XJ 1861 Naxos by Xerjoff is a Citrus Gourmand fragrance for women and men. XJ 1861 Naxos was launched in 2015. Top notes are Lavender, Bergamot and Lemon; middle notes are Honey, Cinnamon, Cashmeran and Jasmine Sambac; base notes are Tobacco Leaf, Vanilla and Tonka Bean.

At perfume exhibition in Milan - Esxence 2015, Xerjoff presented for the first time his collection of three perfumes dedicated to 150th anniversary of unification of Italy and is inspired by wealth, beauty and heritage that this country possesses. The collection of XJ 1861 encompasses three fragrances XJ 1861 Renaissance, XJ 1861 Zefiro and XJ 1861 Naxos each of which provides a part of beautiful Italy: Renaissance celebrates this period in Italy, Naxos Sicily, while Zefiro celebrates eternal Rome!

XJ 1861 Naxos celebrates Sicily and its beauty, and accentuates its Mediterranean character with the composition. Citruses in top notes pose contrast to precious spices suggesting wealth of a unified country, its conquests and dominance. Composition of Naxos opens with classic, airy and fruity citrus notes of bergamot and lemon surrounded with gentle and calming lavender shades. The heart blends sambac jasmine with cinnamon, cashmeran and honey, whose romantic trail is enriched with masculine accords of tobacco and tonka from the base. Vanilla creates a soft and sensual veil by touching flowers, fruit and tobacco leaves.

I am OBSESSED with this one. It’s delicious and the way it transforms brings me so much joy. couldn’t stop smelling my wrist after the test. It’s sweet and intense in the best way possible. Honey lavender and incense are what I’m getting. I just got a sample and dabbing a tiny bit on my wrist and chest is perfect and not overpowering however I can totally see how spraying on would be a lot like some people say but I love it so much, definitely buying the full size as soon as I can.

When a fragrance garners as much praise as Xerjoff's Naxos, you might expect it to redefine your scent experience. Unfortunately, Naxos does not live up to the hype that precedes it. Marketed as a luxurious blend, it promises an exotic bouquet of rich tobacco, honey, and spices. However, the result is surprisingly mundane.

Upon first spritz, the honey is noticeably sweet, but not in a nuanced or refined way—it feels almost cloying, lacking the sophisticated balance one would hope for in a high-end perfume. The tobacco, which could have added a smoky, intriguing depth, instead passes by almost unnoticed, overshadowed by an overwhelming vanilla that seems to cater more to mass market preferences than to the connoisseurs Xerjoff usually targets.

The dry-down doesn't redeem the initial disappointment either. What remains is a generic sweetness that is both persistent and monotonous. It's a far cry from the complex, evolving narrative advertised. Additionally, for its price point, Naxos does not distinguish itself significantly from lower-priced offerings that deliver similar aromatic profiles.

In conclusion, while Naxos is not an unpleasant fragrance, it is nothing extraordinary. It seems to ride more on the wave of its brand name and less on any distinct olfactory excellence. Those seeking a truly unique and captivating scent might find themselves better served exploring elsewhere, rather than investing in this overhyped offering.

First of all, brand packaging is heavy so it adds weight to the overall feel of product which I would say is not something that would make me feel I'd stand out in a crowd or feeling like I'm wearing something so special I'd want to keep it to myself, nor would I, on the other extreme end, be excited to talk about it to anyone if I ever get asked - the scent just kind of sat with me as I thought of a non-existent time of drinking milk as an adult with a dear old friend. It definitely has a rounded and smooth tobacco creamy honey scent and I like that it starts out soft with only a slight hint of lemon. However, it does seem to have less sillage and projection than expected. Two-three hours in, I start to smell a lil more of the tobacco and less creamy which gives it more kick but not by much I'd hoped for.

**This is a blind buy and do wish I'd tested it first but have a feeling once I test out other fragrances my perspective will change.

Oh, honey.

How can I put this. I absolutely love this fragrance, but it is definitely not something I would wear on myself outside of the house. I got it so I can spray it and smell it on my skin for my own pleasure but I find it somewhat cloying, overtly intense and the honey is EXTREMELY overpowering to a point where I feel (and I've been told) people are not comfortable with it.

Let's call a guilty pleasure, but an intense one nevertheless.

Bijousmere

Does anyone know what the Middle Eastern / Arabian clone of this could be? I can't believe I've been sleeping on all these Arabic fragrances.... Thanks. I see Igor0203 mentioned Shaghaf Oud Azraq but according to the comments on that one's profile, it is a clone of Montale Honey Aoud. Looking for a clone of Naxos if anyone knows what it is, please PM me.

Igor0203

Testing a sample bought directly from Xerjoff... Must say that I'm kinda dissapointed, I was expecting more based on a hype.
Starts with a blast of citruses, which lasts maybe few minutes. Then it settles into tobacco/honey/vanilla drydown which I think is the main selling point of this fragrance.
Nice projection for about 2 hours, then slowly settles into skin scent. Applied 3 sprays on a left hand at 1pm, now it's nearly 5pm and it's mostly skin scent, I must dig my nose into an arm to smell it.
Ngl, it's a nice scent but I don't think it's worth 200eur. If you want to smell like honey, Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud Azraq might scratch that itch.

I'm loving this xerjoff naxos tester that i got because i'm getting so many compliments from people.
definitely my next buy. i recommend to you Belli9

Belli9

I have it. Mine was made in May 2023. and when I ask people if they like it, they say they don't feel it. so people please tell me where the hype is coming from. you have to use a lot of spray on clothes to get a whiff. never mind., this taught me not to believe the hype. smells like mango green/white tea, later comes the sweetness I was waiting for.

eaudetoilette

Insane.

I honestly appreciate the sharp, slightly more summery opening, but do understand why some may find it unpleasant. As it dries down, it becomes smooth, classy, and appealing. Very unisex and mature scent yet still suitable for younger people in my opinion. The honey and lavender combo does have a grannyish vibe to it at a certain point in the drydown, but the tobacco balances it out to create a more masculine scent profile. Sprayed one spray of this on the left side of my neck, and people to the opposite side could catch whiffs of it after >5 hours. I could smell this on my skin more than 30 hours after sampling it.

-Great performance
-Evolving, unique and appealing scent profile
-Unisex

WOW this is a masterpiece. Perfection. Brilliant. Addictive. Perfectly unisex, it just smells GOOD without any gender affiliation. I guess you could say 'clean' but it's not a typical clean fragrance becasue it lacks the typical notes a 'fresh' fragrance would have (which I personally DISLIKE in most fragrances)... This is clean yet also warm/spicy at the same time.
Wore it today and applied at 7:30 am. It is now 3:04 pm and I can still smell a hint of this gorgeous dry down. I would most certainly reapply by now, but my little 5 ml decant is at home and I am still at work. I'm just happy at the longevity. While the price of a full size bottle is steep, I kinda see it being worth the price tag. Or I might just keep buying decants while it's available. $27 on microperfumes.

all I get is intense lavender with some lemon on the opener and then it dies... hardly a skin scent

I'll continue to give this more chances but right now it is a disappointment. from the scent profile I expected something like Le Male Elixir

Huss_aladdin27

When you bring up the house of Xerjoff the first name that comes to mind is Naxos...the lavender honey tobacco transitions throughout incredibly as you go throughout the day catching whiffs off it..Naxos is arguably the best gourmand fragrance the notes are elite tge projection longevity are strong 🔥

ParfumGatekeeper

This stuff is my signature for winter and fall and my spring and summer nightime signature, it’s beautiful PLEASE BUY IT

nicholasmendez13

Surprisingly elegant and light. Very sweet gourmand that smells pleasant. I just love honey notes and this is a nice one.

SH89

It smells excellent, super well blended. I can see the hype, and if you haven't smelled niche before, this will most likely blow you away.

I'm getting candied fruit (mainly lemon), tobacco, vanilla and sweet berries.
The lavender gives it some versatility, but this is still super sweet, borderline gourmand.

Very strong and long-lasting.

More feminine than I expected, but still unisex.

genec123

I'll start by saying I have about 60 bottles of fragrances in my collection and a taste for unique scents and flavors.

All the reviews you see saying this is gorgeous are true. This is ALL YEAR signature scent worthy. It's light, airy, very unique, and definitely not cloying nor is it specifically a winter scent like so many see. I will be wearing this is in the summer no matter what temp or season.

My complaint, and unfortunately it's a big part of a fragrance is that it does not last for me. I used 7 sprays and it does not last at all. I wish this was an extrait de parfum so there would be some density for the price, but I'm disappointed by the performance so far.

If I'm going noseblind or something which I doubt cause there's nothing in this that would cause nose blindness, I'll report back here and modify my review

ammme

it’s good as they say tbf. reminds me of nektar from laboratorio olfattivo, but much more complex. best honey I’ve tried so far, the tobacco is really sweet tho, like comandante from xerjoff too. despite its longevity (i get 9 hours and a good silage throughout the day) it’s a tame fragrance, not offensive at all, i find it very suitable for cold summer evenings too. i found it at 200 eur. or so, at that price for 100ml is an instant cop, worth the hype if you like sweet honey frags.

wtret

such a lovely scent. dunno if i’m an idiot but this could definitely be worn everyday all year round, definitely not a certain occasion fragrance. the citrus accord should be higher on fragrantica because it is so lemony, however is more of a sweet honey tobacco lemon rather than the lemon in dior homme cologne. if you wanna smell lovely and rich, buy this.

JohnPaulGartier

I thought this would be a lovely scent based on the notes and reviews, but i was underwhelmed when i first smelt it. It smelt quite artifical and unappealing for the first 30 minutes, but after that i fell in love. The longevity is insane and projection amazing. As much as i love this fragrance, the country i live in is just too hot and humid for me to even consider buying it but i would strongly reccomend it to anyone else.

Arkangel8

At first I got to say I was not a big fan of it.
Its honey, tobacco, lavender with bergamot.
Its a nice smell but not WOW. I do hqve to say the dry doen of this is magical. It turns sweeter by the vanilla and tonka. Ive gotten compliments on it although I do have to say it has been by older women. Its def a 30+ scent. Use it for more formal ocassions/ special. I would give this a 8.5/10. I grew to like it way more thsn I did when I first bought it. Or maybe its because the juice marinated(ive own it for 1yr now)

Mr. Bear

First of all, I love the long-lasting, airy quality of this. I voted 'like' because it's just a bit too sweet for me. I think if the base had more tobacco, less vanilla, and sharper citrus in the opening this would be a love for me. It's just missing that unique WOW for me. I prefer other fragrances in each season/situation.

kerakiwi

The opening to me smelled absolutely disgusting to me. I think it must be the lavender in here- I think on me the lavender and bergmont in the beginning was just way too sharp and bitter smelling on me. I gave it 30 mins but I couldn't wait to scrub this off, too bad because the rest of the notes sounds really good, but it all came together and smells so bad to me.

papajuicyfruit

if you want to smell like honey this is for you. its a complex honey, delicious but not gourmand. not something i'd wear as a signature scent but i could see others really enjoying it.

ParfümSüchtiger69

THIS IS THE FUCKING BEST STUFF IVE EVER SMELT

Pola213

Yuck! I dont understand the hype tbh... Smells nothing like the notes... Rather like a bathroom cleaner poured over bunch of random herbs mixed with eucalyptus hard candies. Medicinal. Bug repellent like. Bleh. Dry down smells like that same bathroom cleaner sprayed over a dirty ashtray.

Devon G

Can definitely understand the hype on this one, this juice is friggin glorious.

vladdarius

Honestly id just like to know which ones more worth it this Naxos or Decas. . If they are even worth it at all

Cabooter

At first I thought I had a mislabeled sample, because I smell none of the listed top notes. The opening for me is just a very strong licorice, anise, cough-drop, minty kind of smell. Which to me is not very pleasant. After some research I found that I'm not the only one with this experience.

After the dry down it makes a pretty big transformation. It gets very sweet, creamy and a bit spicy. I can smell the honey and vanilla coming out. It is pleasant and way more subtle than the opening.

Naxos has many faces, some of them pretty good-looking. Up close a bit more feminine, farther away a bit more masculine. Sometimes overly sweet, sometimes subtle creamy good. But it’s all hidden behind a licorice mask which I find intolerable.

AnastasiaGostieva

First time trying this popular scent. It’s nice. I like the combination of fresh citrusy notes and aromatic herbs with honeycomb sweetness, however, I’m also getting a bit of soapiness of like a powder detergent scent (just a bit of it). Probably it comes from jasmine and cinnamon, because I have the same shampoo-y feeling from Noel au Balcon by ELDO, which has similar notes.

LalaLayton

One of the worst niche ive ever smelled. Immediately regret letting them spray it 3 times on my arm. Went out with Dad to some billiards house and he asked if i used some toilet refreshener on me. Now only after 3 hours the dry down is sort of nice but that took way too long! 2.5 to 3 hours of smelling like a toilet refreshener is too long.

AntonioP.

I was here before the hype, and it was one of my favourites. The honey is really good balanced with Tobacco Vanilla and Cashmeran, what I think is a perfect autumn blend. The longevity is OK and the village isn't great too. For some this might be overly sweet, for me it is one the edge of too sweet. When the Xerjoff Hype (especially Naxos) started, I began to move away from it. More and more people started wearing it and now it is Number 1 on Parfumo (Insex Scents). Since then I have not worn it since 3-4 months. This will be the new Baccarat Rouge, some say that it already is.

nortori999

I remember spraying on paper and it was very loud, tobacco and honey jumping off the strip and not much else. I could appreciate the refinement, balance and combination of the 2 main notes.

Now I am testing on skin and it is almost completely different. The opening is florals and some citruses with the tobacco and sweeter notes of honey and slight vanilla coming out more in the drydown. The opening is quite loud but the drydown is almost a skin scent, nothing like the projection from the strip. I get the same lavender note as Alexandria II but Naxos takes it sweeter (they are not similar though). I still appreciate Naxos on skin, just in a different way to the Naxos on paper as there so many facets to this fragrance.

Clay_N

I can see why so many people consider this to be a ‘safe’ buy from Xerjoff.

To start, it is surprisingly sweet. The citrus honey note was all I could smell for the first few minutes. Comparatively, the tobacco and wood base are on the restrained side and do not overtake the sweetness.

For this reason, I can also see why many consider it to be unisex. It is a nice fragrance overall with decent longevity, but I am not sure if it is a daily wear for me.

GRONK

got it home today. To be honest, I don't know what I think about it. can't decide if it smells like toilet cleaner or if it actually smells good. I think Xerjoff have some better fragrances than naxos to be honest.

Snicker

On my skin it starts off as a sweet citrusy scent then settles down to a sweet honey-vanilla scent combined with lavender and a very very mild bitterness (probably the cinnamon and tobacco notes) -not saying that those notes are out of place however those two scent profiles combined into the mixture is what I believe makes Naxos a more masculine leaning scent. The bitterness is very mild and hard to pick up which is probably the reason why alot of people call this a more feminine leaning scent.
Don't let the haters bother you though b****es love this s**t regardless.

After smelling it on myself I wasn't at all blown away by Naxos and thought it was overrated. I then sprayed this on a hoodie and left it in a wardrobe the day after I return to such a ridicoulously beautiful sweet pantydropper smell its hard to even put into words.

If we keep things short - Naxos sucks on your own skin but others cannot resist standing close to you to get a wiff

timeless masterpiece

Eau de Cornichon

So good I want to drink it.

clintjr82

Very awesome scent for a mature person . Leans way masculine. Lives up to the hype. Joop homme and Bouchern Jaipur edp wrapped in one. The performance is solid, lingers all day as a skin scent .

Mfragranze

Sumptuous scent !

myvalovec888

On a paper it is AMAZING. But.... on my skin it turns too tobacco-ish and I no longer like it.
Need to try it on skin first.

HarryXN

In the heart of Sicily, where legends reside, Where sun-kissed fields and azure skies collide, There blooms a fragrance, a masterpiece untold, Xerjoff Naxos, its tale to behold.

A symphony of citrus, bergamot's embrace, With honeyed sweetness, a delicate grace, Amber and vanilla dance in the air, Like whispers of love, beyond compare.

Jasmine and lavender, in a gentle embrace, Mingling with spices, a captivating chase, Sandalwood and tobacco, in harmonious blend, Creating a journey, that knows no end.

Oh, Xerjoff Naxos, a fragrance divine, A tribute to beauty, in every line, In your essence, Sicily's soul we find, Forever capturing hearts and minds.

Tripokaridos

Yeah it's great quality yeah it's compliment getter. But to my nose is more feminine very sweet with a lot of honey and vanilla . I can't smell any levanter or cirrus.

Mario240986

True masterpiece. Unique and powerful blend. One of my favorites.
Note: this is very unique and strong perfume. It is not for everyone. Avoid blind buying.

dogzillamd

My main problem with this one is that I just want to keep spraying myself with it. I can't get enough of that initial honey+tobacco smell. It's just so good. First time I sampled it I was overwhelmed by it, as I haven't smelled anything like it before (Hey, I'm new). Quickly fell in love with it, although I'm hard pressed to smell a frag that I don't like!

Really happy the colder temperatures have been sticking around to give me more time to wear this before putting it away for the summer.

lormp

It smells good! The performance is okay but the projection is pretty bad. I’m jealous of people saying it projects a lot… I have the batch code 31523N

TudorAmarie

Not a work of art, but worth keeping in the collection and mass appealing. Lavender and lemon, kept together by warm honey. Like much of Xerjoff, extremely good quality, but missed something. It becomes a waste if you keep if for evenings, best worn during the day.

LaneFragrancefr

Naxos is my first fragrance from the house of Xerjoff and In my opinion Naxos is a beautifully blended luxury smelling scent. From the first spray you get that extremely sweet lavender mixed with the honey and cinnamon. As is drys down you really can smell the strong tobacco mixed with honey which I think differentiates the scent from Le male elixir which is a more warm spicy honey. The bottle is beautiful as well from the classic Xerjoff presentation to the mural on the back of the bottle. I do recommend getting a decant although before buying a full bottle as this scent may come off as its better suited to older individuals.

My rating
Bottle:10/10

Samurai23

Undeniably good. Smooth, rich, smells of quality. BUT... the dominant note in Naxos is honey and back when I was a kid about 30 years ago all the older women (so basically the women born in or before the 1940s) who wore nice perfumes smelled like honey or rose. And back then there weren't any light, airy, summer perfumes. It was all heavy stuff.
For Naxos, which is a honey heavy fragrance, and other similarly rose heavy and dominant fragrances, it does not really matter what or how many masculine ingredients you combine it with (tobacco in Naxos' case). If the honey or rose is thick and heavy and dominant, I just automatically put the fragrance in the grandma category. So as a man, I don't want to smell like a grandma.

escobrrrat

This is a solid 8.5-9 / 10 for me. A very pleasant and easy to wear honey/tobacco fragrance that opens up a little too much on the sweet honey side for me but once we enter dry-down town after the first hour or so is when the magic really kicks in. Wish the tobacco was a little more pronounced, but other than that it's just a very, very lovely scent that's easy to wear. Perfect for cooler weather but can be pulled off on a cooler Summers day.

colsn

this is not a winter scent at all it just smells like citrus and honey but does smell good

7/10

kerricj

pleasant but overrated lol, there are better options when it comes to a honey-tobacco fragrance. this is a good one though for those getting into niche perfumery or just trying out the house of xerjoff. strong performance and sort of reasonable price for a bottle of this, tobacco is never my thing so this is my opinion. and also, for the love of god, stop saying that naxos is the best from xerjoff, they have way more better offerings from the house, explore more :)

overall, 7.5/10

benlea

A stunningly smooth, strong, and long-lasting combination of sweet and citrus notes. Vanilla and honey stay for a long time, while lemon is only really present in the first hour. I definitely couldn't use this for work, only for going out. One of my favourite fragrances of all time. I could really wear this in any season at any time, in my opinion.

0505413259

Insurrection II Wild Reyane Tradition is superior in almost all aspects for real
smell, longevity and price.

so what if Naxos has better quality it means nothing if it doesn't smell better than the cheap clone

Naxos is overtly sweet in a feminine way unlike Insurrection II which is also sweet but take a more masculine approach.
The only upside in Naxos in my opinion is the subtle earthy quality you get from the jasmine

TonyG

Beautifully blended. This is what Tobacco Vanille SHOULDVE been. Although a little feminine for my taste it's a gorgeous scent that will definitely get you attention. Honey, Tobacco and Lavender stand out for me and although I'm not one for tobacco scents this is beautiful. Very very good.

Jorjeyo Armstrongi

Not masculine enough for me. This fragrance is very feminine, refined, and mature. I like a good tobacco, but this was a tobacco dipped in a candied floral lavender arrangement with a tiny splash of citrus. I would imagine a well dressed and confident businesswoman wearing this at an after hours social gathering.

Venussweden

Every time I wear this I disappoint women. They turn around expecting a honey dipped hot dude. Great performance. Addictive, attention grabbing, flirty scent

Dwssss

This is the fragrance that has grown on me the most out of any other fragrance. At first when I sampled it I cringed, my expectations were COMPLETELY different from what I expected it to be. In my opinion, there is almost NO vanilla whatsoever. But I found this in my closet one time and I smelt it again, then it blew me away. This scent just SCREAMS rich and elegance. It smells like a uxorious hand soap, but in a good way. The sweet, honey, tobacco leaf, and lavender combination is absolutely amazing. This fragrance is also SUPER long lasting, I get about 10+ hours on my skin. At the base the tonka bean starts to shine which is where the sweet accord comes from.

This scent IS versatile, please trust me on that. No one will be offended if you were to where this in the high heat. Do not listen to the influencers online that say you can't. Sure, I will admit that it is better to where this in the colder weather, but you can do this in the summer (just keep the sprays low because it has really good projection).

Performance- 9 lasts 10+ hours on my skin, projects about 5-6 feet.
Scent- 9.2 could make it a little better if it was just a little sweeter.
overall- 9.1/10, this fragrance is one of my top 3's and it is guaranteed that I am going to get a bottle of this someday.

abdlhmd1

A beautiful prominently honey scent

This fragrance is a story of honey that starts in a rural bee farm, in a land of lavender and citrus trees being harvested where you smell pasteurised honey from bees that fed off white florals. The honey is then transported in a wagon with cashmeran & tobacco leaves.

I really love wearing this in the morning, a very uplifting lavender citrus and honey combo, and while you can wear this at night, I don’t advise it, unless you spray the perfume earlier in the day and it got time to develop into that warm honey-tobacco but at that time you lose a lot of projection.

& yes, the tobacco is noticeable and becomes more prominent over time.

jadepo21

Wow, this is not what I was expecting. Based on the notes I expected a lot more sweetness and warmth. To me, this is a straight male cologne citrus. 100% not my vibe, but I may pass it to my husband as I can see it working better on him.

archerries

A light, sharp citrus which blossoms into smooth honey and tobacco. I find it difficult to pick up notes other than honey on the dry down. The transition is incredible ! Really does smell like honey.

DSchwarz47

Nobody new wants to pay 200$ for a fragrance, but this is the perfect one to start on this fragrance world, it has practically everything, you can’t regret this buy even when blind-buying. I was surprised completely
Must have.

Bodya86368

Pretty good fragrance, honestly I don't expect nothing special, I really thought it wouldn't be better than Insurecttion II wild...
Smells a lot like Insurecttion II wild(pure havane dupe), but more juicier, sweeter and sometimes better. This won't be a long review, just to understand how it smells.
Top notes smells amazing, tobacco with honey and some citruses mixed with lavender, this combination makes the scent more exciting and feels more alive and expressive than all its perfume predecessors. Hard to understand how this fragrance smells like only based on notes or reviews, so i would recommend you to go and find it in your local perfume shops. But but i noticed one negative of this perfume, it smells worse at the end than at the beginning, and even worse than the end of other similar perfumes(I'm being a bit dramatic, actually everything is fine), except bogard pour homme, it's really not better. Longevity i can say only based on longevity of this fragrance on paper blotters, so it lasts 3 days easily.
Conclusion: Amazing blend of sweet tobacco and lavender, worth to try, deserve hype (I rarely write this in a review), little bit overpriced, good performance, i sure it's complimentary.

Smells like playdough on the dry down

Vokos

Absolutely Impeccable.. I don’t normally advocate for “blind buys” because I think people should sample things first before investing in them, but this an exception. If you like floral, vanilla, tobacco, amberish, honey type scents, then this in my opinion is one of the best, maybe slightly above Herod and Tobacco Vanille.

It opens up slightly floral, with a refined and mature lavender that is neither feminine nor masculine. And right away after the first few sprays I can pick up what smells like a light mountain honey in the background that adds a sweet aspect to the perfume. After about 15 minutes it dries down into a sweet smooth pipe tobacco fragrance enveloped in vanilla, amber and honey.

The compliments that people have given me have ranged from things like “this perfume smells like wealth and power” to “I imagine this is what it would smell like in the shire when Gandolf smoked his pipe” lol. It smells phenomenal and absolutely won’t disappoint, and because of how much juice you get in a full bottle and how much it projects and it’s longevity its a pretty safe buy.

ParfumGatekeeper

Just got this in today and here’s what I got to say
The reason why I bought this cologne was the notes were very similar to elixir and I figured hey it would be an upgrade since I finished off my bottle… I was WRONG!!! This stuff is more elegant, foreign, and intriguing than elixir could ever be, this stuff make me feel mysterious due to the subtle cinnamon and tobacco notes but fresh from the lemons.. this scent profile is like any other in my collection and I will definetly be adopting this as my signature

HawkarKamal

One of the best winter perfumes.

Femkedevos

This is absolute high quality perfumery with a lovely delicate sophisticated smooth honey scent … gorgeous… Sillage is moderate to small.. I oversprayed considerably… but it’s stil modest at best … might be better in warm climate .. a shame since it smells divine … I will try zoologist bee and hope that will give me more honey projection..

This is an amazing fragrance. Worth a try or a decant. For my tastes it is too sweet for warm weather and thr price point is absurd. Other than that it’s pretty close to perfect.

Prunel

Incredible fragrance. The first 30 minutes are mesmerizing. To me this is really masculine. I could see a woman wear this but she'd need to be very bold. Surprisingly fresh opening that dries down to a smooth blend of tobacco, vanilla and honey. 12+ hours lasting power, strong sillage. Do not go crazy on the spray if this works well on your skin.

Orcanomix

Joy in a bottle... masterpiece.

Update 3/26/24

Its funny how my favorite fragrances now are the ones I thought were a little off putting sweet or had a note that I thought I wouldn't ever like.
Naxos when I first got it I already had pure Havane from Mugler to compare the scent and while they are similar, there is some major differences in my opinion.
1- it has a lavender note that I did not appreciate until I used this fragrance more. Drydown is also slightly more spicier.
2 - Pure Havane may smell better but It does not project or last nearly as long as Naxos. Literally its a scent bomb and I love it for that as pure Havana does not get nearly as complimented.
The more I used this fragrance, the more I have appreciated and experienced a truly unique scent.
Its sweet, masculine, alluring and seductive. The scent trail is next level.
Every single time I've wore this fragrance, does not matter the location I have always gotten complimented by women how amazing I smell. When they ask what it is and I tell them naxos, they are always like "whats that?"
11/10 Scent, Longevity, projection, compliment factor. To smell different and truly amazing is getting harder nowadays with so many dupes. But this stands on its own as top tier.

kris-tine

The dry down reminds me of Libre le parfum. The difference between them is that I feel more sharp lavender in Libre, which bothers me. It gets very sweet but overall is a nice fragrance.

kitkatya

its nice! but just a little too sweet to be right for me.

Most of us heard of blue fragrances. Versatile easy to wear sweet but fresh scent. Now imagine you take the best blue scent and you upgrade it to golden scent. This is how this fragrance smells like. Smooth honey with tobacco mixed with fresh lavender and citrus background. Unfortunately this fragrance is not the type of fragrance to be worn on a daily bases, but it is indeed wearable in every season, on dates and special occasions, with huge projection and being long lasting (3 hours of projection, lasting about 8 hours). This fragrance just smells like on whole other level to me.
9.5/10
P.S. keep in mind that this is the type of fragrance that ages with time, increasing the richness and making it longer lasting.

Wabdo_7

where do i start. Naxos is beautiful, it opens up with the bergamot and lavender which is so soothing, then it dries down to a jasmine, overpowering honey, and a touch of tobacco. Its quiet linear to say the least but it is amazing and it is extremely potent and lasts ages. Some people say its cloying, which i agree with, but it is cloying in a good way. Its quiet similar to tobacco honey but with a more toned down honey and a smooth jasmine that removes the harshness

edit: this stuff smells so good in the air, a smooth honey-jasmine mix that is not harsh at all

(my bottle is mascerated, so longevity and projection might differ)
scent: 9.1/10
longevity: 10/10 (i get more than 12 hours on skin)
sillage: 10/10 (amazing projection for around 6 hours then projects at elbows length)
overall: 9.7/10

Darokes85

Forget the other notes, this is a beautiful Honey, tobacco, lavender and vanilla fragrance. Naxos has the best use of a honey note that I’ve ever smelled in any other fragrance EVER. It’s so smooth, sweet and photorealistic. Honey notes in other fragrances dry down to a urine like smell on me but not the honey note in Naxos. Beautiful. The tobacco and vanilla are blended perfectly in support of that beautiful honey. They don’t stick out individually but instead blend to give the honey note depth and dimension. They almost give the fragrance an olfactory texture of silky smoothness, and the lavender balances everything to keep it from becoming too cloyingly sweet and headache inducing. Masterfully done. Sublime quality. My only gripe about this composition is I detect a faint anise/black licorice/fennel note in the opening that I find unsettling, but it fades as the fragrance settles on skin.
I can’t relate to anyone who claims this fragrance doesn’t perform. I would not call it “beast mode” (I loathe that expression) but I get about 10 hours of longevity and it projects nicely for the entire wear but the sillage is the true star. This composition lingers and wafts in the air around you like a silky veil in a warm summer breeze. So full and robust yet light and silky smooth. It’s definitely an experience. A scent for a TRUE gentleman. Don’t wear this if you’re a crass ‘alpha male’ or an inexperienced youth. This fragrance demands style, maturity, class, sophistication and quiet virility to successfully pull off. Beautiful fragrance, blind buy worthy even… but not for everyone.

aakaashrio15

naxos is a well blended perfume. tiktok has been calling this "NPC" but trust me nobody around you would every smell like this. the transition from the light citrus and floral to honey and tobacco is just amazing. and not to forget about the insane 10+ hours of longevity and LOUD projection. everyone says this is a winter fragrance but id disagree, it could be worn at any time of the year. but i dont think this is safe for blind buy as it reacts differently to different skins.

Like all of the celebrities whose are at the front of everybodys eye... it is very divisive. From my perspective: I still remember the first sniff of this juice.. which is a very impressive thing considering there is a tons of fragrance outhere.. at first sniff of the sprayer it was a big NO for me because I felt too sweet, feminine and cloying and too honey like.. but I made my choice and sprayed on.. and something interesting happened.. it was much more different on skin. The citrus note is sharp and made intriguing contrast with the sweet notes and levander ..hevy duty vanilla in the base but there is some kind of ice creamy quality to it so it is really nice and comforting.. gourmandish... but I was still not impressed.. However, somehow, after a couple of trial actually it started to grows on me.. and evolved .. (or maybe I did..) and it turned to one of my favorite.. a Modern fougere.. a modern classic.. Currently I have a 2023 batch which is more fresh and citrusy like the old batches and I like this one more..

thefragrancelover33

I love this fragrance so much. I love the lavender and honey notes especially. It smells so nice and sweet. It's more male but women can also wear this. Definitely recommend this fragrance.

perfumeduhu

It’s a totally different experience wearing this during different seasons. To me this is very honey heavy and it’s a hyperrealistic honey note. I can also smell the citrus in the opening and the lavender. The very faint tobacco note keeps everything from becoming too sweet. I’ve smelled this on other people and then the tobacco note was not faint at all but the note that dominated the scent trail. We probably all don’t realise this wearing it. All in all this smells very nice and high quality. However, it smells more like a vacation on the countryside in a Mediterranean country to me than something formal. It actually smells very summery to me, but in high heat it becomes too heavy. That’s the only downside I have with this: it doesn’t fit winter in my opinion, but above 25 degrees this becomes too cloying. Thus, there is only a limited time throughout the year when I can wear this.

Edit: I saw some reviews recommending 2-3 sprays in SUMMER???? Please, maybe you don’t smell anything anymore apparently, but with THREE SPRAYS of this beast in SUMMER no one will come anywhere close to you. This is a VERY strong fragrance. You’re going nosebleed. I sprayed once into my knee in summer once and could still smell it all day long…

Histamine

This is wonderful. A classy and comforting scent that is mass appealing yet interesting. Lasts all day and changes over the day and it gives me whiffs constantly. I turn noseblind very quickly to some fragrances but not with Naxos. I am not wearing fragrances for compliments but this one is obviously something that has appeales to people. It is strong though, so do not overspray.

Honey and vanilla may be the main players here. But it is the combination with other notes that makes this shine. I adore the combination of citruses and lavender in this. I get a similar concept with some of the Acqua di Parma fragrances. I was wearing Sandalo yesterday and although otherwise a different fragrance, it has a similar feel fresh and lavender combination on top that transports me mentally to a Mediterranean classy neighbourhood.

The tobacco on this is a refreshing kind of tobacco. Different than in Parfum de Marly Herod, which I Also love. Naxos keeps the tobacco on the background and adds freshness to it.

This feels like being my Sunday fragrance. I could wear this at any season. The sweetness makes this appear initially more like a cool weather fragrance. But I think that I could wear this even in the heat of the summer.

becham54

The most beautiful tobacco perfume. It is masculine and very high quality, long lasting and has high sillage.

KerriZ

Interesting reviews of this fragrance. It is a love or dis-love. IMO, or at least for me, alot of that has to do with being a gourmand fragrance lover -- or not. I am on the not side of that equation. So consequently it takes a very unique gourmand to sway me. And because most Xerjoff's are gourmands they tend to not be my jam...All of that is to say while this is a love for many it is not for me. It rang very honey- vanilla forward and cloying to my taste...If you love the sweet I say sample it. If you're like me - hard pass.

Wiek_scents

Very mixed views on this fragrance. One part of the community hates this fragrance and the other say its one of the best fragrances of all time. Unsurprisingly they're both objectively wrong. Which is hard to do because fragrances are mostly subjective. Starts of slightly medicinal (which I think is caused by the lavender) complemented by a little bit of citrus. Turns quickly into a very sweet scent, in an impressively good way. New formulations have little tobacco but a lot of honey, vanilla and tonka bean. Most mass appealing fragrance in my collection, every untrained nose loves this. Yes this probably beats the monstrosity thats called sauvage in appeal. Pleasant medium projection and sillage, 12 hours of longevity. Quality is sub-par for the price, scent got boring to me very quickly.
described in 1 sentence: honey and vanilla bomb with medicinal opening.
7,8/10

Aqua di Man

I don't like combination of vanilla and honey, this make this fragrance cloying, and it's not masculine at all

Zachhh

This is a very good fragrance that’s hard to dislike. The ingredients are all higher quality and you’re hit with the smell of lavender, honey, and tobacco. I feel as if the lavender and citrus hits harder in the beginning and it dries down into the best smelling honey and tobacco combination. Has to be at least a top 3 for honey & tobacco fragrances (1st for me).

prodara

On my skin, this has crazy silage, and I only need to use one spray for people around me to notice. I think this actually makes it a pretty good value because you don't need more than 2 sprays. It starts off with citruses and lavender, then you get honey with jasmine, and the tobacco is barely prominent, only supporting the fragrance. It is a harmonious blend of honey, vanilla, and florals in the air. I don't know why but on my skin I get a lot of jasmine, which makes this unisex.

Contrary to popular opinion, I find this a great fragrance to wear in warmer sunny weather, it just smells like summer to me. Although it is strong and has density, it has a light, wispy quality to it that makes it very enjoyable and easy to wear.

Edit | 12+ hours longevity

TomK2209

What a great scent! I ordered the Naxos as a sample, along with 3 others and wow! This is definitely one of my favorite fragrances right now!
To me, it smells a lot like cinnamon, with a bit of honey and vanilla. I'm not the best at picking up notes though...
Lasts quite a while and is nice and strong, BUT be careful! One spray too much and you'll be washing it off yourself.
I'll be sure to order myself a 100ml bottle!

Small tip: order from their own website, you can pick 4 free samples! I'm going for the Casamorati Mefisto, 1888 and the Torino21 and Comandante!

Edit: A colleague thought I was wearing a "female" smell?? Should I headbutt her or give her an uppercut? Just kidding lol, it seems the female-male slider here is correct. It does seem like a male-leaning unisex smell.

Viktor 8382

Smells so good, opening is kinda meh tho. But It really shines in the drydown. Honey, Vanilla and tobacco mixes together and it's just perfect. Looking to add this to the collection soon.

Smjörbrandur

its over hyped and overrated but still really opening is not the best but the dry down ia just a very nice scent overall really good dont pay retail even tho im going to have to do that

nicolealissa

It opens with bitters, spiciness of cinnamon, and sour lemon. It reminds me of blue moon ice cream, incense, sweet vanilla cream, and honey. It is pleasant, light, and long-lasting.

LootCeption

I like it, but there is just one thing that annoys me about it. That being it lasts way too friggin long on me and my clothes. Now thats not a bad thing and most would want that, but I just get tired of smelling it when I spray it. On me it's a very prominent sweet honey citrus and cinnamon. Now the scent itself is enjoyable and comforting but I like to spray multiple different scents throughout the day and this literally will just stick to me and my clothes until I shower and change them. A very good fragrance that I would recommend but I can only tolerate it for a few hours.

ManicMonkey84

Flies so high in the initial blast, but doesn't stick the landing 💯. If you're a fan of honey that doesn't come off as synthetic or too candied, this definitely ticks the box. Tobacco, lavender, and vanillic notes are seamlessly integrated as well, making the first few moments of bloom on the skin a heavenly experience. Things take a somewhat disappointing turn after about 15 minutes when it begins to smell like an upscale bath product with the aforementioned honey and vanilla notes dialed all the way up. Still, I would call this a highly pleasing, front-loaded fragrance that will surely pull in compliments from everyone. Projection and life-span are both strong, but they're also what you'd expect for this (highly inflated) price tag.

travisscottlover911

As the rich scent of Xerjoff's Naxos enveloped him, John closed his eyes, letting the layers of citrus, honey, and tobacco wash over his senses. It was a fragrance unlike any other he had experienced before. The freshness of the citrus danced with the sweetness of the honey, creating an intoxicating blend that seemed to transport him to a sun-drenched Mediterranean island.

Memories flooded his mind as he recalled the first time he had discovered this masterpiece. It was a warm summer day, much like today, when he had stumbled upon a boutique perfumery tucked away in a cobblestone alley. The elegant bottle of Naxos had caught his eye, and as soon as he sprayed it on his wrist, he knew he had found something special.

Since that day, Naxos had become his signature scent, a fragrance that he wore on special occasions and ordinary days alike. Its complexity and richness never failed to garner compliments, and it had become a part of his identity.

As he stood there, reveling in the scent, John couldn't help but smile. For him, Naxos was more than just a fragrance—it was an olfactory journey, a reminder of the beauty and artistry that could be found in something as simple as a bottle of perfume.

With a contented sigh, he opened his eyes, ready to face the day ahead. Today was a day for adventure, and with Naxos as his companion, he knew it was going to be a good one.

joaquinc

sharp cough drops in the best possible way. honey opening is so yummy and the vanilla gourmandness kicks in just as it dries down

elmiguel

smells good... i wouldnt pay 150. smells almost like cough drops to me. overrated erba pura better tbh

Mitsubishi lancer Evo X

I dont see enough people talking about how much of a soapy fougere vibe this one has, to me the lavender in this, is the same as old school masculine fragrances but it has a heavenly soft sweetness which gives it an elegant edge, a perfect year round fragrance imo if you want to be appropriate yet different in your own way

RexTenebris

Alright, I finally tried this and bought a bottle. I honestly thought because of how much hype I’ve read about this it could not live up to expectations. It actually exceeded my expectations a little bit.

Floral, creamy, spicy honey. The honey note is dead on and I can’t stop snorting my hand to figure out why it’s so good. It mimics that real life sensation when you smell real farmers market honey and you get that almost menthol-like / aromatic sensation in the back of your throat.

The florals and citrus keep the honey fresh, and the tobacco and cashmere notes keep it spicy and respectable. I find it very comfy, soothing and classy all at once. I feel like I could wear it to anything. Leans masculine to me. I’m glad it lived up to the hype!

10/10

cleonlidaris

Greatest tobacco-honey dna I've ever come across. it is amazing how "fresh" and "airy" it smells given the strong presence of those two scents. I am one who thinks all freshie, green, blue, vetiver, citruses are mid (bvlgari tygar's grapefruit notes are nice, rest can burn), and this is a scent that i will be rocking in the summer even, just spray only 2-3 sprays and it's chill. i prefer finding the best frags in a specific genre to having a huge collection (can u tell by my other reviews) and tbh i can't imagine how a scent can get the tobacco dna or honey dna better than this

Limatani

The most beautiful scent I have ever smelled. Gorgeous lavender and vanilla and honey. Surprising doesn't last the longest on my skin but still worth every penny.

edmundhusserl

this is what people talk so highly about? what?? it would be one factor if it were just a case of an overrated brand, but others i've smelled from xerjoff, cruz del sur, and la capitale, to name two, are both fantastic and far more natural-seeming than this. to me, it smells like a slightly improved generic mall vanilla scent, and the acclaimed honey is nowhere to be found. nothing like layton, or jpg elixir, or any comparison i've seen made, simply uninteresting and synthetic

pureangelgirl

something super salty and fresh about this... mmmmm

Robin19

One of the all time best Niche Fragrances...

1Noir

Smell fantastic, with longevity
I can easily pull this off year round

Zenfold

Deliciously creamy. I want to eat myself and whoever sprays this.

Lasts LONG.

Sillage explosive.

THE PACKAGING. OMG THE PACKAGING. Please BUY this and the packaging alone feels like a hundred pounds.

kundi301

Only seen a few say it's similar to layton, and i somewhat agree. This just has the honey and tobacco. Smells really good, love the bergamot and lavender in this as it gives a much needed freshness to the sweetness. What makes this fragrance good is that it's simple yet beautifully elegant whilst being pretty versatile.

Griffin6080

I feel like this fragrance has been really overhyped. I really like it. I wear it pretty often. But in my humble opinion it’s inferior to other sweet gourmand fragrances like Layton. It’s missing a wow factor for me. With that being said. I still like it, and it’s a really easy wear

cinamonywhiskey123

i think it is a great fragrance for both genders and even it is good for summer but the starting may be too feminine but after like 30 sec or 1 min it becames masculine and intense the longevity is around 7 hrs and the projection is about 1.5 feet. The lavander may be intense but it is overall 85/100

Elposa23

I bought a sample in 2020 from Xerjoff and fell in love with Naxos. Bought a bottle in 2021 from their website and I’ve been trying my best to love this fragrance since. The bottle doesn’t smell anything close to the sample. The sample was much sweeter and creamier. The bottle is tobacco/lavender overdose.

StHo

Honey, vanilla, and tonka bean are the stars of the show. This is a really nice fragrance. It’s pleasant, it’s not weak, and it lasts all-day. I got a sample and knew immediately that I wanted a full bottle even though it’s not going to be a daily wear of mine. Overall 9/10.

Benlarsen

Overall:
Welcome to the land of honey tobacco fragrance. XJ 1861 Naxos Xerjoff is a well-balanced scent that is sweet, warm, and inviting. Phasically, the balance of this cologne is near perfect from open-to-dry down. With an open that has an explosion of floral honey from the lavender and jasmine, we see transition to tobacco in the dry down where it gets support from tonka beans, vanilla, and cinnamon. All of the notes in this scent are complimentary to each other and do not battle each other.

XJ 1861 Naxos vs. A*Men Pure Havane Mugler:
Most reading the comments section for this honey tobacco niche are looking to distinguish between and discern the "best" honey tobacco fragrances. For this reasoning, we're going to be looking at the contrast between this scent and A*Men Pure Havane by Mugler--the best honey tobacco scents. Both are incredibly similar in note composition and in balance, yet they differ slightly in their masculinity. Where XJ 1861 Naxos has tonka bean aiding the vanilla, Pure Havane has rich cocao. The tobacco is complemented by the cocao and patchouli, all playing a more significant role in the wear of Pure Havane making the honey less not as pronounced. The best way to think of these two scents would be looking at two brothers--to the naked eye they look and act the exact same, but those who see them frequently, there are easily spotted differences. If given the choice, I would go with A*Men Pure Havane Mugler due to the bump in masculinity as it makes wearing it in different settings more possible. The price in Pure Havane as well as finding an authentic bottle makes is not realistic. The longevity of Pure Havane is also inferior so if one were to find a bottle, this could be another added downside.

How to Wear:
This scent dominates in colder weather because of the immense sweetness of the honey. Coldness numbs the receptors for sweet, so we should be mindful of the dose and setting. In cold settings, XJ 1861 Naxos gives a warm sillage that is very detectable and contrasts with the cold well. With temperature, the dose could be stronger in a linear relationship. In harsh winter climates, see yourself wearing 2 sprays of this outside without offending others. In warmer climates, 1 spray should be enough as the boozy sweetness may be overly intoxicating in a nauseating way. Many say that this scent should not be in an office setting, yet I disagree. 1 spray of this should last for most of the day and if in a controlled office environment, I can see this being a really pleasant wear. The scent is inviting and has no harsh elements.

Rating: 8/10
This was one of the hardest ratings due to the criteria I use to rate. I like to rate it for the category/genre it resides in, how suitable/versatile it is across diverse settings, the uniqueness, and then the classic Fragrantica specs (i.e. longevity, cost, etc.). As a honey-tobacco scent, this is a 9/10. Subjective, of course, but Pure Havane slips ahead for a 10/10 for the scent category. As for versatility, I do believe it is an 8/10. This should not be limited to just colder climates, though the dose should instead be changed. For uniqueness, this is an 8/10 due to this coming after existing and established honey-tobacco scents. For the Fragrantica specs, longevity is good, cost and availability is fair, and the radius that the scent covers is strong, getting an 8/10. If given the chance to pick between this and Pure Havane, I would go with Pure Havane, though the majority I believe would go instead with this. I do love both so if looking to buy, I think you'll be very happy.

JaySentz

Yes probably overhyped, but it is a classy sweet tobacco fragrance that is easy to wear and comfy. The sweet fresh lavender opening is welcoming and the honey and tobacco are easy to pick out as well but the tobacco is more a dry blond tobacco and not very loud and sticky spicy one. Probably a good intro to tobacco scents.

This scent doesn’t get up your nose and even when I apply a bit heavy it doesn’t suffocate like richer tobacco fragrances. The more I wear it the more I like it. On the fence about full bottle worthy because there are more bold scents I like more and not sure the lavender honey is for me.

Dy7no

This is a very interesting fragrance that is very rich smelling and complicated. Yet the lavender and bergamot blends with the honey and tobacco really well. It is a very smooth smell that can be a great signature scent. However, it is overhyped and didn't live up to my expectations. I still use it pretty frequently though.

rickkkkky

I don't know what they've put in this damn bottle but that much I know that it's fucking mindblowing.

tekquare

I honestly see no major flaws with this. Idk how some people do not like it. Would definitely buy again,9.5/10

alexslam

There's something about this one that I just really don't like/is headache inducing.. on paper the notes are exactly what I was looking for so I was pretty bummed this didn't work out for me. I tried it a few times just to be sure and the headache got worse each try. I'm thinking it may be the jasmine/floral side of it causing this. Initial spray has a strong lavender citrus hit that I enjoy, then the more floral notes kick in with the cinnamon and honey. Definitely has a vanilla base which I also appreciate.

The dry down sweetness was really nice, but I just can't get past the first 30 mins or so of this one. I'm sure this would work great on many people, it just didn't work for me. It made me smell more "mature" - not in a good way. Would not recommend blind buying as it's definitely a unique scent that may not work for you.

Saebre

@n4ael, You're wrong. Naxos is not only a masterpiece in the niche market, it's a masterpiece scent generally. It's intoxicating, perfectly balanced, sharp when it needs to be while maintaining a stunning creamy and boozy dry down.

It's objectively perfect.

AussieScents96

Absolute beast. One of the best winter fragrances there is. I get a beautiful honey vanilla in the dry down and I just can’t get enough of this

Actxq

No clue why, but on my skin It smells super fresh, even in the dry down! The opening smells like clean laundry and as it dries, the honey and cinnamon comes in. The lavender doesn’t go away for me and it turns into a sweet clean fragrance. I actually really like this, never smelt anything like it before. Smells like a rich man on wallstreet, that’s the best way I can put it.

n4ael

love or hate , if you love lavender you will like this fragrance , this scent is really nice but the dry tobacco leaf is reallu prominent and it really annoys me , its the most overrated niche fragrance man istg , i still think initio side effect , absolute aphrosidiac , pdm herod , pdm layton , pdm haltane is way way way better than naxos , naxos is great but not that great it does not deserve the hype and the award of the best niche fragrance !!

kerolos

Unpopular opinion alert:

This does not remind me of Mulger pure havane and i own both.

Naxos is a very sweet and heavy perfume but could used in the summer and it smell heavenly.

19-FEB-2024

Jarlai

It’s not the best opening but, it’s a wonderful dry down. I love it and it’s one of my favorites. I wear it anytime, anywhere. I would not recommend to wear it out in the heat of summer.

Jayjay2

I don’t understand how no one says this reminds them of Layton. They are very similar!!

Saebre

To say it’s mesmerising doesn’t really do it justice. This speaks more of an epiphany. This is one of those perfumes you smell, and suddenly a voice in your head tells you ‘Oh, this is what perfume is meant to smell like’

lauracrasuleacmakeup

Great fragrance!

kitcat99

So when I first tried this I wasn’t taken by it but have since decided to go back to it. Uhm what took me so long!? This is gorgeous. Someone mentioned cigars and honey and that’s exactly what I’m picking up. I smell like a beautiful honey coated cigar. Love it.

Snicole82

This is full-bodied amazing tobacco and honey and definitely full-bottle worthy.

Amazing longevity
Amazing sillage

Drifters

I do love this fragrance. Lasts all day long. That being said, projection does go down later on. Regardless, the scent is beautiful :)

IllEst

On mine skin in the late drydown this is one on one with MFK Grand Soir...

clintjr82

Awesome scent for the mature man. Grown and sexy. GQ. Look no further for your special occasion or casual events. Jaipur Homme Eau de Parfum Boucheron And Joop Homme all in one on a niche level. Well blended. Good blind buy for the mature person only . This is better for a man in my opinion. I wouldnot like this on a woman . The performance is the down side, must be a new batch thing, so try before you buy.

Lvc

@wadeem you are right it was reformulated after the lilial ban, to me the darker juice is richer and more resinous, the newer batch is lighter and more floral. However the batch develops, let it sit for a few months and performance improves greatly

@assoula17 most of the pure Havane comparisons were to the darker juice (pre reformulation)..it was actually how I found out that it was reformulated. I brought Naxos because of the pure Havane references (one of my fav frags of all time) and when it smelt nothing like it I knew it had to be reformed. So I got an prereform bottle and i understood the pure havane comparisons, not spot on but a lot of similarities

assoula17

I seriously don’t understand the reference to A*Men Pure Havane! How do u justify the citrus notes in here? Pure havane doesn’t have a drop of citrus while Naxos has plenty, making it a fresher tobacco scent, while Pure havane is cozy, warm and deliciously sweet full of cocoa and vanilla.
The Lavender & jasmine in Naxos doesn’t help the comparison either.
In my opinion Naxos is just “ok” and even dare I say “meh” while
Pure Havane is just heavenly.

Update: after 30 mins of wear there is the faintest resemblance ever to Pure Havane, a very very light one and only when I press my nostrils hard and inhale. Needless to say, this isn’t the case with pure Havane. Like any Mugler perfume, you can smell them coming a mile away.

anikek

Smells nice, leans feminine a bit to my nose due to heavy jasmine, not sure if it differs in batches but this is what I am smelling a lot. It's a masterpiece surely but not the best niche fragrance for me.

Saebre

@Wadeem That just sounds like your bottle from 2019 had mild Vanillin discoloration. I’ve smelt this fragrance in every cycle and it hasn’t changed even slightly. Notably, this is my first bottle to myself, but I’ve since asked others who buy this more regularly than me (and of which I was first introduced) and they all agreed that it smells the exact same. What exactly is the synthetic note you’re getting outside of the discoloration? I have a new bottle and I don’t get even mild synthetic anything.

wadeem

I am so disappointed. I finished my bottle from 2019 which I absolutely adored.

Now I have a 2023 batch and it smells like a different scent. Straight off the juice looked way lighter (yellow) as opposed to my older bottle (orange).

It smells like a completely different fragrance and there is one aroma chemical very prominent which makes it smell very synthetic. At first I thought I was ripped off but I bought it at an authorised dealer and the bottle and packaging seem genuine. I'm confused... I can't be the only one right?

cinamonywhiskey123

i gice this fragnance a 8.5/10 because at first 30 seconds or so,it smells feminine and overwhelmingly sweet but 2 mins or more it projects very good and the longevity about 7 hrs and the dry down is masculine also honey, tobacco and cinamon also some fruity notes make it all perfect.

Carina Ferrreira

Sexy, thought-provoking and quite exotic! Smell of cigar surrounded by honey! It's the combination that stands out the most on my skin.

Saebre

@caliphate It is reviews like this that just feel completely pointless to me. How can you have an accurate portrayal of the scent when you're only going to be smelling a cheap knock off. Any mention of duplicate usage should warrant a temporary ban from this site.

Saebre

Naxos feels unbound.

Something about this scent is so sophisticated, as soon as I removed the lid I caught a glimpse of something - the first spray strikes and I'm caught in this heady, boozy, decadent jazz club of fervor. It's so creamy, warm, rich but unbelievably palatable. At no point does it feel cloying or overpowering.

Top notes are quite poignant, a syrupy aged whisky, vanilla, tobacco, warm spicy, I get an incredibly subtle lavender but it is almost a silent underpinning - like an extremely delicate bergamot and lavender static that clusters everything else together.

Dry down is creamy coconut, honey, almond, with mild tobacco, tonka and a quiet moss wood finish, it is so expertly blended it defies belief.

A head-turning, sensual masterpiece.

nic0v

The 2 notes that stay prominent with my skin are only honey and tobacco, I don't AT ALL get any of the sweet, citrus notes that some say they smell upon putting this on. Tried it on my girlfriend and she smelt like a cigar lounge lol. Simple and well crafted scent, but truly don't think it's worth the hefty price tag unless purchased through a discounter like Venba. I personally prefer vanilla/amber scents such as Valentino Born in Roma Intense or Prada Luna Rossa EDP and I concluded that tobacco based scents are NOT for me.

Overall 7.5/10
Don't really get the hype too much on this (sorry to piss some off)
Longevity is crazy
Def decant b4 purchase

Orz

Well Naxos is a boring masterpiece

The thing with Naxos, right is that it’s Sweet floral, citrusy, classy, sexy, versatile etc. It really is great for people that don’t have/need a lot of fragrances in their collection. Like if I could keep only 3 fragrances this would be one of ‘em, although i am bored of it.

I really don’t want to sound like a snob or some, but i really got bored of it. BUT i can and do appreciate it for what it is. Great for beginners and or people searching for a signature scent.

I have a 2022 bottle and i get around 8/9 hours of longevity with 1h of good projection afterwards another 2 of moderate prejection

Soo final ratings

OVR 8,6/10 (seems about right)

Mjchaelj

Very syrupy honey and lavander. I don’t really get much of the tobacco. It’s sort of in the background. This is pretty sugary and I’m more into dry fragrances but this is fantastic. This is perfectly unisex as well. I might have to get this eventually. The best Xerjoff I’ve tried.

9/10

samudex

Honey and tobacco. But is not like the tobacco in Red Tobacco, is more like a dry leaf. Is not my kind of fragrance, I find it more to the female side.

shehabo_147

Sweet sexy compliment getter for winter with a touch of a tobacco delicious 👌🏻

HueloBien

@sicilyzlilguiido
Listen….. if you think Naxos is a clone of Pure Havane by Mugler, then all the blue fragrances are clones of Bleu de Chanel.
It requires a narrow mind and throwing crap to a fragrance you don’t own or tried it’s like throwing a rock and hide your hand.

You are entitled to your own opinions but not the facts.

Naxos is smooth, refined. The fresh opening only last a few seconds, then lavender and honey take the front seat. About 30-45 minutes after it starts to turn a little denser to give the role to tabaco and vanilla. All well blended.

@BLACKZEORANGER said Boring. Well, I love this boring.
Each fragrance in my collection has a purpose and moment to be worn. It doesn’t need to be challenge, or rough, or obnoxious fragrance all the time.
If I go to a suit and tie event, I don’t want to be “that guy” that wears off putting fragrance that may be repulsive. In my collection, Naxos serves that purpose, or Dior Homme Parfum, Babycat, Tabac Nomade by Houbigant. If is a summer event, Louis Vuitton Imagination, Burlington 1819 by Roja.

The point is, each fragrance has a purpose.
If you only own 5-10 fragrances, this can be your special occasion, easily.

Don’t let the pundits set you back from trying Naxos. Just check their profiles and you will notice there are bots everywhere, or just oxymorons that trash a fragrance they cannot afford.

Cheers

BLACKZEORANGER

It’s so good yet it’s almost…. Boring. Don’t get me wrong I love this. I have 2 bottles. An older batch and a newer batch. New batches seem to have more honey in them. It smells great. I just think I’ve come across more fragrances that wow me more than this. Is it great, absolutely. Is it worth it, absolutely. Is it a staple to anyone’s collection, yes. Will it beat out the other fragrances in your collection? I don’t think so but it depends on what you like and what you have. I’d recommend this to everyone. But it might be a let down for someone expecting it to be the best thing since sliced bread.

daanrenheit

just incomparable

Christian Schacht

Beautiful scent, love it

Deddy

It is really smell like mugler pure havane but in niche version of naxos. Really similar!! May some of us say this is redundant. But we need the quality

Chris._L04

Amazing, it reminds me of a soft licorice sent (even with no notes of licorice)

qianqian

Very almondy to me. In no way it's similar to Nio. I prefer Nio as it's green and citrusy. Naxos reminds me of Dior Hypnotic Poison EDP.

SavageKing

This is a good scent but I prefer axe phoenix over this due to it being more complex than naxos

Mayson_

To me this is definitely a unisex scent. When I first sprayed this on my skin I got a fresh and uplifting honey and lemon opening. I found it to be good, but when this fragrance truly starts to shine for me is on the dry down. The tobacco and cinnamon notes really start to come through and I almost start to smell like the most desirable Honey Dutch ever rolled. It is borderline incredible for me on my skin and I will smell my wrist over and over after a while. I love this when I get those notes but sometimes I only get honey and lavender/lemon which is why I say it’s unisex. I really enjoy this and would definitely recommend. 8.5/10

L77

Kinda smells like a niche Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance. It is very sweet but it surprisingly works for hot weather as it does start a little bit fresh. A really nice blend of citrus, lavender, honey and vanilla. For some reason, I do get a coconut vibe even though there is no coconut note. Perfectly unisex but there are better sweet fragrances that I prefer as a male, like PDM Layton.

Note: You really must like lavender otherwise this is not for you

TheBrownNose

Naxos is a fantastic fragrance. It lasts all day long. It’s a beautiful balance of fresh, sweet, uplifting, cozy & a bit warm. The lavender & honey stays for the majority of the fragrance. Starts with an aromatic lavender honey combo for me, very slight citrus. As the scent develops the honey takes less of the main role and the florals push through a bit. Then the dry down brings on a very smooth cinnamon honey tobacco & subtle vanilla that is absolute magic to say the very least with the lavender in the far background somehow still keeping it a bit fresh. This is amazing. I can see how misusing this could lead to it being a bit headache inducing or cloying. This definitely needs room to breathe. Safe for year round use with the exception of hot summer days, mayyyybe you could pull 1 or 2 sprays of this off on a summer night.

tfek

As a woman who is only familiar with woman’s or feminine-leaning unisex perfume, I find this groundbreaking 😂 And I do love this to the point I am wearing it. I find the tobacco, lavender and cinnamon combo very appealing. It’s masculine and fresh, I don’t find it too heavy so I feel like I can pull it off too.

linaluvv

tried this and at first it was okay but the dry down was so powdery and not good at all, its more masculine and i would not reccomend. overall its okay i guess

JT8D-219

I sampled this today and DAMN, is it good...this and 40 knots are gonna absolutely wreck my wallet come payday lol

fisken23

@Oj266, or you could just stfu. You own one perfume and that’s from D.Beckham. Train your nose some more, then comeback, or not…

NOSEYBODY

All these years & no one mentions Naxos smelling like a slightly more Niche version of Versace The Dreamer.

Its literally the dry down of The Dreamer with slightly higher quality notes.

Uden Overdose also has that Versace The Dreamer DNA. Neither Naxos nor Uden Overdose are worth their price tag for that reason alone.

siverthov

This is going to be my summer evening staple scent. The citrus in the opening and the lavender joining the ride 'till the end makes this an all-year masterpiece, and for me Naxos will shine the brightest during spring and summer. Makes me feel like I'm sipping a fat ol' cigar somewhere in the Italian countryside enjoying the sunset at a wineyard.

Longevity outstanding for my skin (12+ hrs). Moderate projection.

Azoor

It's a honey and tobacco fragrance, I wear it in the morning and can smell it for the rest of the day and can smell it another two or three days in the car's seat belt
My wife love it and she doesn't want me to wear it f I'm out alone or with friends.

CiganoBU

Greatest fragrance of all time for me as on now. Alexandria 2 might be close but Iv only sampled and not actually given it a wearing so yeah Naxos #1 as of now

bunnykat

I got a decant of this after a run of other testers that were all 'Smells good but not sure I need it???' and then came Naxos. THIS I need. I am not super experienced but I do not get calling this a gourmand. Yes, I can smell the honey but calling it a gourmand because it has a sweet element feels like calling lavender-honey lotion gourmand. Not to say it smells anything like that basic--not at all--but the sweetness doesn't say 'edible' to me, nor is it powdery. Instead, it's herbal. It makes me think of the smell of hiking in California when you're up above the treeline and you're smelling the sweetness of salvia and the spiciness of wild sage. So many aromatics skew too fresh-spicy for me and make me think of a bar of Irish Spring soap, but this is so perfectly blended. It captures the upside of each of its notes while dodging the downsides. Together the notes unfold in what feels like perfectly orchestrated stages, so you can experience different facets of the combination like the changes in a kaliedescope. A winner and a keeper for sure.

LuisMgj

Just got a new batch. Lots of people say that the longetivity and projection lacks on new batches, I can disagree. Longetivity is around 8hrs+
Projection is great too, my mom literally smelled it in the living room and I sprayed around 5 sprays in my room, the whole appartment is basically Naxos now.

New batches don't lack anything

TobisDK

I dont know why, but this fragrance just seems to give me a headache. It's not so easy on ones nose, and nor do I like the smell of it. Just not my cup of tea, however many does seem to love this fragrance.

Oryon

Straightforward, simple, well blended. Comparing this to Insurrection II Wild is a lesson in perfumery. They have similar notes and are structured the same way but Naxos has several touches that make it better. The citrus, the lavender, the blending. It's more elegant and smells more high-end. I've not smelled Pure Havane but I've heard that Insurrection II Wild is very close to that fragrance. If you are feeling FOMO about missing out on Pure Havane when it was available and are thinking of paying a lot of money to obtain it on auction sites or fragrance groups, don't. Just buy Naxos. It's a superior fragrance with niche presentation. This may be the definition of blind buy safe. Very pleasant, classic, comforting. Not high level experimental perfumery, but well blended and well balanced. Suitable for lots of situations. Most people will enjoy it when you wear it. The performance on my sample is weaker than I expected but that's alright. I think it would be nauseating if it was much stronger.

XMANTHEFOURTHIV

Anyone who considers making a fragrance collection NEEDS this. This is a masterpiece fragrance that is a sweet honey bomb. Smells like a higher quality Mancera Red Tobacco. This is a hall of famer 3 time best niche fragrance in a row for a reason. The only complaint I would have for this is that the opening is easily dislikeable, but as time goes on and it moves onto that honey and lavender that its known for, it becomes worth every penny. No more than 3 sprays

Surfinirfin

I saw many people say this was the best of the tobacco honey/vanilla rum fragrances and based on the supplemental notes, i thought i would really like it.

But it one of my least favorites. I know, I know. On my skin after the dry down it smells burnt and i’m getting a headache.

I have not smelled the Tom Ford one, but I tried 5 fragrances with a similar manly vibe they are ranked as follows:
1.) oud for greatness
2.) side effect
3.) guerlain tobacco honey (requires a lot and does not have sillage.
4.) bvlgari man in black
5.) MFK grand soir
6.) this, XJ naxos
7.) margiela replica jazz club

nevena1968

Ovo je nešto najljepše što sam u životu pomirisala. Osjetim med, cimet, vaniliju, duhan, lavandu i sve je tako stručno uklopljeni da te totalno zavede. Miris bogova i valkira.❤️

Ruskie29

Xerjoff Naxos is for the fragrance lovers. The opening is a sweet vanilla honey then drys down to a powdery honey lavender. This deserves all the hype it gets. This is great for someone just getting into niches or have been in the fragrance game for a while. It has a mature but youthful sent that will stand true to the testament of time. Masterpeice

InfirmièreParfumée

This is one of those blind-buys I crossed my fingers at. Unfortunately, the odds weren’t in my favor. Sure, the packaging looks like it might as well be Cohibas cigars and the bottle so distinct , but, the notes aren’t spectacular.

It’s not an awful scent at all either. It’s a comfortable base note which reminds me of my laundry in the dryer with 3 dryer sheets spinning . Fresh top note, sweet middle and soft dry base. I’ve used it going out once and I didn’t get that “your perfume smells nice!” scenario from anyone.

Of course, this could all be because of my skin. Again, it’s a tasteful scent that I believe any gender can pull. Someone told me it’s more of a feminine scent because it is sweet but Stronger With You is also sweet. As a man-scent, this can convey a “I’m easy like Sunday morning” message. I hope that says something? Come to think of it, I now realize that this scent may work better on a man. ♥️

Bizzy1995

Opens with a a burst of fruity citrus which immediately fades into a very warm honey & cinnamon with hints of jasmine. Base is sweet tobacco with soft vanilla and Tonka.

I would consider this to be a masterpiece.

Södertälje

True elegance in a bottle! Outstanding scent and performance

JAIDEEP13

Simply put the best tobacco fragrance out there. Not to harsh and lasts for ages. Amazing quality in the smell. A Must buy

Eetu50

Absolutely beautiful fragrance very long lasting and projects like crazy on my skin. I would say this is definitely worth it even if it is pricy.

ZeaMoore4

The scent reminds me a bit of "Parfums De Marly, Layton", with honey. So basically a more sweet and less fresh version of Layton. They don't smell the same, but close enough for a comparison. A very nice scent, but i don't quite get the hype, as i personally think that 1861 Renaissance is the better fragrance from the line (and a completely different kind of scent). Naxos is giving me a headache with 1 spray after only 5-10 minutes. But after 15-30 minutes the headache inducing part seems to have disappeared completely and it becomes a absolutely gorgeous scent. (Doesn't always induce headaches. for me it's every 3rd wear on average)

Opening: Honey, lavender and jasmine. Has a Very Strong menthol note that waters the eyes (gave me a temporary headache). It has a kind of licorice scent to my nose that goes away after 10-15 seconds.

Mid: I start getting a lot more of the cinnamon and a little vanilla on top of the honey and lavender smoothed out with jasmine. No longer giving me a headache after 30 minutes)

Dry down: Lots of cinnamon, bit of honey, still has that menthol note and vanilla, bedded on a bed of jasmine. One of the best dry downs i've smelled (though the menthol part could be toned down a bit).

9/10 is the score i'll give it. The overpowering opening makes it tough on the brain. But if you can weather the storm it becomes fantastic.

This is not quite a blind buy safe fragrance. Although it is a fantastic scent, you might end up getting headaches and never use it again. Most people will Love it though.

karinavi

it's just like every single men's perfume i've ever smelled in the opening but transforms into a unisex (slightly masculine leaning) mon guerlain-esque lavender vanilla with a dash of honey. it's smooth and not overly loud unlike so many other perfumes with honey notes, the jasmine and lavender really balance it out. however it definitely does have a waxy candle-like quality and gets tiring to smell not long after applying. i'll stick with my mon guerlain intense!

edmnd47

Naxos is a masterful blend of lavender, honey, vanilla and tobacco. It opens up with this really heavy syrupy sweet lavender/honey combo and it has a slight of this airy mint undertone (reminds me a little of PDM Layton in that regard). It dries down into a beautiful creamy vanilla with tobacco. I have about 12hrs of longevity with very strong projection and sillage. I would say it is not that safe for a blind buy, cause a lot of people think its a “older dude” frag or that its only wearable for some formal dress up situations. Imo its an all year round frag and you will smell very luxurious with it.

Scent: 10/10
Projection: 9/10
Sillage: 9/10
Longevity: 9/10

alqudsfrag

Got this a few weeks ago and its amazing, projects alot for a long time, for me easily lasts 15h, in the start its very fresh and drydown smells like vanila icecream with tobacco perfect blindbuy for me

frankcoelho

I've got a newer batch of it, and in reality I don't deem it similar to many other things, thought the scent profile is "generic" when it comes to tobacco-honey. Really the lavender is what locks me into it.
Easy to wear, though still easier to dress up than down with it. Leans masculine but can certainly be worn by women.
Not sure, but this gives me an old school vibe, not in a fougere/aromatic way, but more as in - the blend is so smooth that I can't really pick out the note pyramid, more of a creamy idea.
Got my 100ml for ~$130 so, great deal.

haynesar

it is hyped, although i do not understand why. it smells good sure but i cant say much more than that.
Its honey lavender that transforms into tobacco. the honey doesnt go away

Jamesverut56

I recently acquired Xerjoff naxos ( the new formulation) and it's very mediocre doesnt perform well and the opening smells very cheap however the dry down is very nice and I would still say it's full bottle worthy.

Kyer

The first smell of Naxos was heaven for me, but as it went through I ended up not loving it as much.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s an excellent fragrance but I think it just wasn’t for me, it’s really a really sweet and high quality honey scent but also high in lavender which gives it a rather barbershop/old school feel to it, which is what I didn’t like about it.

A lot of people say it’s a safe blind buy as far as niches go and while I would agree that compared to other niche fragrances that are really polarizing this is definitely an easy wear, but I would definitely recommend testing first because as I said, at least for me it was a tad too sweet and felt a little mature because of the lavender.

lemalelmao

Went with like 6 sprays of this and ended up getting choked in the car. Projected so strong for the first few hours I nearly died. But this is a very heavy scent for me so definitely do not wear it in hotter weather otherwise it can choke people out especially in enclosed environments

Slithered

Beast mode fragrance with one of the best openings I have ever smelled. Very potent, so be careful with sprays (last time I used two, went to the car with my girlfriend and I almost choked her😅)

OutsideTheBox

In my opinion this just smelt like a higher quality version of red tobacco by mancera. Unfortunately on my skin the only notes I could smell after the dry down were the lavender and the tobacco. No honey, no vanilla.. Very unfortunate with how hyped up this fragrance is. I wouldn't say its anywhere near mass appealing either. Many individuals will enjoy this fragrance, but don't buy it thinking it will be a crowd pleaser.

Deddy

It is just like mugler pure havane! I dont get the hype. Yes, i must admit , the quality of the naxos is more than pure havane. But in terms of scent profile, they both share the similarity.

ybkal

Manisnya enak, beda dari yang lain.ngingetin vibes arab arab gitu gatau kenapa yaa.

Pauley004

Naxos has a great dry down for sure but to be honest i dont like the opening as much as the dry down. Try it on skin instead of paper because it will be different.

NoMilkToday

Love it, but ONLY in summer, otherwise lavander is much too strong for me.

Finglass807

Bought into the TikTok hype with Naxos, But was quite happy with this fragrance. Great performer even with a new batch and smells great

Kid_Buu

A must have niche perfume. 10/10 masterpiece.

Kwiyanse

One of the best perfumes ever made, period.
