, metallic. Avoid use in this particular air.

Stick to sea, city, or smoke for this blend.

Perseous

This is my absolute favorite fragrance for summer. It is extremely fresh and uplifting - instantly puts a smile on my face when I smell it. To me, it smell like limes in the opening which I adore. Overall it's fresh, a little spicy but not sharp (aka the infamous toilet cleaner vibe). Apparently the newer formulation doesn't last as well as the older one which I already suspected. When I wear this in the summer I'll re-apply after some hours but that is fine - the sleek bottle is super easy to carry in a purse. Also: if you like D&G Light Blue you'll definitely like Versace Versense as well. This is a gorgeous Unisex Scent and 100% worth a buy.

DieT CroaK

There are a lot of fragrances that smell similar to Versense. O de L'Orangerie by Lancôme, Chance Eau Fraiche by Chanel, Untold Eau Fraiche by Elizabeth Arden, Bright Neroli by Ferrari, Miss Dior Cherie L'Eau, 4711 Original Eau de Cologne… The list can go on and on. Versace managed to do something really good and a little bit different with Versense. It’s a typical citrus, green scent with something special. As much of a fragrance lover I am, I don’t think this scent got the credit it was due until recently because I had never heard of it until a few years ago. Why this has been around since 2009 and never got much love is beyond me. I agree with the post below me. An older bottle is the way to go. My 2013 bottle performs really well in comparison with a newer bottle I purchased. It’s definitely been diluted over the years. I can spray this in the morning, get ready for bed, and still smell it lingering in the shower the next day. It has really good sillage but I wouldn’t deem it a room filler. Maybe it’s the fig and olive tree notes that distinguishes this from the run-of-the-mill citruses. Whatever it is, it’s one of those dumb reach fragrances that I turn to on days when I want to smell naturally clean and casual. It’s definitely a fragrance that embodies a woman just emerging from a steamy shower to slip into a maxi dress or a t-shirt and jeans. No fuss, no muss, no coconuts type of scent. Versense performs the best with heat during late spring and summer but it doesn’t budge in the colder seasons. It layers well with other fragrances too. I think Versense is exemplary of a perfectly unisex fragrance. It’s sweet/powdery enough for a woman to appreciate and citrusy/woody enough to work for a guy too. Can you tell that I LOVE this? I have a tendency to get obsessed with a particular perfume for a period of time and then get bored. Versense is irreplaceable in my collection. I always return to it and am never disappointed.

First Impressions (Sample then Full bottle):
My former roommate had Chanel chance eau fraiche. Let me first start this review by saying this does not smell like Chanel chance eau fraiche AT ALL. This perfume doesn't really have florals, and smells a lot more unisex that eau fraiche. I would also like to say I bought a decant of this perfume, and it smelled SO MUCH BETTER then when I bought the whole bottle on amazon. I even bought Versace Versense from amazon and there were no comments that said it was fake. Nor did the seller have low reviews. When I bought a whole bottle on amazon it had way less fig, and overall smelled way more citrusy and weak. If you would like to buy this perfume I would say 1) DO NOT BUY IT FROM AMAZON EVEN IF IT HAS HIGH REVIEWS. 2) Buy an older version of this perfume because they might have made the more recent perfume weak before they discontinued it.
Edit 1(01/06/2024):
I really did like this perfume, but I can agree that this perfume can be way too acidic sometimes. I'm sad that is perfume is also discontinued. I really wish I had maybe bought the older formulation because that was more fig in the right way. I also loved that it gave me a girl boss vibe, and a workout kind of vibe.

Summary:
Smells like: A clean inoffensive citrus perfume. Perfect for a girl boss, or potentially working out.
Family of: Fresh Citrus- Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche (+Unisex, +Fig -Florals )
Sillage: Intimate-Medium

Verdict: Pass- Sadly discontinued, and maybe I either got the old formulation or had a weaker version of this.

malikun

I had it years ago and as I remember did not get tons of compliments but most importantly I enjoyed it myself and felt very refreshed wearing it. Crisp, like a spring morning breeze, if I see a similar perfume with more projection and silage I would get that one instead. The composition is true to description - cedar, bergamot and citrus, I didn’t get any cardamom though(thank Gooood).

auroramaria

It does resemble Chance Eau Fraiche a little, they are in the same family, Versense is fresh but not as light I mean, sometimes in warm weather it can be a bit too much, CEF is kind of fresh but lighter and more lovely in my opinion. Still Versace scents are among my favourite for their versatility and longevity

TheFancyNancy

This is such a lovely freshie for spring and summer. It reminds me of travelling because it smells like those hot towels they give out in Emirates airplanes.

yeesa_

I wanted to love this. Its a perfect freshie for summer but it gives me a headache I prefer my Mac turquatic its a tad sweeter and lasts longer

Shui-Xian

Vigorous, energic and free-spirited. Citrus lightly spiced with bergamot, deepened by musk and wood. On my skin quite enough straight (more syntetic than natural) unisex and spicy-fresh. The scent fades quickly (2 hrs top) and only the lemmon powdery resists.
When I tested on paper, the flowers were more distinctive and the perfume seems to be more feminine.
Nice scent, anyway - appealing, clean and activating. Definitely worth it.

emilia123

Whoever said this smells like Sprite was spot-on- a good, woody citrus with some aromatics in the drydown. Moderate sillage and longevity.

jenn.ca

Versense is an exceedingly fresh fragrance that pulls too masculine on me. I get no vanilla at all. Citrus-bright with a woody, aromatic edge. It also reminds me of standing in a fragrant greenhouse - imagine your nose inhaling every green leaf and fruit around you! I wouldn’t wear this everyday so I’m saving this for really hot days and for holidays abroad.

Longevity is a bit crap at 2 hours and the silage is moderate (at an arms’ length). You’d have to keep spraying it hourly.

Eveningrose

Omg this is just beautiful. Initially upon first spray, I smell a green mango 🥭. Then, it fades into cardamom with some citrus and white florals in the background. I have to test how long it lasts but the scent is beautiful.

MiniMena

Versense is a great fresh scent! I saw a u-tuber talk about it, blind bought it, fell in love with it. I was looking for an alternative to light blue style scents and also didn't want anything sweet and fruity. This is gorgeous! It opens bright and citrussy fresh, dries down to a cedar musk scent with a hint of sandalwood. I think its quite unisex . The Longevity is about 6 hours on me and the price is pretty nice. If you are looking for a casual, non offensive fragrance you won't want to pass this gem up.

scentual98

Citrus heavy, Reminds me of sierra mist soda, refreshing and effervescent, perfect for around this time of year. Longevity is a good 9 hours, projection is moderate, not to loud, but not weak either.

Rq2135

My go to fragrance, literally my favourite out of my entire collection. It starts off super woody and citrusy on my skin, but quickly dries down to a sweet, powdery, aromatic type of scent which I love. Perfect for literally any season, not too strong or headache inducing (if used moderately) and lasts on my skin FOREVER (like, 7 hours minimum). So many layers to this fragrance, different at ever stage but still so addictive. Not to mention, this scent is super unisex to me, so feel free to try it out regardless of whether you're more masculine or feminine leaning

rubybelle

Wow, I am so glad I got this one, pretty much blind bought based on the notes here which seem accurate. The opening is a blast of fresh citrus however it seamlessly turns in to a beautiful white floral fresh garden. There are no powdery tones here at all and I appreciate that, in my opinion it could be unisex despite the floral notes because it is just so CLEAN. It is not particularly unique but it is just blended so well to my nose. I love the bottle, so beautiful. Can definitely see this as a crowd pleaser, safe for office.

Ella22

A clean citrus fragrance with little bit of floral. Love to wear it at the gym.

Search and Discover

Light minty citrus. Poor sillage and longevity. Blind buy due to a discount price, but if I was hoping for something similar to the green of Gucci Envy, I was disappointed. Nothing off-putting about it, just nothing noteworthy either.

cloudbustinger

this one really comes to life in the lowe's garden center

Amylynn71799

I absolutely love this fragrance. This was a blind buy, diamond in rough. It is citrusy. To me, it dries down to a powdery cozy citrus. Last a long while on my skin and clothing.

ezpz

I really enjoy this offering from Versace. It starts out as a clean and fresh citrus with the lily softening the edges. The cedar gives it a little substance. I have been wearing this almost every day since I picked it up for a steal at TJMAXX. I have gotten so many compliments already. This seems to be a crowd pleaser to those around me. It reads a little green, as well as citrus floral, but not anywhere as green as Chanel 19 or Mugler Aura, for example.

This reminds me of Light Blue, Bright Crystal, Alien Eau Sublime ( but way less floral), Alien Eau Extraordinaire (but not so much like household cleaner), Acqua di Gioia (but without the mint), Dylan Blue ( without the green apple)

If you like the summer citrus scent profile, this is probably a safe blind buy, but may also work for people who like unobtrusive lily notes.

Miasha

I have just come to think of this wonderful, both fresh, warm and cosy fragrance, when I was going through which really are my favourites. Green but sweet. But not too sweet. Citrusy in a warm way. Something in it reminds me a bit of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, too. Something that is even a bit coconutty, though I don't think it is among the notes.
I only have a small sample of this - since quite many years now, actually. I have cherished it, sniffed it every now and then, but never have I come to the point of actually ordering it.
So - I think the time soon will come - I have already checked if it is still available! And, thank God, it is. Will just have to wait for the money!! Patience, patience...

linduxiitis

Airy, cheerful, confident, fresh. Like a warm summer day by sea while eating a juicy orange, or crossing some small streets in Athens during spring evening (even though spring evenings smell rather sweet in Athens).
This perfume is rather citrusy with a little bit of white florals at the start. Later on, a wonderful mandarin note lingers, while sandalwood and olive tree envolves on my skin. There is no powdery note, only this cheerful, light scent. The longevity is a bit tricky, because this aroma becomes skin-scent after 2-4 hours, yet it's there after very, very many hours. If you use perfume mainly for your own please, I think this is the perfect perfume. For me - it really elevates me and brings good feelings, which is a real super power for perfume.

gnathaliegh

I'm ususally not a big fan of citrusy, fresh fragrances but I love Versense. The citrus notes in the opening smell very natural to me and the pear and fig add just a bit of sweetness to balance everything out. I can't detect the individual floral notes but combined with the cardamom and woody notes in the base they work so well. Lasts moderately long on me but if I overspray, I can smell it most of the day. This will be my summer go to, also a lovely out of the shower/ bed time fragrance in my opinion :)

Chavezb3

This to me smells like cucumber lemon water with slight sweetness. Very refreshing and translucent scent. I wish I got more of the wood notes. A lot of people compare this to Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche but Chanels has an actual woody edge to it that sets is apart from most simple fresh scents. Even though Versace has it listed there is 0 woodiness. Based on the notes I was expecting something more complex but this is a simple fresh citrus with some sweetness. Last pretty good though and that’s rare in freshies.

jlh12

I got a compliment at work yesterday at the 7-hour mark, and there I was thinking it had become a skin scent at that point... I did 5 sprays that morning, btw. I recently got a fantastic deal on a tester at Jomashop!

Anyway, this is becoming an awesome work staple for me. It smells like productivity and optimism. It makes me feel very clean and put together, too. I love the bright and zippy citrus notes here. The unique olive tree note is more in the background, almost working on a subconscious level to tie everything together. Meanwhile, the floral heart notes give it a touch of elegance and keep the cedar from coming off too masculine. As a result, I find it to be very well-balanced. It isn't too young or too old either, it's just right in the middle.

LindaL100

I tried this fragrance at the perfume store the other day, this is a very light fragrance, while the light citrus notes were nice but it's too subtle I can barely smell it and its longevity is very weak, only lasted less than an hour on my skin. I like some of Versace's fragrances, mostly the ones for men. This is a very disappointing fragrance for women and ridiculously overpriced considering its very light smell and weak longevity, if you buy this you are really just buying the brand name. There are plenty of much cheaper fragrances that are much stronger, nicer and longer-lasting than this, I recommend not to buy this and save your money on something better.

Petrichor134

I had this a while back, so way back I couldn't even recall how it smelled and I generally can recall perfumes in my memory. I think I wouldn't even recognize it if someone passed by wearing this perfume. And while shopping in the drugstore, remembering how I had just a few ml of Chanel eau fraîche and how this was recommended as similar, I sprayed it on my wrist, thinking how I never got that similarity. The only thing I remember, not being able to connect those two perfumes other than by green, invigorating, refreshing colours. And they don't smell similar. Well, they do make you think they do, but while eau fraîche is fresh with notes I personally cannot separate from one another, with a hint of sweetness, just a hint, Versense is fresh with very prominent lily. Lily is the same as in Gucci Bamboo. Creamy, luscious lily. And the drydown is warm and soft wood, a little dry, olive bark left in the warm Mediterranean sun. Not particularly sea/coastal perfume, but neither are our summers. We do not think of coconut or tiare flowers when swimming in the Adriatic sea. It's the pines, salt, laurel, cypress.Very prominent, our entire coast smells very fragrantly of those dry, aromatic herbs and trees. And the sound of crickets. This perfume is more our summers than the fake coconut suntan lotion. Like an elegant woman, sitting on the coast, her lily perfume intertwining with the scents of the sea and trees. Easily my favourite. Bought it the next day, wearing it right now and enjoying every minute of it. I still get whiffs of it in the morning.

hijoebye

Using this for the first time in 2022 - this is my second review for Versense. Sprayed about 3 sprays on my neck this morning, went to work, had a full day & came home and even showered and STILL smell (faint) whiffs here and there. The longevity of this is amazing & during the day was smelling this on myself quite noticeably for hours. Definitely a unisex offering, bought this cheap for 30mL and very much worth it. Love this in warm weather!

nini18

It is like a breath of fresh air entwined with the aroma of lemon tree blossoms at the seashore.Truely a feel good perfume.

noodlehead19

i wanted SO badly to like this. going off the notes, it seemed like the perfect fresh-green fragrance to add to my collection. however, there's something about it that just doesn't sit right on my skin. the opening is lovely! a very bright, crisp wave of citrus (and what i'm learning is fig). after the citruses subside, the woodiness really starts to shine through. i think this is where things start to go south for me: the cardamom. it is very loud on my skin, overpowering the other notes to the point where it's all i can smell. the drydown is very old-smelling to my nose, like the kind of lipstick and perfume an older lady would wear. by no means is it an unpleasant smell; it's very well blended and uplifting! i would just prefer not to smell myself as an old woman and sneeze all day.

terigurl

It smells very pretty, fresh and airy, slightly sweet with citrus and woods. That's what I mostly smell. The florals are light but sill detectible which is great because it's not an in your face floral like her older sister Versace Signature. This fragrance is a very easy reach. I'd wear this to meet the parents for the first time or to work at the office. I'm giving it a full wear test today so I'll update you on projection & longevity.

Update: 8 hours later it's a close to the skin scent. Light whiffs here and there. Wish it projected more but won't mind re-applying because it's a beautiful fragrance.

kiaoi

Fresh, “green” perfumes aren’t my go-to scents but I see myself using this one a lot, especially when I will go back to the office. I definitively feel the bergamot note, it’s a scent that reminds me of an Italian garden with citrus, fig and pear trees, in the first opening. I love cardamom and as a middle note here, it gives a beautiful soapy tone. The scent as a whole it’s an inoffensive, pleasant mix of notes. Too bad the EDT doesn’t last on my skin, I have to put it on my clothes to be able to feel it longer throughout the day.

Arunas.K

Bought this one for my girlfriend, she is 33. I went to a local parfume shop and talked with a lady working there. She showed me this one and I was surprised to see how well blended it is.

It is one of those clean and light summer spring fragrances that tell a story of citrus. Some interesting fruity notes also. The smell changes also after wearing it for an hour or so, becoming slightly powdery.

In my op opinion it is quite similar to Lacoste legere, one of the better fragrances out there in the same vibe also.

Slightly unisex, albeit leaning towards femininity. I liked it!

Longevity is above average and sillage is moderate. Quality of ingredients is also good as it is a well rounded formula with no sharp edges.

Go for it.

LateBloomer

This is one of my dumb reach perfumes. I love it when I walk the dog, go to the grocery store, or after the gym...it is a versatile scent and reminds me of spring because it is simple and fresh and has a sweet and not sharp zing that is always uplifting. I find Versense offers some refreshing relief in the summer when the temperatures rise and the humidity is oppressive. It also layers beautifully with some of my lighter summer scents!

Often available at TJs or Marshalls for a great price.

naomiscarlet961

a blind buy based on reviews. Nice, but nothing special, smells like a watered down version of "acqua di gioia fraiche".

islandgirlmaranda

One night I was at work bartending, and there was a cute couple getting drinks at the bar, and as soon as they sat down, I got the most fresh and zesty scent to my nose! I couldn't tell if was him or her? So I asked, "Who smells so good?!" And she instantly said, "Me!" Apparently, he wasn't wearing cologne and it was the young lady wearing it. I asked her what it was, and this is it! I bought me a very small bottle. This is sooooo interesting!!! To my nose...I get citrus, tea, cedar (or pine?) notes. It reads that this is a frag for women but IMO it could honestly lean either way! It's a very unique smell, very fresh, and I don't think anyone else would be wearing this one! It's nostalgic for something for me but I just can't put my nose on it.

DarlingLovely

Fresh and zesty, although I wouldn't classify the zestyness here particularly citrusy. Very spring-like, in a non-floral way.

Whitesensation

The bottle is beaituful, so classy and pleasant.
But the scent inaside is just blunt. I feel grass, no prominent citruses on the drydown. It is missing some zest. This perfume is missing liveliness. But on the other hand, it is just a clean fragrance. Clean fragrance without vibrant zesty nose tick.

melusina1982

Although I don't think it is similar to Chance Eau Fraiche I like to use it as its counterpart in summer.
Great citrus lime soda, almost like Sprite. Very refreshing and the cardamom gives it a spicy kick that makes it creamier.
It works well in the colder months too,but like I said, I prefer Chance for that purpose.

Ninela984

This use to be the best scent ever, before they decide to turn it into lemonade, so sad..
When it first came out it smell so quality and lasting power was 10/10
Now is just a watery lemonade smell that lasts 20min :(

washudtoj

'Versense is a walk in a fragrant garden, which contributes to freshness and a stream of feelings, as well as to self-esteem and vitality.' - Product advertisement

Well, I'd rather say this is a sitting session surrounded by lime trees in the midst of a summer afternoon on a cliff by the sea. It is very limy, like green lime soda. I like it.

I don't think there are phases for this fragrance. It's a linear scent; in the opening, I got a blast of lime soda, which soon diminishes within twenty seconds into a trail of lime soda.

Longevity is far from the best. I sprayed this over myself some twenty minutes ago and now it's almost gone. Sillage is good for the first minute, and after a few minutes, it becomes skin scent. To conclude, this is more like an eau fraîche. Not sure why they bother marketing this 'for women' since it's as unisex as it can get. I would choose Versense over Versace pour Homme any day.

It's becoming harder to come by and at least in where I live, it is overpriced. If you manage to get it under £40, I'd say pull the trigger. If not, there are other citrus fragrances to enjoy anyway.

l'Occitane Verveine (Verbena)

Update: I'm wearing this again today (09/09/2023), over a year and a half after my review above, and my reaction has changed slightly. This fragrance still smells great, but it's so oily on my skin and also salty. I'm glad I didn't get a full bottle of it and I don't think I will now. It still smells nice, but the oiliness on my skin bothers me. I usually associate it to 'poor manufacturing quality' in this aspect.

eau de cocoa butter

If you’re currently reading reviews to determine whether or not to buy this: Buy it. You won’t regret it. In fact, my only regret is not purchasing this gem sooner. I love Versense, I want to smell like this all day everyday. You spray this on and no one will ever think there’s a dirty bone in your body. Absolutely clean and gorgeous scent.

Shona321

Honestly I don't understand the comparison to Chanel Eau Fraiche. The two smell completely different. What Versense DOES smell like is Valentino Rosa Verde. I love citrus perfumes so I blind bought Versense thinking I needed it. WRONG. I already had Rosa Verde in my collection, so when I smelled Versense, I was like come on. I was so disappointed because they are almost the same thing. I sprayed Versense on one arm and Rosa Verde on the other. And if anything, I prefer Rosa Verde. Versense is a true bergamot lime-y smell. The sillage is not that intense and gets mellow pretty soon. After the citrus I get more fresh woodiness. And that is what it stays like throughtout the day. Rosa Verde on the other hand is much stronger. The bergamot smacks you in the face along with that ginger after one spray. The sillage is super strong and it stays as a sharp, green, almost spicy bergamot. They're roughly the same cost so I will stick to my Valentino. If you have one of the two, you don't need the other. Even though I prefer the Rosa Verde, I think Versense is more of a safe blind buy since it's more inoffensive and less loud.

I wear this everday!!! I never tire of it, it never gives me a headache and people who sit around me in the office love it. I will never be without it, I will always have 2 backup bottles at all times. It's smells so crisp and clean, it projects very well on me and lasts all day. I spray on my skin or clothes. It layers very well with the lotion if you can find it. Versace Versence and Prada Infusion D'iris will always be in my rotation of fragrances.

S/N: I've been wearing Valentino Donna Rosa Verde and I do like it, but nothing will ever compare to Versace Versence.

Best mood lifting and refreshing scent I ever came across. This has been my all-time fragrance since past 2 months. I am so addicted to this one that I reach for it every now and then so it could boost my mood and make me feel confident, lovable and fresh. Opening is more of citrusy followed by elevating florals and woods in it. There is kind of fresh shower gel like feel to it that goes perfectly with my skin chemistry. On me, this lasts for more than 8 hours and this is super affordable. This is best of my summer scents and is completely phenomenal one being a beastly performer specially for the freshness in it. Mostly there are sweet citrus in opening followed by soft fig and then base with the fresh white florals. Masterpiece I would say!

heatherrose

This is really beautiful. My mother-in-law wears this. It's been her signature scent for years and years. She is beautiful, sophisticated, clean, and pretty - just like this fragrance

Similar vibe to Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche

maryjoscarlet

This is everything I wanted Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche to be: clean citrus herbal woody wonderfulness with some spice (cardamom). But absolutely zero awful patchouli. A citrus scent I actually want to wear.

Bonus: steeply discounted price of around $30 for 100ml at TJ Maxx. It's all wins.

RRHouse

Clean and fresh with an herbal woodiness. My favorite gym scent all year round. Only one or two sprays does it with Versace Versense, which projects well on my skin even in winter, more than that might offend others exercising near me.

lizziepatricia

Absolutely adore this. My friend was cleaning out her perfume drawer and gave it to me, and when I sprayed it on my hoodie I purposely wouldn’t wash the hoodie for DAYS. Versace Versense is so refreshing and clean, not sweet, and I’m surprised by just how well it works every time. I just enjoy it so much. The fig, bergamot, pear, and florals are so balanced to such a bright effect, and the woody, musky undertones round it out to this incredibly fresh but sensual experience that I keep coming back to. What a great deal for such an unexpectedly beautiful fragrance.

Szafirowy czar

I remember liking this fragrance when I smelled it for the first time, however now that I got it in my hands again, I actually am not a big fan. It smells too much like jelly candy...

MrsMRe

Found Versense at a bargain price and blind-bought based on the notes and reviews here. A citrusy bergamot-fig with a woody dry down? sounded perfect! After two wears, though, I get a soft floral with a shampoo-y or lotion-y vibe and not much else. While it's not sweet, I wouldn't describe it as green at all and I LOVE green scents (life-long Chanel No. 19 fan). It's quite pleasant and inoffensive, as many have noted, but I guess it suffered from my expectations. I'll be trying it again when the weather warms up in spring and hoping for the bergamot, fig, and sandalwood notes that others are getting.

jassca99

I blind purchased this past summer because I didn’t have that many easy reach summer fragrances. Two I had, the citrus was too much and didn’t work with my skin, as citrus dominant scents tend to do with me. I thought I have given up on predominantly citrus fragrances until I blind-bought this. Absolutely refreshing, bright, clean, non-sharp citrus blended well with little sweetness from the pear, fig and sandalwood. Notes I really like that were able to mellow out any sharpness. No matter how much I spray, it’s not overbearing in the heat. I’m also not stingy because it’s very affordable.

Smells like a fresh lime, citrus and green apple liquid shower gel. I don’t know how to explain it but liquid shower gel has that aquatic, quenching, texture! It’s not sharp due to the fig and olive sweetening it up. The sandalwood is very smooth here. Very affordable and nice for humid hot weather.

PhattBass

This smells so lovely — clean, fresh, citrusy, and ever so slightly green. The fig and pear also makes it a little fruity, but not in a cloying way. The fruits are not that prominent. Thankfully and surprisingly there's nothing screechy, harsh, or sharply synthetic in this, to my nose at least. It’s the perfect summer scent for me.

JustSimpleThings

This is a beautiful, not at all artificial lemon scent with woody undertones, to me.
Interestingly, I can sort of feel the olive tree vibe; it gives the composition some depth and warmth so it doesn't become 'shrill' and untethered as many citrus fragrances tend to do.

Aloysia90

Best summer fragrance of my collection of almost 100 scents. This one tends to elevate my mood all the time I wear it. Citrusy outburst followed by woody and floral notes in a balanced way makes it one of its types. There is some sourness of citrus and acidic feel to it that plays super cool with my skin. Longevity is good enough; it lasts for 8-10 hours on me and silage is superb too. also, this is worth the money. Much affordable and highly versatile. Be it work, outing or dating, this works best for me. This amazing juice is uplifting, bright, crisp, clean, calming and sensuous. This is best fit for summers. Silage and longevity are amazing too. Certainly, this is a safe blind buy!

Natlon

It is my best citrus perfume. It’s beautifuly simple but you can feel the good quality. If you like citrusy fragrances you would love this one.
I often use it for layering and it seems to extend its life. On its own you have to „top up” during the day. In my opinion it is any day, any time and any season type of perfume. It is fresh and light.

Monke go brr

I heard people say this is unisex, so I bought a sample but it smells extremely feminine to me. Smells like something that teen girl would wear.

Smells like cardamom citruses with woody base but in an extremely feminine way. There's also a synthetic flower smell.

I don't like it but I don't dislike it. I think there are way better perfumes than this nowadays.

Edit: After assesing it for a while, I really dislike this a lot. There are way better perfumes nowadays

Azisai-

On another one of my blind-buy adventures, I stumbled upon Versense and she is a hidden gem.

A fresh, zesty opening and a linear vibe throughout the duration of it's longevity. Longevity is actually high quality, I sprayed it on around 7:45 and it survived an 8-hour school day, with it being a low sillage/skin scent after 9 hours or so. It's moderate sillage before it starts waning, which is quite reasonable.

To me, this doesn't smell all Chance Eau Fraiche to me. Are they both beautiful? Yes, but the differences are very noticeable. One being that Versense is super zesty and less woody than Eau Fraiche is on my skin, and Eau Fraiche doesn't last nearly as long as Versense does on me. As I said before, both are lovely but Versense is stronger in my opinion.

So...if I had to boil it down to 3 words, I'd say Versense is Energizing, Long Lasting, and Practical. Good for office and school as you won't offend anyone, and it has a non-lethal but decent sillage. If you see it and you know zesty citrus is your jam, get this...because it's been discontinued :(

amaliesh3

This is a lovely citrus fragrance. I have a small 5 mL bottle, but I don’t think I will get a full bottle because I have Light Blue. They have a similar vibe, but I think I like Light Blue more.

thestranger

This is a pleasant, inoffensive and light freshie. The citrusy and slightly fruity top notes are very likable. They fade almost immediately to a transparent, white floral skin scent that you can easily wear in the spring and summer. I like it, but don't know yet if I love it. I'll wear it out to see if that changes :) I keep coming back to smell it, which is a good sign.

I initially tried this perfume because it was listed as similar to Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche, which was the only perfume I used throughout college. But the two are nothing alike! Versense is much more straightforward. Its top notes are waaaay more citrusy, almost like cleaning product, without the strong element of cedar in Chance's top notes, and instead with the fruitiness brought by fig and pear. And Versense's middle notes are much softer and less complex, with less projection. I can't really pick up the cardamom, just the florals. Chance's heart has a denser, more peppery and slightly sweeter edge that makes it less fresh, but more interesting and sophisticated.

Weby007

Really fresh fragrance, smells very lemony and citrus like. It is bordering on the kitchen cleaner synthetic lemon smell though. Unsure whether I would buy a full bottle yet.

bel.gravia

Simply love Versense, and I do not love many fresh citrus perfumes. Juicy ciitruses, fresh florals and loads of cedar. It is rather really woody, which makes it last longer that usual perfumes in this category. I love the advert too - Versense smells like diving out of the ocean, clean and pure, right in the stormy weather. Water, refreshing water everywhere.

Kittykittybangbang

Though I do not see it listed, all I smell is a huge burst of green apple. This one disappointed me. Slightly masculine.

hijoebye

I had this on my ‘want’ list because I loved the notes and luckily found it on sale. This is a very inoffensive soft floral musk. The citrus comes on a bit loud at first but the the florals tone it down. It’s very nice and quite strong for a EDT. I would recommend this to anyone - 100% unisex, I’m a guy and can wear this. I disagree with the ratings here - I think this could easily go from day to night. It’s summer at the moment, but I’d like to see how it performs in colder weather.

EDIT: 2 months later & colder weather, I find this to be quite strong! I can spray it and smell it on my clothes 2 days later. It has a sharp quality to it. I don't know if it's the colder weather enhancing it or what. Still really like it!!

Jux27

A very elegant and fancy fragrance. I’m absolutely in love with it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

marysunroyse

I bought it when I was just out of school, and still have it, because I started using perfumes daily only recently, so I have a lot of years this being my only scent, and still being used a lot.
To me this is an all year rounder for sure.. In the winter and mid fall I definitely smell the more cedary almost minty notes, which is really refreshing with the citrus, in cold air. The smell becomes crisp yet gentle, and I love it.
In the summer/ spring I like that its not overly sweet, and refreshing in the heat, the sweeter notes come through more to me, and I can smell the pear.
Mid notes are flowery, but my nose doesnt detect much of the flower scent, comparing to some jasmine scents I smelled, this perfume definetly isn't flowery on my skin. On me it dries down very citrusy sweet and cedary.
The lasting power is mediocre, but to people who can easily get nauseated it is a positive thing, sillage is good only for the first hour or two, then it become a personal close to skin scent.

Would reccomend this one as a safe bet to people who dont like sweet or overly powering scents, a good start.
Definetly less of a teenager scent, but honestly can be worn by anyone, even some daring men.
Overall this is one of my more favored Versace scents, and is dear to my heart.
Affordable and easy to wear.

So good 🤟🏼

I couldn't agree more with all the very positive reviews - no need to add more paragraphs because I think everyone has done a great job on Versense. Personally, I have worn this fragrance for about 8 years - perhaps more. I live in a hot, humid climate (New Orleans) and can tell you that Versense has prompted more compliments from people than anything I have worn, ever. Men love it, women love it, the young woman who works at the dry cleaners asked me to write down the name, restaurant servers love it, bartenders love it. And, truthfully, I am not putting on a whole lot! I think this fragrance reads very soft, but lingers longer than a person imagines. It offers a soft whift that everyone seems to find so attractive and pleasing. In our hot, humid climate it's a winner. It has been (pre-Covid) my go-to travel perfume for any and all trips to countries surrounding the Mediterranean. Let me tell you - just as many compliments over there. Shame it has been discontinued. Buy it while you can!

bleuciel

Good one! I smell only bergamot (like a HUGE chunk of it is just bergamot) and maybe some jasmine with some sour citrus. Very fresh, very green, very zesty. Not powdery nor soapy. Clean in a fresh zesty way. Definitely unisex.

Forgot to add: I don't smell the fig at all! Wish I did, it's one of my favourite notes, I love 'Fico di Amalfi' for example.

Performance is very poor I would say. It's 35 degrees outside (C) and it disappears in about 2 hours. Silage is close to the skin and then nothing. It's quite cheap, re-applying multiple times a day is a must.

The bottle looks very nice though. True Versace style. Not sure if I would re-purchase because of its poor performance during summer and I don't see myself wearing this in any other season. I think Versace makes some very good clean fresh fragrances (and all are a bit on the poor performance side - maybe these fresh-smelling notes are not that long-lasting --> Light Blue Intense proved us wrong though).

SummerRose

Blind Purchase - Okay, call me Crazy but I am really loving this fragrance! It is zesty with a bit of green notes and florals. It is quite fresh and uplifting. I feel like I cannot get enough of it....it's mad.

It has a similar vibe to another fragrance I have, D&G Light Blue Intense in that it's a citrus fragrance but they do not smell alike.

I am not a citrus lover, however I think this is a really good perfume. I agree that it does lean a bit unisex but I really enjoy it and I don't usually go for unisex fragrances.

I get about 4 hours on my skin and sillage is moderate. I find it quite addictive. I would recommend!!

Carolann59

After I got past the sharp citrus opening, the dry down was quite lovely, just a very soft fresh floral. Unfortunately, it is more of a skin scent on me and only lasts a few hours. I do think this would be a great scent on a man.

DodgersLH714

I'm a man and vouch for this scent as man friendly. I love this scent. Versace Man Eau Fraiche is almost identical to Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue for Her, which I also take from my girl's collection from time to time. That said this scent is mine all mine and love the citrus blast it gives, the performance is there as well for being a citrus freshie. ITS NOT JUST FOR WOMEN!!!

a_c_thompson

Better than any summer fragrance in my collection!
This is from my wife's collection, and I thoroughly believe what I typed in that previous sentence.
I love this scent on my wife. She's had it for quite a while, and has worn it several times. And I have loved it every single time.
Well while I was trying to figure out what sent I should wear to work today, and kind of regretting volunteering for Saturday, I thought I would try something different. So I asked my wife if I could wear one of her fragrances, just for something different. A change.
See I work outdoors in the Arizona heat and I have a lot of fresh summer fragrances. But I thought it would be fun to mix it up a bit. And seeing as I love Versense on her so much, and there's nothing overly feminine about this fragrance, I figured... why not.
Well I have a new found appreciation for this scent. Not only does it smell phenomenal. It's also a performance monster, especially for how fresh it is.
It starts with a beautiful sweet citrus, then later on you get a nice soft fig, then a fresh white floral. I mean what's not to love?
Ladies, buy this.
Men, stop worrying about what gender they choose to market this to, and give it a try.
If my wife someday realizes that she can do a lot better than me, and leaves and takes all of her fragrances. I would order myself a bottle of this.

Sol0013

A blind buy and an absolutely successful one :) This is going to the vacation destination with me this summer :)
The opening smells like lemon and a mysterious smell (I think it's fig cause I have no idea how fig smells like in perfumes). Then the flowers show up. Very delicate, very relaxing. I don't find this similar to Chance eau fraiche. They have similarities in the opening but IMO the dry down of eau fraiche shares the same DNA with that of the original Chance, same woody vetiver smell. Whereas, Versence becomes more floral as it dries down.

Fatter

Much more character than Chance eau Fraiche. Tangy, effervescent, green. Clean. The ripe aroma from the bergamot, fig and pear are counteracted with the poised and cold floral combination of lily and narcissus.

Lizabs68

Great juice, very clean, long lasting and compliments getter.

SalinasL

Like many of the reviewers below, I also find this quite different from the zingy Chance Eau Fraiche. Versense manages to be very fresh and very natural-smelling without the obvious citrus or aquatic notes of many “fresh” scents. I would have guessed there was maybe some bitter orange in this, rather than bergamot or full-on citrus—likely the green mandarin I’m getting. Whatever the case it blends seamlessly with the fig, which is a note I love but often find difficult to detect. It then hovers between the fig and what I think must be the olive tree, in a beautiful creamy, green halo. I envy those who can experience this with good longevity. It’s very fleeting on me but I love it while it lasts.

Anamandy

I don't think this is much like Chance Eau Fraiche. That is much more distinctive than this. If anything, the first fragrance that sprang to mind when putting this on was Vera Wang's Green Tea and Pear Blossom, except this has a woody dry down and is clearly better quality with somewhat better performance; but not by much. But there are a lot of fragrances on the market like this, and I feel that it you have one, you have them all. While pretty, it isn't different enough from so many others in the same vein to justify purchasing anything bigger than the mini I now own. On the other hand, if someone were to gift me a bottle, I would appreciate it and use it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to acquire a bottle.

Edit - Wore this the other day during the heat wave and it wore much more woody and citrusy than the first few times I wore it. I can now understand why this reminds some of Chance EF, but the fig was also more prominent which makes it still different too.

MK55555

Realy nice summer scent. Very clean, light and happy. I can feel fig and pear a lot. It is not simmilar to Chance Eau Fraiche, not in the slightest. Maybe in the same vein, MAYBE.

Mirella86

If you are buying this, thinking you've made a deal not paying the money for Chance Eau Fraiche, think again, since this is nowhere close to the Chanel one, except for the citrus opening, which I also don't find very similar. However, this is a very nice, fresh, summer scent, that performs decent for a citrus. More similar to Light Blue than Chanel, in my opinion. For the price, you cannot find anything better, the citrus smells good and not cheap or synthetic.

CheriLyn

Just tested this and it's a clean, citrusy scent. I really love how it smells out of the bottle.
Similar light, citrus vibe to the D&G Light Blue, but less sweet and more "green"
After the top notes fade it turns to a more floral, woody scent. You can definitely smell the cedar. I'm not a huge fan of cedar, as it smells slightly stale on my skin, but in combination with the other notes, it's one of the better cedar noted perfumes, imo.

EDIT: The top notes are great, but what makes me love this perfume is actually the sweet green floral and woody notes that you get wisps of, after the top fruity notes fade. It smells so goodgood and has extremely long performance on my skin. Up to 12 hr at arms length and still sits on the skin at 24.
I got the 30mL but if I see it for a good price again, I would definitely get another bottle, just so I can spray this on whenever I want.

asjkfbs653

I’ve tested this today. It’s really nice, not impressive but a good go-to when not knowing what to wear on a summer evening.
Non offensive, smells a bit like shampoo according to my man, haha.

Uka

Absolutely stunning perfume! Little bit zesty on the opening, but then it is just gorgeous. I can smell lot of citruses and some green notes in the beginning, then it is more floral-green. My ultimate hot weather perfume. I used to wear DG Light Blue, but I like this more. Moreover, it is cheaper, and you can´t smell it on everybody.

Erica.Cass

Love it! Semi sweet, fresh, woody citrus. Easy to wear casual scent.

Peacelovecolorart

After 30 min it smells incredibly similar to Gucci Bamboo. It amazes me that they only have three notes in common: top- bergamot; middle- lily; base- sandalwood.you really don’t need both. Verse se is a bit fruitier in the brief opening- think it’s the pear. Wish it lasted.

TerynJo

Just blind bought a bottle and received it today. This is easily the best blind fragrance purchase I’ve ever made. I think I’ve just found an all time favorite!! It’s shocking to me that this is discontinued. Many reviews here mention that this eu de toilette doesn’t last long. I did not have the same experience! I sprayed some on my clothes and hair before going to work 6hrs outdoors in the pouring rain.. and I just came home to my roommates complimenting my new perfume. Many people don’t know that spraying on your skin makes any fragrance less likely to last. So that’s just my two cents.. If you want this to last, spray it on your hair and clothes! You do have to spray more than you would with a regular perfume since it is a eu de toilette.
This is the most refreshing scent, it reminds me of a beautiful sunny day at the park or in a lovely garden with a tall icy glass of lemonade in hand. The smell really embodies the best parts of spring and summer. & Despite that; I’d still say this is safe to wear year round. The thing I love most about this scent is how universally likable and inoffensive it is. After encountering my grandfather and a friend today who are sensitive to scents and usually don’t like them at all.. I was thrilled when they complimented my fragrance!
Versense Versace is a unisex scent in my opinion, it’s very elegant but not too dainty to be worn on a masculine identifying person. This would smell sexy on any gender. Versace is a fruity, green and floral fragrance. A fragrance that is quite special, unique and comforting. I enjoy it so much that I’ll soon be buying a couple more bottles of this discontinued treasure before it runs out.

Katou117

Another fragrance that lasts only 5 minutes or so. Smells fresh and very nice but I would not buy again.
EDIT
After wearing it a few times, I noticed that I might not smell it a lot but others can. It gets woodier the more it dries down and that's perfect. Finally, I think I might buy another bottle after all when mine is finished.

TraumaScents

Generally pleasant! Great for just running errands or being at home. It’s uplifting and energizing. However, it doesn’t last very long.

JacquelineRenee

This is my absolute favorite Versace fragrance, and my overall second favorite fragrance ever. If you love cool green floral and slightly spicy, this will be your jam!. Veresense opens with a strong blast of citrus, the milky sweetness of a fig, and the sweet fruitiness of a fresh (not synthetic smelling) pear. When I first sprayed this, my eyes literally crossed... it smells that good. It is everything citrusy, zingy, and refreshing. Once the fragrance starts to develop, you then get the sweet and slight spiciness of the Lilly paired with the slightly sweet nuttiness from the cardamom, and the cool green leafy floral from the narcissus. It has a very slight soapy quality to it that I am guessing comes from the olive tree and the slight woodiness from the Cedar which is amplified by the sandalwood.

This is one of those scents that is just fresh but not soapy. It is cool, very green(not in a Chanel No 19 kind of way), and refreshing. I would swim in this fragrance if I could. Of course, it isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea; however, I grew weary of trying to get mysterious and dark. Gourmands never did a darn thing for me. I don't like smelling like a caramel almond bar or spun sticky sugar(no intended offense to gourmand lovers). Versense has everything I love in a fragrance... it makes me feel refreshed and ready to step out the door, and I always get a ton of compliments when I wear this.

In terms of blind buying, I would say that if you like fragrances like Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, Chanel's Eau Fraiche you will like Versense. I would even go so far as to say if you like something like Jo Malone's Lime Basil and Mandarin, Versense will be right up your alley. Simply divine!

Recklessssssss

I have a 30ml bottle for sale/exchange.

RandomPatterned

I can't do justice to the other in depth reviews. All I can say is I never second guess putting this on. Purely pleasant and uplifting to wear. Nicely balanced fruits and flowers - refreshing, yet it has a (grounded?) base which makes it special.

VioletOrchid

I think I know why Versace discontinued this one. It’s beautiful!!! People below have done a great job describing it. It’s the kind of scent you want to burry your face in. Yes, that’s how close you gotta get to smell it unfortunately. Practically no sillage. NOW IF THEY EVER MAKE AN EDP VERSION THOUGH, one that would last longer and actually project, it would be absolute perfection.

Cliche1206

I have a full, never been used, big bottle
(I believe it’s 3.4 oz) that I’m trying to get rid of. Anyone up for a trade??

Jessica_Jones

Blast of bergamot and pomelo, so fresh and juicy I can taste the pulps. A little herbal. Weakish, but nice!

echurch1979

There are few moments of peace when dealing with Scent-bird. Your cue is being constantly fuddled with, you either receive perfumes you've never picked, or none at all. Customer service personnel never really addresses your concerns, and how could they? They even refer to themselves as fairies! Which is an unbelievably juvenile approach to an upset customer reporting valid problems with product. I mean, I respect the sand, just not the smarts. Yes, I could fault them for a great many things, but accidentally introducing me to Versace's Versense, is not one of them. I read a couple whiffed reviews before engaging in my own writing, and it is so strange to adore a scent, and find those who actually dislike it. There is a surreal stagger that ensues, "We couldn't have smelled the same thing!" I suppose that is ego talking again, and I am somehow projecting protective parental arrogance over my sweet child. I am that in love with this perfume, I become aghast at the mere suggestion of its mortality, or morbidity for that matter. I know this is an unhealthy approach to perfumery, or life in general. So please allow me to tell you of its many virtues, while I swoon and sway, searching for just the right words to do it justice. I suppose I will start with the bright and cheery top notes, which protract light through the dome-like, beading drops of citrus oils, wrung gently from rind. Witness the spray of incandescence, sparkling in the air before anointing skin and surfaces with the most photo-realistic lime notes. Fresh fig, plucked right from the tree that bore it just moments before, warmed under sunlit optimism. Unaware it will soon be halved, exposing a sensual magenta interior ready to be emptied of its sweetly verdant flesh. Pear joins, and the top becomes slightly coarse, like its granular, almost floral, saccharine texture against the tongue. To further carry the feel of the virginal Mediterranean, and so befittingly contained within the heart of the composition, tender Jasmine notes begin their enchantment. An oceanic, ozonic saltiness emerges, elevated with fresh cardamom, like chewing pods to reawaken the palate. Sandalwood, cedar and olive root the scent, creating a warmth and liveliness untouched by other central chords. The most comforting of musk enters at last, and serenades sleepy narcissus. An expertly counterbalanced note in contrast to the luminescent start. A full elemental circle completes, dominant only in radiance. Refined with a simplicity measured by the expert hands of Alberto Morillas, I inadequately exclaim, "Exquisite"! Reclining back momentarily to inhale an infinitely peaceful euphoria.

KylieBooFace

It's a shame. The bottle is elegant and the Juice is a calming pastel green..The opening blast is a beautiful, juicy, slightly sweet lime/citrus with a touch of floral. Unfortunately, that citrus goodness fades and I start to get a drydown that is reminiscent of many mainstream synthetic fragrances: a sharp, bitey, and somewhat bitter mess. It is fresh and elegant, otherwise. If anyone knows a fragrance that stays like Versense in the beginning, please send me a PM :)

Cliche1206

I have a full, never been touched 3.4 oz bottle I’m looking to get rid of. If someone wants to trade or something, please let me know?? 🥰

red_lily124

Upon first spray, it really reminds me of vietnamese sugar cane juice, which heavily features kumquat. Super citrusy and refreshing. After awhile, the citrus sadly mellows down and the sandalwood/cedar becomes more present and it becomes a very tame fragrance. Very office friendly, I do like it even though the bright citrus mellows pretty quickly. A great fragrance for more summery months.

haogaga

It is a woman fragrance but it is very unisex. it opens with a blast of citrus (lemon) and it infuses the floral note, white floral i believe, which make it very nice and sensual. I also get a vibe of Tea, which also smell pretty nice and relaxing.

I love using this scent in a high heat summer day. absolutely beautiful and refeshing. not cloying at all.

The projection is pretty intimate. about an arm length.
The longevity is great. it last around 6-7h on my skin.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! i also hear that this one has been discontinued so grab your bottle now

Smellgod216

ELEGANCE PERSONIFIED! FIND IT! BUY IT!

HanaNoir

This is a fresh green fragrance perfect on a gorgeous bright summer day. It is a pleasant and uplifting zesty goodness in the opening with understated floral and woody notes in the dry down. This is not an overly feminine fragrance and I can definitely see a man wearing it. Long lasting for an EDT. Excellent buy for citrus lovers.

fragrances-fanatic

Love love love this! LIME UPON LIME is what this fragrance is about. The fig, cardamom and musk come in and even it out. There's also a creaminess that gives me a lime-cream or key lime pie feeling...which I love. Will have to buy a back-up bottle, I love it so much. If you're into citrus/fresh fragrances, you'll like this.

Longevity is pretty good for a citrus fragrance - I could still smell it on my wrist 6 hours later. The lime top notes had faded by then and what was left was a unisex lovely freshness.

There's some note in here that conjures Lancome Miracle for me. If Lancome made a Miracle Fraiche, it might be a bit like Versense.

fawneyed_sita

I am getting a lot of indistinctive citrus and synthetic woods in this one. I get no fig, but I do get the suggestion of cardamom. I hate D&G Light Blue and I was hoping to find a tolerable citrus scent (plus the bottle, the green juice, I wanted it on my vanity!). I usually do better with bergamot with its floral nuances than orange/lemon (which strike me as household cleaner) so this was promising offering, but unfortunately it's a little too in the same vein of Light Blue for my preferences. There's nothing natural here for me, I prefer Un Jardin Sur Le Nil for a more natural citrus punch. It's not a bad scent, just not one I would like to wear on myself.

I tend to like a lot of perfumes which are green florals and aromatic. On the blotter, this was intriguing. On my skin, this is a laundry powder fresh, fruity fragrance. (Not powdery or soapy.) Very uplifting. Versace makes very 'perfumey' fragrances. Versanse has a place in my collection. It makes me feel clean and uplifted. Perfect for a walk oustide. Long lasting.

It does smell like it's a close relative of Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche. Chance Eau Faiche has pepper and cedar notes, and it's more masculine in its appeal. I have both. Versense is more casual and wearable.

Imagine a bowl of green, citrus flavored ice cream. Now sprinkle in the other notes, and stir it up until it’s like a shake. This scent smells so creamy and fresh on my skin. It’s one of my signatures. I hope I’m able to purchase this forever. I heard it was discontinued and that makes me extremely sad. It seems to last a long time on me which is kind of a rarity, which makes this perfume even more special to me. I’m in love with it.

Lilacs&Lavender

To answer your question Flamma - It would definitely suit a man. I think this fragrance would suit anyone who enjoys a light fresh citrus EDT with subtle silage. It is my go to on a hot summer day and I always receive compliments.

Although Versense is compared to Chanel Chance eau Fraîche, which I used to own, I prefer Versace Versence. And this is from someone who thinks that many Versace fragrances smell sharp and artificial.
Go for it.

Flamma

Ladies, how would you like this on a man?

mellyv1973

This is a long-lasting "freshie" that is quite uplifting. It is citrusy, green and musky. Gives me Spring vibes. Nice to have in one's collection because it is versatile.

Belovedme

Well what can i say.. My second a full 100ml bottle LOVE it. LOVE every single drop of this delicious Versense juice 💞 The best designer fragrance from this house. It is that damn good. Versace Versense my love forever ❤️since 2012

This is one of my favorite perfumes. Versace outdid themselves with this one. Immediately, you catch a very strong and energetic citrusy scent that lasts for quite some time. It smells expensive. It smells clean and luxurious, but in an adventurous and vibrant way. When it dries down, it gets a little bit warmer. This perfume opened a whole new world for me regarding scents. Fresh, white floral and strong citrusy scents sound so tempting to me in any perfume description after purchasing this. While the citrus is definitely dominant, the white floral does add its own attributes to it.

I tested yesterday beacause I read here this fragance can be universal or unisex. May be results like an exprensive cologne but inofensive. Fresh and waterly at first and comes into a poudery and calm lime and lemony fragance. Nothing new under the sun.

Addict2Perfume

Versense by Versace is a crisp citrus blend, clean white lilies, and bitter green olive tree leaves. This is a very easy and fresh scent to wear, but it still has personality – that olive tree sneaks in and gives it a bit of an edge because it’s not too sweet or feminine, it makes people take more notice than to just think it is nice. I walked past a co-worker in a stair well when I was wearing Versense and it was enough for him to pause his conversation with someone else and say “You smell good!” to me when I walked past him!

Blind bought because of claims of it being potentially unisex and a fig scent. The notes do look pretty appealing in general and seem like it should unisex. As a guy, I find this is indeed a feminine scent, despite the masculine elements. And although it is a nice scent, and I don't mind having another Versace in my collection, I can't help but feel regret for buying it, as I can't really wear it, and I don't appreciate the scent all as much as I would have liked to.

I was disappointed in the lack of fig. The fig is very subtle; this is not really a 'fig fragrance'. The olive tree is an uncommon note, and although you probably never smelled it in real life, somehow you can call it out right away. As if you naturally backward intuit the woody/olive oil smell.

It is not as light as the notes might make you might expect. It has a weight and cloudiness to it, like a long, frilly white skirt. It feels slightly over 50% synthetic, like a fairly realistic looking CGI character that still looks weird. The notion of being synthetic itself is distracting, and it bothers me that you can pick up on it so easily. Something about the floral musk gives a slight grandma smell to it.

Naomie

It’s good to spray it on sometimes if I feel a bit antisocial or have a wave of nausea I use this one cause it’s so citrusy it blends in perfectly 😂 I’ve got it after a quick sniff the lime got to me it smells like mojito! Nice but not that nice!

menopalu

This is so fresh and lovely. Citrus, white floral and vanilla. If you like citrus in a sweet form you should get this one. It's very special.

Unfortunately, Versace Vercense was discontinued in 2012, at least for Canada and the United States. it is not on the US official site.

I read a comment below saying that it was not discontinued, because the person who wrote the post was still seeing it stores.

Tons of fragrances stores do sell discontinued pfragrances all over the world, don't let this fact fool you.

BEST TIP:

To know if a fragrance is discontinued or not, please go to the designer official web site, if it is not there, then it is discontinued.

Particular fragrances do get discontinued in several countries, some get discontinued worldwide.

So refer to the designers official web sites.

Received this today expecting a fresh Green citrus instead i was transported back to Gucci Envy! I miss Envy so much I loved it and couldnt understand why Gucci would discontinue it. It was unique I thought. Then this has arrived and I am SO happy. Its not exactly the same so please others like me yearning for Envy dont be expecting an exact match because it is less fresh and softer than Envy but close enough to thrill me!

My favorite fragrance of all time. I will never get sick of it. It's definitely a dumb reach for me and during quarantine it's really the only thing I'm in the mood for. It always elevates my mood. Citrus is in the forefront, and the woods and white florals elevate it. It has the fresh shower gel feel without going cheap and musky. I know a lot of reviews say this is too sour and acidic but that's what I love about it. I also think skin chemistry plays a role in this one because my skin turns everything sweet. Most gourmands and heavy fragrances get especially cloying on me and make me feel sick. But, something bitter like this is dreamy on me. I also find that this lasts 7+ hours which is great for a freshie! It's even affordable. Literally nothing bad to say about this juice.

Jacquis

Gorgeous fresh spring/summer scent. So refreshing and bright to wear. Bottle is gorgeous and I'm tempted to get the signature, just so I can display them together. However, this Versace Versense frustrates me because the longevity is dismal. It wears like a body splash, unfortunately.

EDIT: I've worn Versace Versense quite often during the last month and have found that the longevity is very good. The humidity has been much lower than when I previously reviewed. I am eating crow on this one. It has been a perfect perfume, especially during this lockdown period.

Swedelish

I don't usually love Versace's fragrance DNA, but this DNA with these notes works. It develops seamlessly and smells balanced. I really, really like it. Imagine Crystal Noir stripped of gardenia, amber and ginger- Keep everything else but tone down the spices. Make it citrusy and juicy. Add narcissus and lily. That's Versense. It's my favorite from Versace and one I wear in spring and summer.

Sillage is close to half an arm's length, longevity is slightly below average; about 6 hours before I have to press to smell.

I also own Chance Eau Fraiche, my absolute favorite freshie. Same idea with this, but not a dupe. They are different enough that having both doesn't seem redundant in my collection. One is brighter, cleaner, more "Fraiche." The other is rounder, sweeter, more floral. Chanel has Chanel DNA, Versace has Versace DNA, which in my opinion makes them more different than alike.

This was a mostly-blind buy, small bottle on sale for $20. I just sniffed the cap and thought "ew". As soon as I put it back something drew me back in, what was it? To me, its a very unusual scent, I have been looking to expand my very small collection past the "seductive vanilla" type of smells that I find easy to reach for... This is quite the opposite. Green and in your face but not in a way that chokes you out. The power is quite mild but it makes a very interesting statement. It doesn't last long. I do get the lemon Pledge vibes but to be honest, I don't hate it. The fig and cedar notes make it transform into something completely different. I can't wait to see if people comment on it!

forbes_mq

I purchased this today and I want to do an immediate review.

First spray is a citrus bomb. It’s different than other citruses they are used - it smells a bit like lemon pledge in the beginning, but thankfully it fades quick to a white floral jasmine type moment. The dry down is a unique woody musk - probably from the olive tree note.

I find this to be very unisex - I can see an older woman wearing this, or a young man around 30. Definitely a summer vibe due to the citrus and white flowers. I got this because I wanted a citrus scent for spring/summer, as I normally hate citrus scents (even in the opening).

Sade800

This is well made and initially reminds me of a higher end Be Delicious or Adidas Pure Lightness (which I love)
Dry down is a little disappointing though and smells quite masculine. Also has a bit of a bathroom cleaner smell.

Nice enough though but I'm not motivated to buy a full size bottle. It seems overpriced to me.

JacquelineRenee

I adore Versense. A blast Bergamot and Jasmine with an interesting Olive sort of dry down. If you are looking for a green, zesty, fresh, and uncomplicated scent, this one is for you. I grow weary of fragrances that that try to be too clever, as there is something to be said for elegant simplicity.

emi

This has been reformulated. It starts the same, very citrusy with lush bergamot and juicy mandarin orange. In older version hint of fig came out but in the new one it is all about white florals. Even in the drydown. Older version was distinctively woody, borderline unisex. New one is very soft, clean white florals, very feminine. New one is nice, but I prefer older version.

mevans

It opens with a lot of lemon in particular, it's all citrus to start with. Citrus usually fades after a while and other notes come forward but this stays very fresh and citrusy. I get a bit of the woody notes, some green, not much musk, very little floral. It's good for a light, clean scent in summer heat but that's pretty much where it must stay. Nice scent but not the most versatile fragrance.

shusha

Lemony musk with a bit of cedar fuzziness. On me this leans towards a masculine type fragrance side more than I would like. Could not detect any florals or pear for that matter. Fairly linear. It's a lovely and fresh perfume but I would've liked it to have a bit more personality. Ok projection and longevity.

Lili_was_here

I made her acquaintance in the tax-free at Dublin airport in 2009.
It was love at first sniff and we have been happily in love ever since!

It´s fresh, clean, green flowery-fruity deliciousness! More flowers than fruits though. Extremely beautiful and I have received a lot of compliments for it.

Sillage: Very good, but not enourmous. During the first 20 minutes or so it lingers in the air of a room. Arms length after that.

Longevity: Approximately 6 hours on my skin.

Lemon grass..astonishing...
