I don't reach for this one very often, but every time I do I remind myself on why I bought it in the first place.

This scent is definitely a crowd pleaser. Every time I've shown this to someone and ask for their opinion, it's always well received. However, I think wearing it is a different story.

I do enjoy the scent, but it's on the verge of giving me a headache at times. I think there's a certain note that my brain just doesn't like, but I can't put my finger on it. That being said, it is an enjoyable fragrance. Wear this on a night out and you may turn some heads.

MiguelTA

Typical bubblegum nightclub fragrance. The EDP is more sophisticated. Eros is better superior for the same occasion

dakajojo

I absolutely love how the EDT of Night Vision smells... but the performance is atrocious. It projects decently for the first 30 minutes to an hour, then it is exclusively a skin scent. It fully fades off my skin within a few hours. If you are able to pick this up for super cheap, it wouldn't be bad to have in your collection... but if you want something that performs better, I would highly suggest you save your money and use it to get literally anything else in the Spicebomb line instead of this.

GregDL

Tried it for a sample, wore it for two days. I like it. Despite the name, considering how fresh and fruity it is, it strikes me personally more as a daytime scent. It's pleasant, a strong apple scent that is not synthetic. Do i need it on top of other apple scents I have? No. But it's the first Spicebomb I have tried and it does make me curious about the other ones.

smells better than soul train

DarthFragrance

I'm using up my sample of this today and I can see why it's most people's least favorite in the line. The EDP is a huge improvement. I don't think this smells very similar to Invictus. It does have a synthetic, bubble gum sweetness and it smells quite fruity, but it's not an aquatic. It just smells really forgettable and smells the lowest quality within the line. It doesn't smell bad at all, just nothing special. It smells like a decent pick up from a rack store, like an A&F fragrance or something. Not the usual quality V&R usually offers. The performance is also pretty bad in both longevity and projection.

I absolutely love this frag on my fiance! When he sprays this My head instantly snaps and I ask "what IS THAT?!" even tho I already know b/c its the only frag I do that with for some reason. The opening is just SO sexy to me! Off the bat I smell the Apple, Grapefruit, with some cardamon & nutmeg. Then a few mins later I get Sage, cardamon, Clove, Geranium & some red chilli pepper. Dry down I mostly picked up Tonka, woody notes, geranium & pepper. I smell it on him for about 6/8hrs and it projects nicely imo, as someone other than the wearer. I can smell it on him from about 3 feet away for the first 2hrs or so, and 1 foot for another 2, and the last 2/4hrs is closer to the skin & can smell while hugging. For the the price & the fact it's an EDT I find it's projection and longevity very acceptable! He had never worn the OG spicebomb when he received this flanker, so he had no expectations out of this frag, except to be good & last a decent amount of time. And it delivered on both. I find the sweet, woody, semi citrus, sweet pepper thing it has going on super sexy, super comforting, & super mass appealing. While it may not be super different or unique, if you have a trained nose you can def smell the differences it has to Eros, Y & invictius. And these differences push this flanker above the aforementioned. Just don't compare it too much to the original SB, And take into consideration that this is an EDT, and I think many could easily enjoy this frag. I rate this a 7.5/10. Very good, nd worth having imo.

Very nice smell. Not impressed on how long it lasts, you have to spray more sprays than you shoud for people to smell you. Just get the EDP at this point.

Aloha fragrance lovers!

TLDR; fresh spicy sweet, unique, decent performance, not safe blind buy, apple, pear, woody, Tonka bean notes.

This is an instant Spicebomb classic. I first smelt this scent from my Cousin who is a scientologist. At first he gatekept it from me, so I had to go to more drastic measures to acquire it (Don't Ask me what). This fragrance is something truly remarkable and unique, and definitely has a different Scent profile compared to the rest of the Viktor&Rolf Spicebomb line. Although it isn't particularly offensive I wouldn't say this should be used as an everyday scent due to its strong Tonka Bean and woody notes which could offend some people. The freshness and spiciness in this fragrance is radical! To allude to my personal experiences, the spiciness in it reminds me of when I would mouth off, my mother would make me eat Carolina reaper peppers that she got wholesale from my Uncle Gerard who worked on a farm that grew them. The freshness in it reminds me of the day I lost my virginity, come on guys we all know that feeling. From open to close this fragrance goes through a parabolic path with the concave being downwards. The opening was fierce and robust and smelt like a green apple, pear and alcohol combined. The dry down doesn't take long and you start to smell more sweetness to it, as well as some woodiness and even a hint of fresh sage. This fragrance is impeccable throughout its journey from opening to dry down and my nose was left stimulated throughout. Towards the end, my nose detected some notes of clove and geranium which was exciting due to these being more uncommon nowadays. I wouldn't say this cologne is a safe blind buy due to its difference from the other spice bomb's and uniqueness around this scent. The silage in this perfume is great, I measured it with my Kid and it's around 65 CM for you Imperial Measurement Folk, and 25.591 inches for the Americans. The performance on this cologne is really impressive, at night I went for a siesta and I could still smell it without going close to the area I applied it to (again don't ask). I calculated it out and this scent lasts on average 380 - 420 minutes with 10-12 sprays. Comparing this scent to the other spice bombs, this DNA has much better performance as a result of the strong Tonka bean infusion deep within it and the silage is comparable to Viktor&Rolf's SpiceBomb Infrared which I smelt at Macy's. If somebody asked me to compare this scent to an outdoor setting, I would have to say that I am reminded of a moderately warm evening of about 293.15K in the 4th week of April as dawn settles over the horizon into dusk. Enough Chit-chat, I've covered the basics of this cologne and if you want to read a more in-depth review you can read it on my blog as well as my other in-depth reviews.
Now time for the ratings:

Overall Scent: 12/10
- this DNA breaks the scale I don't care about mathematical accuracy
- from opening to closing I loved it and find most will as well if they have as keen of a nose as me

Performance: 9.1/10
- I only had to do around 12 sprays to get over 435 minutes of longevity which is really good
- if it was any more I would have had the performance as perfect

Sillage: 8.7/10
- 65 cm scent trail
- left nice linger when I tested with my kid

Blind Buy Value: 6.2/10
- Only blind buy this if you are confident in your taste as a fragrance fanatic, or if you are confident in my nose's ability to perceive odors
- Other than that this scent is unique and I say its best you smell it first at your local department store or fragrance shop

Final Verdict:
This scent is unique, delightful, and masculine. Smell first at your department store and if it meets your fragrance needs buy it.

Salutations Fragrance flock, I hope I could be at assistance.

Bizzy1995

A loud fresh apple & citrus opening with a hint of cardamom spice. Dries down to a semi-sweet woody fragrance. This remind me a lot of Versace Eros. I like this fragrance but it is nothing unique. Definitely a crowd pleaser

Allen-at-home

Translation of FranVV - It has been a gift, my first Spicebomb, a disappointment, not because it smells bad, but because it doesn't last at all, it doesn't project anything, I don't see anything remarkable about it.

FranVV

Ha sido un regalo, mi primera Spicebomb, una decepción, no porque huela mal, sino porque no dura nada, no proyecta nada, no le veo nada destacable.

Crofton

I think people just hate it because it’s different to the other spice bombs. If you take that out of the equitation it’s a solid fragrance performs & lasts a decent amount. If you’re not a huge spice bomb fan who’s going to dislike it because it's nothing like the others then it’s well worth giving it a go. Doesn’t deserve the hate it gets.

OAKESKINEN

A weird mix of spices and a dried fruit smell. Not for me.

Angelus Libri

Not sure if Viktor and Rolf wanted to make an aquatic. This smells like a pure aquatic to my nose with some restrained hints of the signature Spicebomb spices in the background. On first spray I was instantly reminded of Zara 'Seoul'. I even detected some calone to my surprise. A nice waft of the yolky and musty goodness. Decent green blue freshie. Projects about maybe 2ft.

Professional.Sunflow27

A great mass appealing apple fragrance. In my opinion you can get away with this fragrance in any season. To my nose the opening is a blast of fresh, spicy apple and in the dry down, the chili pepper and nutmeg notes add some depth and warmth to the fragrance. This will last you the whole day at work/school and will most likely get you complements.

ehgordoesbeats

Got it as a gift, smells nice. Heavily underrated. Good scent for warmer autumn days. Smells like super fresh apple slices served with apple juice. Its soury-sweet. I recommend it for autumn or spring. Projection and longevity are fine. 3 hours of projection and smells for atleast 5 hours. You wont fill up rooms, but people walking next to you will smell you for 2 hours at least. Great fragrance!

Jayfrommaine

To my nose off first impression it just reminds me of Ralphs club edp... Will give it a full wearing and see if that opinion changes.

TheDogfatherHTX

The green flanker for the Spicebomb line. I tried it at a Sephora fairly early on in my fragrance journey and was surprised by how good it smelled. I committed to buying a bottle to get the full experience. Here's how it went;

Scent:
Opening is fruity, spicy, and fresh. Right away I can pick out all the top notes, but the green apple and the cardamom are the stand-outs. I also get a minty feeling, but I'm not sure from what. In the dry down the apple is still there, but I also get the cloves, tonka, and a little woodiness. That fresh mint smell is still there too. To me, this scent has a distinct "sportiness" to it that sets it apart from the rest of the Spicebomb lineup. For comparative purposes, it smells like a spicier version of YSL Y EDP.

Performance:
Initial projection is strong at around 6 feet. Sillage matches that with a noticeable scent trail. After a few hours it was still projecting about arms length and leaving a decent scent trail. Altogether it lasted over 12 hours on my skin, making it certified eternal.

When to wear:
This is an all season, day or night fragrance. The spiciness makes it work in cold weather, and the freshness makes it work in warm weather. You could probably get away with wearing it to the office, but it wouldn't be my first pick for an office scent. It could work well for a date, though.

Blind buy:
If you like fruity, spicy, and fresh scents, this would be a safe blind buy for you. Nothing really disappointing about it.

Final verdict:
I can see where this could be a little generic smelling to some people, it does smell similar to some other fragrances. However, I think it's a great addition to the line. The scent is mass appealing, it has solid performance, and it's affordable as well. It's not my favorite of the Spicebomb line, but it will be what I grab if I want something with the Spicebomb DNA when it's warm outside.

Scent: 8/10
Longevity: 10/10
Sillage: 8/10

I liked the EDP and figured I would blind buy the EDT from Nordstrom Rack as the gift set was on sale. Huge mistake. It smells like Axe body spray. It lacks all of the complexity of the EDP. I keep going back to it thinking maybe I misjudged it and maybe I’ll pick up some other note this time, but no—it just transports me back to my high school locker room when 30 boys would douse themselves in body spray before next period. It’s the cheapest smelling non-cheap cologne I’ve tried so far.

Spicebomb Night Vision EDT from the house of Viktor & Rolf is a fragrance that defies the negative reviews set by popular opinions found on platforms like the Fragrantica Review Section or your favorite YouTuber. Don't let the negativity sway you, because this fragrance is a true diamond.

Night Vision is more than just amazing – it's a king among kings in my fragrance collection. I managed to get a fantastic deal on the gift set from Nordstrom Rack for around $60, making it a no-brainer. This fragrance is a solid and captivating blend of spices that will hook you from the first spray. The warm and fresh spiciness is simply irresistible, and I guarantee that many others will feel the same. In fact, I've received numerous compliments while wearing it, extending beyond my wife (although she loves it too).

Admittedly, the Spicebomb line is just over that $100 per bottle range when purchased at the full retail price, but it's worth it when considering the remarkable quality the line offers in general. In my humble opinion, any of the Spicebomb flankers are a safe bet, and Night Vision is the perfect example. It's an absolute gem that shouldn't be missed.

don00

Super generic, nothing special, not worth the money

Gionnijulius1820

I absolutely love when my bf wears this perfume! Idk what all the bad reviews are about, but to me this semi sweet, herbal, spice draws you in and smells so sexy. I smell this on him for a good 6-8hrs after applying, so maybe some reviewers are going nose blind, easily done with a spicy scent profile. This is perfect for winter, fall & spring. very versital cologne. I can def also see this cologne being dressed up or down. But when he wears this I want to shove my face in his neck. I'll probably always reorder this for him. He likes it very much as well!

Thriller57

The tobacco scent is toned down making it more palatable to me, my wife just hates that smell overall. Not something who is younger should wear.

usernoname

Incredible smelling scent, but weak performance. Lasts maybe 2 hours, if that.

I think too many people go by what their favorite YouTube reviewer says, I think a lot of people haven’t smelled it, but because a YouTube reviewer says it’s not good they come on here and say that they don’t like it.. I think Spice Bomb night vision EDT is great, I get a lot of compliments when I wear it, people randomly stop me on the streets to ask me what I’m wearing

AaronCallegari

My first spicebomb, but this fragrance I’m struggling to love. It smells great and it does a great job of balancing the spicy notes with the sweet/fruity I’ll give it that. But I always seem to sneeze a lot when I wear this and it “stays” in my nose (if you get me). without doing my own study I’m guessing it’s from certain ingredients in this. But with this considered I will give it:
Performance: 7/10
Smell: 7/10

Phoenix Kuzey

doesnt deseve the hate it gets and i stand by this, fresh but also spicy scent that dries down to the perfect masculine, sexy and spicy but sweet scent that can be used in summer. i heard people saying it doesnt have any spice but idk what they r talking about, any more spice than this and you cant use it in summer. lasts around 6-8 hours for me and projection is also strong. my top 5 fragrance atm, it smells like a more intricate version of spicebomb extreme adding more sweetness and citrus.

Rojo99

So many fragrance snobs on here saying this is “boring”. This is a compliment beast although the edp version is better in performance I enjoy this one way more.

COFFISDEAD

Dont understand the hatr for this, got 150ml home today and i love what this scent is giving me, smelling amazing tbh

ashroloie

This definitely doesn't deserve the hate it's getting. The original spicebomb dna is not the best for summer wear so totally get they would release something for summer time under the spicebomb name. Yes it's not as nice smelling as the original but it's still pretty decent.

I wouldn't buy this full retail price but if I seen a good offer for a small bottle perhaps I'd snap one up no problem.

Mmmmm10

Its a good fragrance , sweet and you can get some spices too , it sure have the sb dna ,its absolutely versatile , the only problem is the longevity , with 3 sprays you get max 1 hour maybe overspraying it can be better

aKa_anthrax

I really don't get the hate for this one tbh, I do kinda wish I bought the EDP instead as it's a tad weak but I really like it, yeah it's not extremely spicy but I really like the cardamom and fruity notes, spiced fruit is my fave take on fruits in perfume, and given how cheap you can find it through discounters I think it's def a good safe blind buy.

D2Briggs

smells just like Invictus and Ralph's Club, boring. haven't received one compliment with it on yet and i'm not surprised. 5/10

Lgapafto

Too strong citrus for a spicebomb fragrance

Tcoco249

Smells like Versace Eros, don’t get it if you have Eros. Don’t listen to the guy above me. The edt and edp smell completely different. I bought the edt because that’s what they had in stock. The edp is way better.

Jaben4Real

This is a fantastic fragrance. I get a strong Cardamom note where as most get the apple and fruity notes. Theres a touch of spice on the back end that resembles black pepper. The performance unfortunately isnt the greatest. But its not terrible. My only issue is this is very close to Most Wanted EDP Intense because of the Cardamom. So my decant may be the only bottle of this i ever purchase.

littlejssn

It smells a lot like Coach for Men to me, an extremely cheap fragrance. Powdery and very sweet. It does differentiate by having a nuttiness to it, but I have to say that I prefer Coach. A very simple scent for the number of notes listed. I'm not really sure who would want to smell like this, quite juvenile imho.

FragZappa

I would say fresh spicy accurately describes this fragrance. Plus that Victor & Rolf bomb DNA that's in all the spicebombs and flowerbombs. This isn't my thing, I might use this as a sporty fragrance but that's about it. I'm middle aged so it's maybe just not as appropriate for me, I could see a young guy rocking this fragrance but not for me.

PradaGodFatha

People are just gatekeeping this hidden gem LOL Criminally underrated. Smells like eros mixed with invictus, in the best way possible- it leans more to the fresh invictus-like vibe. Night vision EDT easily replaces both of those iconic frags

Year-round, signature scent worthy. This is sexy, delicious and unique.
The opening is my favorite part; It's fresh and clean, but also sweet, spicy and sexy, with a buttery savoryness. It sounds like a lot but it blends together smoothly.
The silage reminds me of being at a mall and you smell all of the sexy fragrances and food from the food court mixed together

HugoFragranceReviews

I really liked this cologne,I didn’t mind that it didn’t contain the original spice bomb DNA but the main problem with this fragrance is the longevity it fades away extremely quick after 30 minutes -1 hour I couldn’t even smell anything.

Flavorblade

Good distance night driver. I decanted my bottle and keep one in the car. Very good for that specialization. I missed the whole Invictus wave so that particularly note style doesn't trigger quickly with me, consequently I get the pepper and spicyness in this where others get an Invictus clone. Leaves a Green Lantern scent trail on city streets.

Dumbplings

Spicy apple, reminds me of dahab kajal only because it is also spicy apple even though the smell isn't exactly the same. And if you were to compare the notes the notes are similar to Dolce amalfi xerjoff...never tried that one though. Some other spicy apple I have tried is dear polly by vilhelm but that one smells more like impact intense rather than spicebomb night vision

epseja

Starts with a bright, tart sweetness; apples and mandarin zest with a touch of sage. Dry down reveals the restrained Spicebomb DNA hidden beneath, bringing black pepper, Tonka bean, and a bit of sweet Marzipan into the mix to create a a nice warming counterpoint. This is a very versatile scent, working in any season except maybe fall, and great for day or night.

My only gripe is that the scent doesn't have the best sillage or staying power, so a reapplication may be necessary for a long day or night out. This great flanker is the Yin to Spicebomb Extreme's Yang.

torreykongjr

The open is a nice blast of apple, citrus, more lighter with the spices as well as the wood. It dries down to a close to the skin freshie/apple/woody.

It's a really nice scent, smells very much of the discontinued Kilo by Axe. Unfortunately the toilette disappears after an hour. The parfum projects more loudly.

HansyBarts

Doesn't smell bad but it is doesn't smell good. This fragrance is definitely forgettable and there are way better options. I will give it a 4/10.

Cristinio

Does anyone know by any chance how much a full bottle weighs in total? I just bought a bottle from a shop and if i look at the bottom of the bottle there is some juice missing. I weighted my bottle and it weighs 322g (11.4 ounces). I would really want to know how much juice is missing. Thanks

Dumbplings

You're looking at the best spicebomb right here, because as a hater of the typical spicebomb DNA this is actually different and I enjoy this one. Fruity apple and soapy cardamom with some vanilla and black pepper in the dry down. This is a bigger compliment beast than any of the other spicebombs and this one is to pick up the ladies. Also can we just appreciate this actually being like a fresh flanker for spicebomb? that's also a bonus none of the spicebombs are freshies this one is though so I totally love this scent. Possibly the most hated spicebomb in the fragrance community yet flying completely under the radar and secretly the best gets hate for no reason other than simply not having any spicebomb dna in it. People that hate this are people that just expected the typical boring spicebomb dna like they did in all the other flankers

prince64

Mr Spicebomb Disappears
I still remember when I smelled the original Spicebomb just launched in the market. It was love at first sniff. A riot of spicy, smoky, and leathery notes, warm, deep, seductive, full of virile accords. I like to think of my Garam Masala when I wear it. Its successor Spicebomb Extreme has arrived to be even more addictive. It seems like a dream, too good to be true. I can't understand the motivation that drove V&R to create Night Vision. The third flanker of Viktor & Rolf's "Spicebomb" colognes is about 0% individuality, 100% Invictus sensation, a completely out of water fish in the vast world of fragrances. What a mess! I miserably do not get any hint of the original or extreme masterpiece. DNA testing would reveal that they are not related. It seems as Mr Spicebomb disappears.

Spicebomb Night Vision opens with a blast of freshness and sweetness, a greenish fruity-spicy mix of cardamom, zesty citrus fruit, and sour apple above all. All these ingredients are green as the colour of the grenade-like bottle. For a moment, I thought about a fresh cologne; the minty cardamom amplifies the green freshness in the opening. I can't help but recall Invictus EAU DE TOILETTE in my mind. On contact with my skin, it releases a disgusting, cloying sweetness that almost certainly satisfies the tastes of sweet bomb-loving teenagers. But I personally find it onoxiously sweet, exactly the opposite of my favorite genres.

The scent matures into the heart notes of sage, geranium, and lavender. All these herbaceous notes give the fragrance a fougère touch. I don't get too much of the hot black spices; chilli and pepper are subdued and pushed back. And so do the nutmeg and clove, too feeble to my nose. The spicy heart it is not at all similar to an exploding bomb, but rather similar to an insignificant puff. Instead, it is so damn aromatic, in a good way. Miserably, the sweetish accord is still there.

Finally, the fresh blast of sensations leaves a long-lasting trail of tonka, patchouli, and warm woods. The scent gains softness at the base and ends with the sweetness of grilled tonka beans, powdery and bitter nuts, further strengthened by woody, balmy, and dark notes. Clean patchouli mixes well with the sweet notes and is not intrusive. There is a tinge of musk, which gives off synthetic.

So, I strengthen my initial impression. Night Vision is a replica of Invictus EAU DE TOILETTE, Wanted, a crossbreed of those colognes, nothing disruptive here. And if I really took the time to think about it, I could name many more. Still, if you love any of the previous, you might also love this one. It has moderate sillage and longevity on the skin, acceptable for an evening and night scent. Indeed, it lasted much longer on the clothes, and I would say a few days. It suits the cold months of fall and winter. The cologne is good, yet I'm not a fan, and I doubt I will buy an entire bottle. I suggest not blind buy this one if you are fond of the original and not a lover of sugary things.

I base the review on a decant I have owned since 2020 (BC 62RD1A, PD 2018-12).

doodluv

'Smells like' section is spot on, but I'm surprised there aren't even more upvotes for Invictus.

Invictus is all I'm getting really. Sweet, aquatic, and a synthetic green note similar to the green apple in YSL Y.

No Spicebomb DNA here.

Just get Invictus/Hawas if you want this scent profile.

AmoreProfumi

You’d think judging by the notes I was really gonna like this..cause I like apple in scents & I mean I do like it.. but it didn’t wow me..I think maybe more so because I feel it doesn’t smell SPICE BOMB worthy.. like it’s doesn’t fit the line.. it’s too tame.. there’s a dash of spice here but I mainly got freshness.. which there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the scent it is nice, but it’s my least favorite of the line.

renperd

The opening threw me back to the late 80s when I wore the first iteration of Givenchy's Xeryus. Pre-reformulation it was a daring fragrance with lots of florals like jasmine, violet, lily of the valley, rose, etc. Night Vision keeps that initial similarity for a minute or two before it goes its own way. It’s very faintly reminiscent of the original Spice Bomb, but goes a sweet, green route for the rest of the time. Night Vision is well made, decent with a great green / sweet balance. A qualm would be strength: too mild mannered. In the far drydown it brings to mind the musky fruitiness of Xeryus Rouge. Pity it lacks strength.

Dumbplings

Apple & cardamom is such a great combination that rarely ever gets used in perfumery, i'd prefer to see a lot more apple cardamom scents amongst the large vast sea of basic citrus scents out there

AlaskanAngel

Generic, overly sweet, typical "masculine" cologne frag. Three strikes, I'm out. This was not made for me.

Review of official carded spray sample that came free with purchase.

Opaulino22

For it being a Viktor & Rolf, this is very trash in my honest opinion. It doesn’t smell bad at all, it smells nice and can pull compliments but its Extremely boring. There’s an infinite amount of fragrances id recommended before this one. Easy pass

Lykopa

This is like if Eros by Versace was only slightly more tolerable. It still smells like something a guy would wear to a club and try and hit on women and not leave them alone. And I couldn’t even smell the apple. It smells cheap and acrid.

Joxa

Smells generic or like another fragrance I've smelled before but can't quite figure out which one. Nothing too special or impressive.

Spede

I think this smells exactly like Hugo by Hugo Boss. That was released way back in 1995. I don't know if its cloned on purpose or just a coincidence. 6/10 for me

Reminds me of eros. Smells like a mixture of eros and another fragrance i cant really place... I can see why some people dont like it but personally its smells pretty good, especially the opening. Good for nights out probably but id say all the eros are better bets and a bit cheaper too i think.

Tman98

I have a nearly full bottle of this stuff if anyone wants to buy it or swap.

greg.3

I picked this up at Nordstrom Rack for half price ($78/150mL) a few days ago, and have been wearing it daily since then. I knew the EDP had better reviews, but I've smelled the EDT several times at ULTA/Sephora and was always pleased with the fresh Invictus-like scent. This is NOT remotely similar to the original Spicebomb or the other flankers, this is a unique scent. I think most of the negative reviews are from people who expect it to share DNA with the original Spicebomb. Performance is decent for an EDT, I got a solid 1.5 hours of fair projection off my forearm, and 5+ hours of intense updraft from 3 sprays on my lower/mid torso under my T-shirt. No complaints on the performance.

I wouldn't pay the retail price for this, but if you can get it at a discounter (or Nordstrom Rack, while it lasts) - I think it's a safe buy if you like the Invictus-similar scent profile.

DieByHerSide

This is the fragrance I wear while playing Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell games.

Miss_Nathalie

I actually love this as a woman. I recieved it as a surprise sample and im gonna keep it for myself. It reminds me of casablanca but a lighter and fresher version of it. Casablanca was too sweet and heavy but this one is just perfect for me.

Ca1983

I found a bottle at my local Tj Maxx...Found it for 49 dollars 3oun bottle. I don't get all the hate and the 3.4 rating.. It smells extremely good there is a noticeable similarly to invictus but this is fresher and less sweet..I prefer this over invictus all day. It's also pretty versatile I would say sample this but it is blind buy safe in my opinion... Performance is good 6 hours with pretty strong projection. Overall I think it's a great scent..

Abdulrehman Maqsood

Got a sampler, here are my thoughts:

The first minute can't smell anything but sharp alcohol, afterwards becomes quite spicy and gradually becomes very sweet and smells like fresh apple juice.

10 minutes later: Still quite sweet and apple-like, but its has mellowed a bit and there is an ever so slight nutty/creamy smell. Many would probably disagree but Acqua Di Gio smells almost exactly this to me as well at the 10 minute mark, but this is much better blended and better performing.

The mellow down: Surprisingly its still very apple-y and spicy, there is an added green/woody flavour here as well now. Still projecting very strongly

After a while: I'm really liking this state of smell the fragrance is at right now. Unfortunately its pretty much a skin scent by now. Its really woody/dry green with a touch of bubble gum sweet.

Overall its a fantastic fragrance but the smell notes don't do anything for me, good thing I got a tester. I'm sure that people would love the smell on me, but i'm not really enjoying it that much.

Fluffykittens

Smells phenomenal on a man. On my boyfriend it last all day until late evening! 10/10

kingderella

I knew from reviews that it wouldn't smell much like the original Spicebomb, and that's ok with me. I read that it was fresh, and that it had green apple notes, which sounds great. I wanted to like this.

Alas, nope, not a good fragrance to my nose. It's not terrible... but let's aim a little higher than "not terrible", shall we? It's so generic and has none of the magic that I expect from V&R.

I got no green apple from the opening, only a hint of mint. Otherwise a lot of "generic perfume" notes, but at least it was fresh and masculine, and a tiny little bit dark and seductive.

As it went on all darkness evaporated, and it became very sweet in a synthetic, cloying way. I was reminded of CK Euphoria for men, and Invictus. Perfectly appropriate if you're in your teens or twenties, but truly nothing special at all. I expected more.

Mjchaelj

It reminds me too much of Eros. Idk this just smells like a generic Macy’s counter fragrance. It’s ok but this doesn’t resemble any other Spicebomb. It should’ve been in another new line.

6/10

TimoTimonen

The only bad thing about this fragrance is that it was released under the Spicebomb line. It V&R just released this as a standalone "Night Vision" scent, I bet it would have done much better. There's a really nice fruity tonka scent throughout the life of this one. Not much vanilla or spice, or any "invictus bubble gum". I'd place this between Y EdP, Wanted, and Halloween Man X as a scent profile.

112237

A sage-aldehyde scent blended terribly to produce something awful.

AkiraStyle

This fragrance isn’t bad, it’s nothing to write home about though.

I’m not sure if anyone else is getting this but because of the vanilla - apple - citrus combo I’m getting a lot of similarity between this and Eros edp.

Good for a night out. But I rarely reach for it because there are just more impressive options in my collection.

bacon247365

I think this gets hate because of fragrance youtubers and because it doesn't smell like the original. I don't think its necessarily a bad thing. I love this scent, perfect for summer nights.

Ecafnaem38

Got a big bottle it opens similar to invictus dna but different I like it but it’s mot unique enough to wear it.
I got this trading Dior Savauge since I got gifted an extra bottle and already had a 6oz.

Edit: wow this is a beast it still smelled strong the next day. when I wear invictus aqua going to try to layer with this and see how I like the mix

willnpc40

Surprised at the so so review score. Maybe if it were priced a little lower it would have a better score. Also, it smells nothing like Spicebomb...maybe thats another reason why the score is a little low, people were expecting it to smell similar...

But overall its pretty nice. I could see this being worn day or night, and really any season.

7/10 Nice

lovethatsmellalot

After spraying it, I immediately noted the similarity between this and Azzaro Wanted. Sweet, cinnamon spice, with a definite masculine cologne vibe. The green of the bottle is interesting as it conjures a different feeling, and gold would have been the color that I would thing is more congruent with the scent.

Note to self: although this smells good, it would be redundant to have both this and Wanted By Night.

Aarber

I really dont think this is a bad fragrance. Yes, it doesnt really smell like the original or the extreme, but I dont think that is a bad thing. This is more easy going and easier to wear, like a daytime spicebomb. Longevity is not super good, not like the other flankers or the original. It´s definitely fresher, cleaner than what you would expect and I think that some people got disappointed and now aren´t willing to give it a chance.

Kuty22

My boyfriend owns Eros - I gifted him - definitely love it on him
Another one I quite enjoy is Diesel Fuel for Life
I received a sample SpiceBomb EdT and I'm in love 😍 to my nose it is a relaxed type of charming, sexy and alluring.
I like sweet scents even for men, needs to be either unisex or with enough masculine traits, I don't mind sweet as long as it's 'mainly'

Abzozo

What were they trying to do here?Such a dud from Nathalie Lorson.

Mariyamokshina

I did not expect it to smell so aquatic . I was looking for spice but this one just smells too much like ocean notes .

Joshhiggins32

I see this gets some hate and I don’t get it. I find this fun and easy going. It can be sharp in the initial spray but lays down very nicely and can work in day or evening. I find it to be sexy and really don’t have anything bad to say. It’s not my top favorite but I really enjoy it when I wear it and get compliments. I am finding that fragrances last very well on me and I haven’t had any problems with performance. I found this when it first came out and still love this just as much. It may not be in the top 5 but it’s definitely in my top 20 out of 125.

SimplDude

Like any other fragrances, this one cannot please everybody but my nose likes it and its scent profile. Maybe it runs along the same vein as Pure XS, Invictus, Wanted, or Stronger w/ You but I think it has its own personality but nothing really groundbreaking or special here to hype about. Overall, performance is pretty decent for its price point. But between this and it's sibling the Infrared which I also own, I prefer the latter.

“Let us spread the scents of peace and kindness. The two most beautiful fragrance in the world that will cost you nothing and will get you a totally different kind of compliments” 🙏

beberodri

V&R should have made new line of fragrances and made this one its debut because it barely resembles the other flankers, at least to me, this one is different and in a good way, the opening is very green fruity, like a high quality apple scented car freshener, the mid dry down in my opinion is not that pleasant, too dry and peppery but the base dry down makes up for it, tonka and woodsy with the opening fruits, it smells similar to the most wanted

I do think it’s overpriced, not worth $100 for a 3.4, it doesnt perform like the other flankers nor does it smell like them, can be a year round frag if doesn’t get over 85 where you live, safe to wear and a compliment getter, do not blind buy if your expecting the spicebomb dna

8/10

Invasionbg

Another disappointment... Lovely scent with poor longevity 😤😤😤
Smells so good, sweet opening and spicy middle, very ambroxie dry down but still atracting.
They should have name it Abroxane Bomb.

If I could go back in the past I would rather not buying it and give a chance to the EDP version.
However, shame on you Viktor & Rolf! And double shame on you L'Oreal!!

neodave

It's funny to see all the comparisons. To me this is 100% Eros in the dry down. Slightly different opening but the part that counts.... the dry down.... is Eros. Not hating on it because I like Eros but it would be redundant for me to have both.

Jando_859

I don’t see the hate that people have with this cologne. Blind bought it and I like it. I wear it day or night. I like the description that “TheThe” gives in the comments below. He’s right about the women. Women love this cologne, I wear this cologne when I’m out and about and it always has women tell me that I smell good or asking what am I wearing. I see some comments that the cologne doesn’t last on some people but we all have different skin. It last up to 7-8 hours on my skin and the sillage is pretty well giving the fact that women and men give compliments when I wear it.

Longevity: 8/10
Silage: 8/10

Diddleydaddy6901234

I'm getting strong Eros vibes off this 🤷♂️

Incinerary

This is an interesting fragrance where I can see the love and hate for it. The fragrance in and of itself is actually good. It has good performance for a fresh fragrance, smells good, versatile for all year except hot summer days, and would probably get compliments. So why the hate?
1. Poor Marketing - Being titled Spicebomb, it smells nothing like the original Spicebombs, and that caught everybody off guard. Furthermore, with V&R being a Niche brand, you would expect something more unique rather than synthetic and safe. The EDP will probably be way more successful now that everybody is aware of what to expect, and also with the addition that it will probably perform better and have a better scent character.
2. You've smelled this before. I'm no fragrance guru, but even still, to me this smells exactly like Invictus EDT with a hint of Spicebomb.
3. It's expensive, $75 for 90mL on eBay.

For these reasons, I like many others simply cannot recommend it and wouldn't be surprised if it gets discontinued like Spicebomb Fresh. If you're a fragrance collector with dozens or even hundreds of fragrances, this might being worth checking out. Otherwise, if you're like me with only 14 fragrances or less, spend your money elsewhere.
My recommendation - if you're interested and have the money, get the EDP which has been getting way better reviews, or get Invictus EDT, which smells very similar, better performance, and is cheaper at $52 for 100mL.
As for me, I already own Invictus and will be selling this to get something else.

ZackTJ

Bought this at Sephora during Black Friday in 2019. Was looking into expanding my collection at the time and I have a pretty specific taste and I liked this when I picked it up. It's a mass appeal scent so it's nothing terribly unique, though bot saying it's bad; I've gotten many compliments while wearing this scent, but over time I noticed how similar it is to Invictus. I have a mostly full bottle (~90%) but I don't see myself really using it anymore, would be up for a trade.

sauceheadz

This fragrance is why you have to try things for yourself instead of taking the YouTube reviewers opinions. If you listen to them this fragrance is trash and you shouldn’t waste your time. Wrong it’s not trash. It’s not niche snob-head or nothing like that. But it smells very good and will get women’s attention plus you will like the way it smells on you yourself. Yes it’s way different from the other spicebombs a but who said it had to be the same or similar. It’s not bad because it goes a different direction than what people wanted or expected. Me personally I don’t like flankers that smell the same as the original unless the original had performance issues. Spicebomb had no such issues. I love it and will be purchasing a full bottle once the summer cools down in late October. Summer in Texas is maybe a month away from kicking off so I will just wear my sample out.

The scent is sweet very sweet but it does have character it has spices but they are smooth spices and not spicy spices if that makes sense. And the smooth spice blends well and sits behind that ultra sweetness giving it a sort of perfect contrast for such a mass appealing fragrance. It’s kind of linear but it does change slightly. I was surprised I liked it so much because all I ever heard about it was hate I was expecting it to be bad. I’m glad I gave it a fair shake

Flex Valentino

Just got this. This is like 95% similar to Born in Roma. I love that fragrance so obviously like this too.
I didn't need it tho seeing as i own born in roma, run wild, wanted, and all the invictus line but i wanted it.

ajmiah

This smells exactly like a weaker/ less intense version of Azzaro Wanted (if you've ever gotten your nose on that one). Although I like the scent, the Azzaro is way too loud and too intense for me. So, this V&R Night Vision could be a more wearable alternative. Not a bad scent, but doesn't make me excited to buy a bottle.

smellsbells

no depth to this- its very faint and bright but poor longevity and sillage on me. Smells very bland and blah and linear. wow what a disappointment.

rsayamyan

This is my first bottle I've ever bought for myself, and I'm in love with it. I smell the apple, cardamom, sage & tonka in this, it's just gorgeous. It lasts 8+ hours on my skin, I can't really talk about the sillage but I smell my frag when I turn around lmao. It's pricey ngl. And I've gotten 10 compliments since I've bought it, my dawg been complimenting me back to back for 3 days lol. Love it!

Whulum

This is very unique but in a mainstream kind of way. Still it has something going for it. You really want to take a second smell until you have done so the second time, then it feels really boring and something you very quickly grew tired of. Didnt take more than 1 minute to reach that stage so would never buy this fragrance

JimmyMisfit

Wow, this makes me hungry for spice cake and cider.  This really feels more like a gourmand than a fougere because I definitely get the apple and nutmeg.  With the name Spice Bomb, I was worried this would be too powerful, but not really.  It's only an eau de toilette so it's not going to end friendships with anyone allergic although it's not an intimate skin scent either.  I'm not sure who would wear this or when.  It doesn't seem right for the office or a date (unless you're going out w/ a cannibal). I don't get "green freshness" or "dark mystery" like they claim but I really do like the smell. Perhaps for lounging by the fireplace with a loved one during the holidays this would work well.

B-FOCUS

Great juice in my opinion! I get many compliments from the EDT version over the EDP! I have both and I think the EDT is more wearable! Happy New Years!

Boxing Wiz

I have a full bottle of this if anyone is interested in making a trade.

mikecch

To my nose, this is a mass-appealing gourmand rather than anything oriental or a fougere.

Green apple juice and spiced white chocolate.

Apples dominate the opening, supported by some fresh (? citrus) and spicy notes. The citrus is not well defined on my skin.
The sweetness of tonka appears after some minutes, as hotter spices begin to surface.
The dry down is a generic sweetness, after the fruits disappear.

The performance is above average for an EdT. Projection is very strong to start.

This is a scent for younger men, and would appeal to younger people. I can see how the ladies would think this smells good on men.

For me, this scent is overly simple, and I must say, I have experienced much better examples of apple and tonka on cheaper fragrances.

I think the Riflesso is a much better apple & tonka perfume, in the same price range.

davidross

The first time I smelled this fragrance I was in a department store. I picked up on the immediate notes of mandarin/apple but after the initial whiff, it reminded me of a high school locker room in a weird and synthetic sort of way. This fragrance smells immature, synthetic, yet surprisingly not ultra sweet (still very sweet don't get me wrong). The sillage was really poor. Ultimately this fragrance disappoints both in smell and in performance. It smells similar to a can of AXE Phoenix, but with less of the alcohol smell yet the same immature/synthetic feel and for close to $100 retail it feels like a rip-off
The initial opening is bright coming from a citrus smell, but the mid and base notes disappoint as the fragrance dries down. The tonka bean feels almost nauseating. Save yourself some money (if you are purchasing retail) and purchase something that will get better projectivity and performance.
Overall the scent feels very generic/"safe", almost like something every other man would wear. I generally dislike this fragrance because it lacks uniqueness and the WOW that you (should) get from smelling a quality fragrance.

thethe

Classic, fragcom hates it but women love it. Glad I’ve got a bottle before it’s discontinued. Testament of the times.
conglomerates did their market research. Women love it..mostly women under the age of 30(which lest face it, is the demographic most men gravitate to.)
The snobs who give it poor marks are displaced and are FAR too long in their supposed frag journey.
Enjoy happiness with this one. Don’t take life too seriously. This fragrance has got a lot of invested dollars behind it and it works. Youtubers are not the ones out there REALLY testing it in the field. They’re a figment of their former selves enjoying a HOBBY.

GoldIris

I like the bottle and the whole concept, but the scent is awful. A generic sweet synthetic mess, that's it.

NoWordSalads

An absolute disaster. The worst use of Tonka bean in designer perfumes. Smells coumarin. Yuck. Save your money get a decant or test at stores.

piyux

Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Night Vision Men EDT opens with a strong projection of very sweet, green mandarin, green apple, and spicy notes. The opening is delicious, sharp, the notes are well defined, and it feels very pleasant. The tonka bean is a base note, but its intense sweetness comes up as soon as the fragrance is applied, it makes the fragrance feel delectable. This sweetness is counterbalanced by the very sharp, citrus, and intense notes of the green mandarin which in this fragrance evocative of combined lime and sweet orange; similarly, the granny smith apple, is a very sharp, sour and intense note. The combination of these initial notes is well done. The spices take a brief moment to come up but they do, they are not as strong as the fruits or tonka but are noticeable. A piquant touch from the red chili pepper leads the way, along with the pepper and other spices that sharpen the fragrance. The sage adds a minty-like accord that supplements well the fruity notes; the cardamom is also noticeable, sweet, minty, spicy, and bitter. The almonds and woody notes are support notes, just something back there for consistency, they make the fragrance slightly dense. The fragrance is relatively linear, other than the spicy notes, all featured notes come up as soon as the fragrance is applied; the spices don’t take long. As the fragrance reaches its dry-down, the initial strong projection takes a small step down to moderate to strong. Once Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Night Vision Men EDT has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, very sweet, green mandarin, green apple, and spicy (chili pepper, sage, cardamom) fragrance with some almond and woody notes. The fragrance feels casual, delectable, delicious, fresh, fruity, intense, inviting, masculine, modern, nicely-blended, pure, rich, sweet, unique, warm, and very pleasant.

FragChronic

Chanel Allure Homme Sport's poor cousin.
I sampled it and immediately thought this isn't anything close to Spicebomb, it's smells like CAHS, I was like, "No?"
waited, smelled again and it's yeah it does. I checked here and low and behold, a lot of notes are the same. Orange, Tonka, pepper. Now the red pepper is shining, like Givenchy's Xeryus Rouge, It's very spicy now, aaaah,...."SpiceBomb"
just a didn't spice folks.

edit,
the bottom of the bottle should be red to make more sense, NOT green.

acl17

This fragrance is a funny one I neither love it or hate it. I dont understand the mass hate about it because it really isnt as terrible. From this fragrance I can only really pick up the apple and mandarin and tonka in the drydown. So relatively uninteresting but smells decent.

However, if you are considering buying it for full retail I wouldn't recommend. I was easily sold by trusting a the worker at my fragrance about a year ago when I had less knowledge on fragrances so hope no one suffers the same fate. If you going to get this try look for discounts.

The biggest problem is the price... if it was a lot cheaper I wouldnt mind as much. I now currently use it for a gym scent/sport scent or going to a local food shop but yeah outside little use

If anyone is STILL interested I'm more than happy to sell my bottle as theres A LOT of juice left over around 70ml. So message me selling for CHEAPPP
:p

Overall: 5.5/10

rerthegreat

Ok. If you do not have any of the bubblegum, invictus-like fragrances, then this is fantastic. If you want something that lasts and will get you compliments, this will do the trick. Being I own azzaro wanted, invictus intense, and aqua, as well as dunhill icon racing, this is beyond redundant.

Bought it and tried it out in spite of the reviews. I own the rest of the spicebomb line and love them. The bottle for NV is really really nice. I brought it back the next day. Redundant as I mentioned before. If there were not like 20 other fragrances doing "this", then this would be fantastic.

For those of you who don't own invictus or something similar, give it a shot, you might really enjoy this, especially the younger crowd. A sad pass for me.

2ScentsWorth

More like a squib than a hand grenade. The performance is very weak and projection is meek. Nice enough smell but doesn't really fit the "grenade" mould.

smellsbells

The dislike is for longevity and sillage being so poor mate!!

EauDeJay

I’m confused on why so many people dislike this fragrance? I’m guessing because it doesn’t smell like the original. Thought we were rating how good each individual frag smells. This smells soo damn good, coming from a guy who owns all the flankers and the original. Spicebomb extreme doesn’t really smell like the original but people still LOVE it. No need for all the hate this is almost guaranteed compliments every time you wear this! A high quality apple and tonka bean frag plus the cardamom just has a beautiful finishing touch, can’t go wrong people ! Oh and good performance as well

Fragrancecove

I personally love this fragrance. Not sure why so many people want to hate on it. Then again, I knew before I smelled it for the first time that it was far removed from the heavy spice DNA of the original. My advice would be to keep an open mind and try not to get tunnel vision, thinking of this as a flanker to the OG.

bluebeard904

V&R should just rebrand Antidote as a Spicebomb flanker and not waste their time with releases like this. It's fine, but largely a throwaway release.

Rtiggs

It's crazy. People hate on this one, but it smells really good. I guess I'm kinda glad though, because great fragrances that people hate usually make it to my collection at steep discounts.

Again...this stuff is outstanding..haters are gonna hate.

smellyoul8ter

I sampled this the other day in a local department store and compared it side by side to Spicebomb. I have to say that this is a sweeter and smoother version. Spicebomb is in there but it’s toned down by 50%. It’s easier to wear than Spicebomb but if you’re a die hard fan of the original go into this with different expectations and you may actually like it. They marketed and named this scent very poorly. The only thing I would’ve kept was the green bottle. I think it is more crowd pleasing and seems versatile- not just night time! Next time I stop by I’m going to come back for this.

Sharkbait1245

I bought a new bottle of this and used it a couple of times, but it's not doing me any justice. There's no spice to this at all, it kind of defeats the purpose of the "Spicebomb" brand. It's a great fragrance if you wanna go out clubbing and have a semi-fresh scent with a little edge and some compliments from girls who don't know the difference between what a man smells like, but it smells young for me. I prefer the Extreme version for nights out anyways. Besides that, I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on something that's supposed to smell like Invictus, just get Invictus instead.

gothfrank

eh?. Its mass appealing but it smells allootttt like invictus. If you have invictus, then your good you don't need this fragrance . 6/10

Smago88

I went to Macy’s and sprayed it on my wrist. The opening didn’t impress me. After few minutes later. The dry down, I smelled my wrist again. Wow! I actually love the smell. I don’t know what is wrong with this perfume. People seem to talk bad about it. Of course is not better then the original spicebomb. This is something different for the spicebomb line. I could wear this on Spring, maybe Summer. I would definitely buy this, and add it to my collection.

unsrsly

I honestly quite like this. My husband has a sample of this and goes perfectly with his chemistry. Definitely a little spice but mostly sweet with a bit of citrus. The performance is pretty good it lasted on him and his clothes for around 8 hours. It is gourmand but in a fresh way. I don't think it is worth the price, but it does smell very nice.

Sasifras

It is a decent smell; too strong for me. Maybe it's because of my sweeter-smelling skin. Wouldn't mind my boyfriend smelling like this. I got it as a sample to try, which is how I sample men's perfumes, without a scent profile beforehand. Never thought I would like Tonka bean since most perfumes I try don't use it.
Give it a shot. If it's too much, it's too much.

Alanitoo

I sampled Night vision and it’s a fairly pleasant fragrance, it’s sweet but also has a citrusy/fruity element to it. Reminiscent of fragrances like Invictus. It doesn’t smell much like the original Spicebomb.

The original spicebomb is definitely superior to Night vision, not only in terms of the scent profile and originality but also in terms of performance. So it’s understandable that people are disappointed. But a good fragrance nonetheless.

Scjohnsoon

You fragrance snob douchebag dummies need to find another hobby. I'm referring to those bashing this small as if it's complete trash and repulsive to your nose. Give me a break...Yeah, it's generic in the sense of uniqueness, but no one's going to say "you smell bad" after walking by them. If you smell better than bad and more inviting than nothing, your winning...this is a winner.

ArianeArborene'sNose

I love Flowerbomb and Spicebomb, so I wanted to try this. I feel Spicebomb is actually a women's cologne. Spicebomb Extreme is also more of a feminine than a man's scent. So when I sprayed on Night Vision, I said, "So this is the Spicebomb that is actually meant for men!" One whiff and you know a man is in the room (or should be...). As a woman, I would never wear this unless I was trying to smell like a man going out for the evening with a pretty woman. I think a lot of women would love to smell this on their man. It's a great scent, just not that different from other masculines and probably overpriced for what it comes across as, which is a perfectly respectable and somewhat sophisticated and very manly cologne.

Grewal Amrit

I've always hated tobacco but spicebomb extreme was one of my very favourite winter fragrances. So, i had high hopes for this one... but ... wow, what a disappointment this one is.
Starts of with such a repulsive green apple note that i had to wash it off 40 mins later.
Pathetic attempt at milking an already famous product name.

I have worn this a couple of times to most situations. This fragrance is exactly what it says it is, and that is it a very green fragrance with some of the Spicebomb faintly in the background. It is a flanker long and short.

Its marketed as for the night time but honestly it doesn't matter the time of day, this scent doesn't really stand out. I would however recommend it for Fall and Spring (Mostly Spring).

The scent is okay, not worth the amount its being sold at. So try before you buy. I wont be purchasing this again however, its just not for me.

It does not smell like a spice bomb to me. I can definitely smell the spices, but not in a dominant and strong way I would relate to a bomb, being it quite a soft fragrance. The contrast they speak of above, though, between darkness and freshness, is really well achieved, because now it smells dark to me, and then it smells green, confusing me actually. Well, I find that a really great achievement, and I don’t know how they got that. As said, there is a greeniness and cleanliness about it, and so there is some sweetness and darkness, and I find the classification above quite right. I can also relate that structure to the idea of night vision, meaning some form of clarity though the night darkness. Well, I find the achievement brilliant, here they really had a concept, which I think all perfumes should have, and they addressed it. I also get hints of an aromatic aquatic beer smell, which I do not like. Overall, despite that, I find it quite pleasant, and the whole structure really a brilliant achievement. Sillage is poor if any, though.and if you smell it in passing, it does not stand out as anything above mediocre. I greatly admire the achievement, as I said, but would not buy it.

scottgiles86

This is not a Green or spicy scent, but a Blue one. The scent is actually good. As mentioned by many it is very similar to YSL Y EDP. I enjoy wearing it much more than the YSL. It's performance is better than Y EDT, but below the Y EDP. I prefer the smell however as Y EDP is too loud and sharp for my taste. This is better blended and more well rounded.

The real problem is that this should have never been marketed as a Spicebomb flanker. This fragrance may in fact be one of the worst marketed fragrances in recent memory. This scent has nothing to do with spice at all, and if it was released as a completely different scent instead of a Spicebomb flanker it would be rated much better.

(Gentleman Givenchy 2017 is similar - too many people were comparing it to the original Givenchy Gentleman, and gave it poor reviews for going in a different direction. If it was released with a different name it would have gotten better reviews)

It is a much worse case with Night Vision - V&R need to broaden their horizons and get a better marketing / advertising team for future releases...as well as public input before releasing a decent fragrance that flops due to a bad name and bottle. Those in charge of releasing Night Vision really had no vision at all.

ThatMakesScents

Boring.

Nothing to do with the original or extreme.....unfortuntely.

I agree with others a very mundane cheap smelling communal cologne. Something you might find for free usage in a club bathroom.

Pb07

First time when I smelled it.. I smiled
Few minutes later I was laughing hystericaly and was rolling on floor thinking about Appraisal of creative director and team of night vision this year.

Opaulino22

Theres a really cheap clone of this called Territoire Platinum, costs like $15

amosfiocchi70

I agree with many others. This smells like YSL Y if you took the smokey cedar aspect out of Y. Its pleasant and lasts long enough. Like but not love.

Cair Paravel

Smells nice off the test strip, but is boring and forgettable on my skin. Not a lot of similarity with the original, but you may still enjoying it. YMMV

and_then_some_7

Smells good, but with this on one arm, and YSL Y EDP on the other, I went with the Y EDP. Night Vision is just good - not great - and too expensive for something that is just OK.

doc_akh

I had been looking forward to this release. Huge fan of Spicebomb Extreme and really like Spicebomb fresh and the original. I had imagined that this might be similar to La Nuit De L’homme based on the bottle. Hoping to find something unique and original.

However upon smelling, I really did have to do a double take, is this really a Spicebomb flanker? It shares nothing in common with its predecessors.

It is just about as generic as it gets, perhaps a mixture of every generic male designer you can find.

Boring, unoriginal, uninspired, and simple, a sorely disappointing release.

Obyrix

Made an account purely to review this cologne. This is simply a bad cologne. I just got out of the shower after driving home, for the single purpose of cleansing myself of this scent.

I'm not a cologne snob. I own bottles of cologne at every price point. From Everyman Jack and Hollister to Valentino and Channel to Amouage and Creed.

I don't think a cologne has to be expensive, rare, or even particularly unique to be good... It just needs to actually smell good.

The initial smell at the store won me over, so I bought it and wore it for the first time early this morning. One spray to the chest, one to the left wrist, then dabbed from the left wrist to the right.

Throughout the day when the wind blew I was engulfed in the scent of this cologne. Usually that's a winner for me, but after the first hour this scent flattened out into this incredibly monotone and abrasive scent that irritated my nose as well as my friends', and was giving me a headache.

I got tired of it, so I said forget it and came home purely to wash it off. As I was stepping into the shower, the scent clicked. This cologne smells like a high school gym locker room, after all the guys have washed up and finished dousing their bodies in Axe, Old spice, Degree, and whatever other body spray exists. That chemical smell left in the air that burns your nose and just smells like "generic man smell" after all those sprays have combined in the air. That's what this flattened out to.

TL;DR: On my skin at least, this projected like a beast, but the smell was just absolutely abrasive.

mdhunter456

People are being pretty hard on this new release. I don’t think the 2.5/5 rating is fair at all. You don’t rate a new model of BMW lower than a Ford just because you had high hopes for the BMW. It’s at least a 3.5/5 if not higher. As someone who makes fragrances but has never owned the original spicebomb I hate to say that both the original and the night vision smell like relatively generic designers. There’s a reason that type of scent is successful though and I think the Night Vision is blended well and pretty impressive for something that’s under $100 for 90ml....these reviews sound like people who have a love and nostalgia for the original, who haven’t even had time for this release to grow on them and become nostalgic in the same way....just like people have a hard time accepting new music no matter how good it is, and nothing will replace the song you listened to on your first date (a lot of the origin of the perpetual music was better in my day arguing between generations) nothing will replace the original spicebomb for many of you. You could argue they should’ve made this it’s own release but frankly that’s spoken as a consumer that feels duped not a business trying to market new products on the back of an extremely successful product like spicebomb. Spicebomb has become a great brand & has more name recognition than Viktor and Rolf, so frankly I’d do the same thing if I was in their shoes. Out of about 30 fragrances, some new and some old favorites like polo blue that I smelled today, I actually thought this was the best one. If you don’t like it you don’t like it but I would encourage people to try it and not just pass on it because of these reviews that in my opinion are quite unfair. If you don’t want generic don’t buy designers and be ready to spend more money for higher quality juices...if you want an affordable strike down the middle of the plate night vision will probably do the trick!

THE FOUR 1111

Misleading.... it’s like they created this scent on “Opposite Day” to me this is a fresh daytime fragrance that doesn’t have any of original spice bomb DNA. It doesn’t smell bad but it’s certainly not bottle worthy for me :/

Michelle12345678

This is not as good as Spicebomb. Night Vision draws you in with its interesting apple/citrus opening, but that lasts only a minute. After that it dries down to a generic, masculine tonka-sage scent. It's not BAD, but it's not special. They are selling people on that initial blast, which is stunning but very short-lived.

smellsbells

Quite generic in tone so a pass for me.If it was a beast i would be more interested.

avaloncm

I am not a Spicebomb fan. My favorite is Spicebomb Fresh. This is not bad to me and definitely the second best of this line. But I don’t think I will buy this one. Not unique enough for me.

Buysblind

I think the embarrassing, “2.52” rating Nightvision currently holds here at Fragrantica is more a reflection of the public’s general disappointment with the scent than its actual quality. And while I certainly wouldn’t categorize this fragrance as “good,” it’s not as terrible as its score suggest. I mean there are plenty of BAD fragrances here with scores in the mid and high 3’s, so for something to receive a 2.5 it should be really, really bad. Having said that, I think Nightvision is just average, to slightly above average in the grand scheme of things, though certainly disappointing as a Viktor & Rolf release, and also as a Spicebomb flanker, a fragrance which, for the most part, is somewhat charming and distinct among the class of designers with which it competes. Nope, it’s not that Nightvision is “bad”—it’s just so very been-there-smelled-that generic that it brings absolutely nothing new to us, and instead rehashes a genre that many of us are just tired of at this point.

In short, Nightvision is a fresh tonka-lavender fragrance for men with that sort of modern-but-played-out shower-gel feel composed into what altogether feels like a very blended, singular accord with little separation among its notes and a mostly linear, predictable progression. The tonka and lavender combine to give it an aromatic, sweet, powdered feel and a very abstract green apple lends just a bit of that shower gel freshness I alluded to before. To this end it’s a competent fragrance. It executes this style well without any glaring missteps or out of balance proportions. And although it obviously and certainly smells synthetic, it manages to avoid smelling harsh or chemical for the most part as well. It’s even pleasant at times. I’ve always thought that fragrances of this variety smell best when sniffed briefly, and from a few feet away, so say on someone who’s quickly passing by you on a city street, or someone edging past you in a crowded theater. It smells perfectly fine in that sense. The problem is, I can think of a lot fragrances that smell similar, even three that I’ve just smelled in the past couple of weeks: Armani Stronger With You, Pepe Jeans for Him, and Diesel Fuel for Life. And if I actually took the time to think about it, I could name many more. Even if these fragrances do not smell exactly the same, they’re similar enough—and they all leave the same impression—partially fresh, partially oriental, synthetically contemporary olfactive white noise. It’s the type of scent that makes you shrug your shoulders with an unenthused, “meh.”

On the positive side, Nightvision does one thing pretty well, and that’s that it keeps its tonka-lavender buzz on the fresh, uplifting side by not overloading the sweetness and keeping it afloat with a light, though somewhat vague green apple note and an appealing, though equally vague almond. These two additions to the whole give Nightvision some necessary levity (the green apple) and just a hint of something aromatically interesting (the almond) Most importantly, they keep the fragrance on the proper plane, making it something that can be worn easily without becoming cloying or dragging one down into a sticky, tonka laden swamp as occurs in fragrances such as Allure Homme Eau Extreme and Azzaro Chrome Pure.

Projection is about average, to maybe slightly above, which I don’t mind, as these kinds of scents can be particularly obnoxious when they’re too strong. Still, those looking for more of a “beast mode” fragrance will feel let down by this, and that tends to be the audience that’s generally attracted to these types of fragrances in the first place. So while I appreciate its restraint, I can also see it as a fault rather than an attribute. Longevity is about 8 hours. Night Vision feels like a daily wear type of fragrance or casual evening wear. I have a few sprays of it on my arm and I happen to be headed to the gym. I’m not embarrassed to be wearing it. A few people will probably pass by and think something smells nice. But no one will be surprised by it, and I’m sure I’ll catch a few tired eye rolls as well. Final rating: 7/10

EDIT: One more point: You'll notice throughout the reviews for Nightvision that it gets compared to many fragrances, from Invictus to La Nuit to Polo Red and Fuel for Life and Stronger With You. That's because, as mentioned above, Nightvision has a very generic smell. It more or less epitomizes the fresh-sweet aromatic oriental variety that has become so popular for men and has occupied the shelves of malls and department stores for the past 10 or 15 years. While it doesn't smell exactly like any of the fragrances mentioned, it surely smells a little bit like all of them.

jameshollisandrew

I did a test card at Nordstrom’s and smelled through the first 30 minutes. It had a similar DNA to Polo Red, and wasn’t unique enough to catch my attention. I love the original Spicebomb so this was a little disappointing. I don’t recommend grabbing this :/

RodgyV

People in the reviews have mentioned how this smells like everything from polo red to ysl la nuit de l'homme?? Lol. Pretty wild how every nose smells differently. To me it is in same vain as Paco Rabanne invictus, YSL Y etc.etc. its definently different then the original spicebomb. It's more fresh and mass appealing. I like it and think it's a great every day scent for spring, fall and summer. Great bottle as well.

Ellej32

this fragrance smells like polo red crossed with diesel bad.. me and my sister love it but it doesn’t last long. Very fresh unlike the original

lespritz.1

People are trashing this stuff left right and center on here! Ratings mean nothing...it's all right... I dunno if I'd ever get this stuff, but no, it isn't gross, offensive or strong...I detect a hint of the original DNA in it...yes the name and green grenade are the highlights...it's probably just not worth the exorbitant price is all. It's kind of unique and generic at the same time, should that make sense.

Super Sniffer

After the opening dies down it reminds me of Percival by Parfums De Marly. However Percival has a strong lavender note which I don’t like and makes it feel more mature, as to where Night Vision is missing that lavender note which in return makes this feel a little more youthful. This isn’t ground breaking, but I liked it enough to buy it and my wife loves it. The main note players I get is mandarin, cardamom, Tonka, and a tad bit of almond just enough to know it’s there.

wesleyhclark

I actually like the fruity top notes, which are well-wrought. Usually I don't like perfumes with an apple note, but this one works and actually does smell like an apple. For a short while. Sadly, as the lighter components evaporate (and I'm talking about five minutes or so), what happens on my skin is that the whole thing becomes sour and nasty. Ugh. From nice apple to scrubber in mere minutes.

Spicebomb Extreme (aka Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille) is the one to get.

Chicago Tony T

After being a huge fan of the original and Extreme my hopes were extremely high for this one. I must say that after 1 wearing from a decant that I am not a fan but not a hater. It's a little better than meh but not something that I would buy a bottle of. Apple, spices and tonka are the key accords/notes. It's a very safe, friendly scent. Non intrusive typical daywear type of stuff. Longevity is over 6 hours but as mentioned by many the sillage and projection leaves a lot to be desired.

jovejove

Thought I’d share; tomorrow and Saturday, they’re giving away samples of Midnight and Night Vision, and deluxe size Flowerbomb creams in Toronto at the Eaton Centre for anyone who’s a fan or wants to try the fragrances.

I’m not compensated for this informations, just sharing

PerfumeKing14

I really like this spicebomb but the performance is so bad. I sprayed this with a heavy hand because I just got in the mail & wanted to show it off & it smells soo good when first sprayed.
So I took a half hour train journey & by the time I got where I was going there was no trace at all. I ended up stopping by a fragrance store & spraying more on myself. I do really like it but the lasting power is dreadful.

phamdinhkhoa04

I don't know why this gets so many negative reviews. Personally, I love the fragrance for its classy smell and overall good performance.

The sillage is not heavy itself, but if you oversprayed it may get heavy.

The scent lasts quite long, I spray at 9:00am and can still smell it when I get home at 9:00pm. And the scent seems to get intensified when comes into contact with water.

Overall, this is a good choice because the smell is actually different from the original and extreme spicebombs. This will definitely gets you compliments, but not at the level of Sauvage. If you are not a perfume expert, this should be your go-to.

specializedj

Note breakdown and the actual scent is 80% similar to YSL’s Y EdP, especially in the dry down.

jovejove

Long short, it’s a pretty good fragrance for what it is if you take away the branding and marketing (which shouldn’t matter, because each piece developed by a perfumer should be judged for its individual composition). Are these ingredients available or produced in other fragrances on the market? Yes. Do most people on this website believe they’re more unique than anyone else? Yes. Majority of users have the same exposure of the available fragrances on the market; most are signature designer fragrances.
**********************************
So many people go on about finding uniqueness, yet they go by peoples reviews when shopping for a fragrance that they’re going to wear.
**********************************
If Kim Kardashian says she’s been eating dog sh*t for years to suppress her appetite, am I going to eat dog sh*t because she said that’s what she likes to do or works for her? No... make up your own minds if you want to be unique. Don’t be a sheep and follow the flock of comments on these sites
**********************************
If you want something unique, I recall Guerlain doing private fragrances around 65,000€ a few years back and wow the world with your own creation, then let’s talk

I don’t say any of this with butt hurt, but there’s a lot of hot air on this site. If it makes anyone feel better and need to hear it; don’t worry, you’re still unique, just like everyone else...

Bachmann24

A nice release from the house of victor & rolf but not a amazing release.

Save your pennies and get yourself some spicebomb extreme!

smellsbells

sb extreme is the bomb...forget this one!

spcmiller

Simply horrific! I was probably one of the first people in the USA to buy Spicebomb in Feb 2012 the day of its release and have relished its presence in my collection since. And, to varying degrees, the flankers that have come out in subsequent years have been fine, but still shadows of the original. SBNV is a blatant money grab...without any of the imagination that made the namesake so popular. It's along the lines of Bleu de Chanel and Y from YSL and Savage from Dior: those nauseating, overly fresh, Ambroxan-laden, crowd pleasing concoctions that litter the shelves of department stores nationwide.

I was looking forward to this release and thankfully didn't blind buy it. Two unapologetic thumbs down! :(

But, in its defense, the sheer tenacity is amazing! I tried to wash this off my hand and it just became stronger. Bleh.

biff2

This is such a poor release by V and R. Decided to by the fresh spicebomb as I think it may be on death row due to this..not many places stocking it at the moment.

SEA Fragrance

This one comes across a mix between Bulgari Wood Essence and JPG Ultra male.
I really enjoy Ultra Male, but I'm really not fond of Wood Essence.... therefore I won't buy it.

Dont expect any similarities with the original Spicebomb and the flanker Spicebomb Extreme. Night Vision goes in a complete different direction. I wonder why is this one a flanker !

This fragrance is more suited for Fall, Winter and maybe spring.
Occasions : casual, nights out.

You may get some compliments, but due to the Sage note, people will probably find that you smell intriguing rather than great.

Kizomba

smells like bvlgary wood essence.

ChrisCBE

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews of the new NightVision. Where else does anybody think the Spicebomb fragrance line could go?
It could't get any deeper or stronger. I mean, the Extreme is an absolute beast! I can only wear that in the winter.
I have all 3 previous versions - Fresh - Spicebomb - Extreme
And most people say it is nothing like the original? When I wear it, I can definitely get the DNA vibe of (particularly) the Extreme version. I think a lot of people consider the original TOO strong, so this is the right way to go.
UPDATE: After wearing a while longer - I now get that this new release is very much a combination of Spicebomb Extreme & Spicebomb Fresh.

CYBERPIMP2407

Opens really nice , about an hour in I get an azzaro wanted vibe..

dkroonen

Reminds mr off Diesel Bad intense
Even jpg ultra male like

8/10

thethe

I’m not going to rate this as a “like” or “dislike.”
-just basic smelling. It’s not bad but everyone needs to get it out of their heads that this is a spicebomb flanker. It’s not. It’s it’s own stand alone fragrance packaged in the gernade bottle.
This would appeal to the “first time fragrance buyers” out there. And it will be s great purchase for them.

btpaulen

So this is hardly spicey at all. I just tested AdG Absolu on a paper strip, and this on another - and the resemblence is striking. (Not tested on skin, and I didn’t wait for the drydown.)
Nice, light, envigorating and I guess crowd pleasing, but nothing special and not worth a premium IMHO. (Kicks, Norway)

skjelseth

Tested today at Kicks in Norway. I do like Spicebomb and Spicebomb Extreme, but this one disappointed. Not unpleasant what so ever, but really generic and it definitely feels like I've smelled this scent before. Does not smell like any of the other Spicebomb releases mentioned, though. Not really sure what to make of it, feels like a summer scent at times, however, spring and fall would be a safer choice.

MrHappy330

Seems I'm one of the only people here who likes this, yes it's nothing like the original or extreme, I get a big juicy citrus blast with this one, I think it would be a good spring even summer frag, and is personally unlike any other fragrance in my collection currently... After a few wearings I must say I don't get the azzaro comparison, and haven't had enough experience with ysl y to compare the two but what I do get is good lomgevity and projection and have recieved numerous compliments with one girl even going out and buying it for her other half.. Gotta say I honestly really enjoy this

yann33

Absolutly horrible !!!! Sorry Victor and Rolf .......

Ciacho13

I was today in Douglas in Germany.
Very, very poor release from house Viktor & Rolf.

Weak and poor.
Fragrance similar to Azzaro Wanted or Issey Miyake Majeure L'eau Majeure D'Issey.

Big dissapointment.

Rorshach1004

The review by Adidas76 gets this scent spot on. It's savoury, similar to Azarro Wanted, not as good as the original SP, and overall a v disappointing release.

Adidas76

Tried it today at debenhams.
Sprayed night vision on one hand and sprayed the original spicebomb on the other hand.
1st impression night vision is too soft and boring. No spice at all!!!
Night vision is a very soft poor version of azzaro wanted by night
I am very disappointed with night vision. Original spicebomb is so much better. It has more power and grunt.
Original spicebomb all the way for me.
A big no no for night vision.
Sad really.

paulodomas

I tried this in Debenhams today. It is nothing like the other Spicebombs. It reminds me of a watered down Stronger With You. Very disappointing.

LuckyStar1

I Tried this today has no original Spicebomb dna in it at all. I agree smells very similar to YSL Y. Stunning bottle but I am so disappointed in this. It is a nice scent but sits very close to my skin. It is not worth the retail asking price.
I don’t understand why this is a flanker of Spicebomb? They have no connection in my opinion. This should have been a new men’s stand alone fragrance from V&R.

Shawnnick

Very disappointing smells to me a lot like ysl y.I love the previous versions but this is poor.

siwhite

Reminds me of Annayake Tsukiyo....

mare_crisium

D. Palashev, agreed. Either that or Azarro WbN. This sits very close to the skin. Great smell, put poor projection and little to no sillage. Hoped for better. The bottle is stunning though.

bpl12

I love apple notes in perfume. Hopefully this is done well. Can't wait!

mare_crisium

Grabbed a sample today. Smells great, but slightly familiar. Gonna try it out tonight.

junior halston

Very excited to try this.

Mark Lacerda

Can't wait. Viktor & Rolf is one of the few designer houses that arouse my curiosity regarding new releases.

MarkMark74

Notes look like they smell good.
