I really wanted to have it, because I love OG This is Her and I love violet and ginger. It’s unexpected because I don’t detect any notes here. It is very sweet sirop, far sweeter than OG, and powdery. I feel almost no spice from ginger, which is unfortunate. As it dries down I can detect This is Her DNA, but only because I am looking to find it. It is unique, it is candid violets with some thick juice on the side.

EME88

I loveeeee this perfume, amazing for every day gets me complements all the time,so powdery sweet but fresh kinda ,I adore the violet in this perfume.Since I got it I can't put this down.Signature scent for sure. The longevity is amazing too,I just adore this omg

Pashmina95

For me a big glass of realistic Grenadine syrup! Fresh and naturally sweet. Fantasy berries and violets with a smooth and slightly powdery vanilla.

bahar1208

This scent makes me feel more energetic, kind of wakes me up with the ginger note that is the right amount of spicy. It's very balanced, i love that it is a little creamy and not loudly floral. Not similar to the perfumes that are overworn and i like that people are pleasantly surprised when i wear it, it's not the typical "good weather" or beach perfume. Very interesting, good longevity, the silage depends on how much you spray which is also a plus since it can vary from subtle to beast mode.

Devved

Really like this one, great price and the most soothing, sweet and creamy sandalwood. Wore it throughout winter and last year`s summer. After it settles down, it smells more expensive than it is. Great longevity. Safe buy, inoffensive and pleasant. Would be great for the beach.
Update: I`ve had this for a while now and gosh, I love this sooo much!

Lamiawitipo

I love to wear this when it's pouring rain, very cozy and calming like a ginger honey tea. Not as unique and loud as "This is her" but definitely lovely and signature worthy because it still has "something". Moderate longevity and sillage although it lasts for days on clothes.

Edit: it grew so much on me that it became one of my absolute favourites, unfortunately it is IMPOSSIBLE to found now.

paulinefrance

I smelled it on a friend and absolutely fell in love. I remember her filling the ENTIRE room with a beautiful violet scent.

Because I loved it so much, I decided to buy a full bottle without trying it on myself, big mistake!!

I LOVE the dry down of this fragrance. It's so cozy, so distinctive, but I find myself very bothered by the opening unfortunately.

This note isn't even listed, but all I get in the opening is an overly synthetic strawberry that I just can't stand! Is it the ginger? No idea! But I only start to really appreciate the fragrance after about 2 hours. Which is a long time to wait!!!

Iris128

Bought this today to cheer myself up and it did the trick! It's spicy, sweet, fun, girly and the ginger note is to die for. I'll definitely go for a bigger bottle (got the 30 ml), this is my everyday signature and mood fixer perfume from now on.

ilsagold

I have given a couple of testers. Wife liked it on her. She has allergies for synthetics in most perfumes but this luckily didn't ruin her experience. I tested this on my skin thinking ginger at the beginning keeps this a bit unisex. But no, powdery violet with vanilla is making it feminine at middle and base. Not too bad, but only for women around 30s. Suitable for spring, fall, winter.

elizecharlotte

One of my favorite scents in my collection. It is sweet, but not the immature/childish kind of sweet. I do think that it is too heavy for a spring or summer daytime perfume. Maybe for a colder summer night it would be good, but the woody undertones give make it perfect for fall to me.

beatrix75

I love this fragrance! It is so summery and beautiful 😍 🤩 and fluffy, really worth the money!

SPena

I received this perfume few days ago and today I am wearing it..I must say this is BEAUTIFUL!! It is a very well balanced fragrance with a little bit sourness and spicy and sweet that makes it perfect. I fell in love instantly.

Once a sprayed this perfume I immedietely smelled a strong ginger note, and i loved it! It's not a very unique scent but it's definitely pretty and easy to wear both during the day and night. The drydown is vanilla-y and woody, a classic combination. Overall 8/10 i really recommend it for an everyday scent!

Kiki kollia

I don’t even know why I bought this for real. At first when I tried it I said wow and the next day boom I hated it. I would say it’s controversial it has a heavy note I don’t know where it’s coming from it’s maybe ginger. Not my every day, not my go to, not even my type. Friends have said that it’s smells nice but not my type of nice. Some days I’m feeling to wear it and and the most of them I hate it not gonna buy it again and I can’t wait to finish it even though I have 30ml for 2 whole freaking years🥲😵

nahmpunch

This is beautiful.
Simply lighter version of ‘this is her’.
Not complex but the scent is so gooood and its performance is far beyond the price.

pinkmossy

Powdered vanilla, sandlewood and a slight hint of ginger. This is very sweet so you have to enjoy sweetness for this one. Sweeter than the original this is her, with a similar vanilla sandlewood base.

Whish I got more ginger and iris to balance it out, I prefer it in cooler weather as it can be intense in a humid and hot environment.

Osmanthus Seeds

Personally, I don’t like this perfume at all. I don’t think it’s a bad scent, but it’s too heavy for my liking and really bothers me for some reason (perhaps I don’t like the strong ginger note). It has a very strong sillage and stays for a very long time, which is good if you like the smell, though it’s unfortunate for me, I can sniff the perfume out within a 10 meter radius.

I wouldn’t recommend this for a blind buy, but if you find you like the scent, it’s a decent choice.

okay , I have JUST ROCK,THIS IS HER and THIS IS LOVE. Whoever wrote that this is similar to 'this is her' obviously hasn't got 'just rock'. Let me explain. All three share a similar dna.

To me just rock was such a love...such an intriguing and well blended perfume, but: too much patchouli.Like way too much. Its quantity kind of ruined it for the rest of its magical composition. It didn't make it smell bad or anything, it just made it unwearable for certain circumstances, certain seasons, certain weather conditions-and this comes from someone who is a very light sprayer, like one spritz in one inner arm and then dabbing that arm to the other arm to transfer the perfume, and that is it.

This is her, shared the dna, only way less patchouli, creamier and very very lactonic. I really liked that one, only... too lactonic to me. Too much milky vibe that made it a bit 'bleh' to me...

'This is love', is basically 'just rock', only the patchouli is waaaay toned down with a small touch of 'this is her' ( just a bit of its 'lactonicness' -yes, I like creating words here). So you can say it is the love child of these two, only it took more of 'just rock' and just a little bit of 'this is her'. To me this is the safest blind buy choice of the three as it combines the gorgeous perfume dna, and took down the notes that made it too much for some people in the other two.

It lasts fairly well and projects lovely and creamily and yummilly within an arms length, and this is indeed love for me! (pun intended :D )

AryanasPerfumes

This is Her, but warmer and sweeter without that screechy cold vibe of the other one.

It's an addiction

This has the DNA of This is Her, but gives of another vibe. It goes a little more towards candy/synthetic sweet, where the other is more warm/lactonic sweet if that makes sense. I do get a touch of (how I remember) Gucci Rush very faintly in the background, though this has a warmer feel to it. Hard one to describe, I do prefer This is Her.

Kon-nos91

It's a bit strange. The difference between this and the very first hit "This is her!" EDP is tiny. The first time I smelled it, I liked it and I can put my hand on fire it was summer of 2019. I usually pass quickly sweet/floral/blah perfumes but "This is love" has something milky/strawberr-ish/chewing gum-y? For sure not the fruity aspect of strawberry but more of the Trident if you get my point. The 'milkiness' of the original became a rice powdery vibe and I can hardly tell freely the idea it gives me is of a teenager girl in love. Dressy and casual, perfum-y and chill, serious but nasty. I can't get the hate from most of the reviewers and although the original is and looks better, it's not as groundbreaking. One advice, you can easily layer it with the original because the sillage is very good. Everybody likes the milky/sandalwood combo in a way Zadig & Voltaire made the unisex "This is us!".

soumayaela

I was offered a sample of this perfume and i sprayed it not knowing what to expect...
Well i have mixed emotions about This is love, in the description it's described as a vanilla powdery warm spicy and it's EXACTLY what it smells like! It's a spicy vanilla woody perfume, as simple as that! It has a vintage vibe too! It reminds me of a perfume from Avon but i don't remember the name!
I don't hate it but i don't love it either! Didn't get a wow effect
Best part about this, it projects like crazy it fills the room, i sprayed it this morning and now at 11pm i still smell it stroooong

aris1223

Where can I find this in the US?

Jasmindee

Fresh, flirty and a little bit retro smelling.

I got this as a gift from my beloved and although I actually asked for "This is Her", I'm pleasantly surprised with This Is Love. The bottle, packaging and pink colour scheme are fun and romantic.

This reminds me of an early 00's perfume, that for the life of me - I can't remember. It's driving me absolutely crazy, but it must be the vanilla, ginger and violet mix that's making me think of something. If I remember, I'll edit it in, but the light ginger spices make this perfume smell almost vintage to me.

Opening spray is sweet and fizzy. This is one of the few perfumes where I can really decipher all of the notes. Starts out with ginger and vanilla, then sandalwood and delicate violet, before finishing with a very linear vanilla with a hint of spice. This is Love is uplifting and light and perfect for Spring/Summer, however I agree with other users that this doesn't have much lasting power or silage.

I like it - but there's a small part of me that's disappointed that I didn't get the one I wanted - It's just not sweet enough for me. Others are saying this is a sugar bomb, and I disagree. To me it's more of a light mist of spices and florals on a bed of vanilla... Oh well, I'm sure the pretty bottle and kitsch name is what made my boyfriend choose this one instead, and I can't sound ungrateful now, can I?

I wouldn't re-purchase but I'll happily use up the bottle.

EDIT: I think I figured out what this perfume reminds me of. It's like a lovechild of Guerlain's Insolence and Gucci Rush!

kkaattjjeess

I do enjoy This is Love!. It was a blind buy, I loved the sound of the middle- and base notes but the ginger top note scared me a bit. Luckily, I don't smell much ginger in this. I love the creamy vanilla-sandalwood dry down, definitely a true Zadig&Voltaire scent, my 3rd and final addition to the "This is ...." family. Kinda sad I bought the smallest bottle.

MademoiselleMaya

It is charming at first, but front-loaded. Not a true love, eh.. :D
A bit too simple, after 2 hours there is only vanilla and sandalwood in stingy proportions.
At first one could detect something more cheerful and innocent - did not scream ginger at me, more the sugary violets, but blended into something more abstract.
I am giving an o.k only - because the performance is also average - low sillage and poor structure, does not last well.

Please, do not use big words if the content is so average. You are selling cheap trinkets as quality parfums attracting the audience with words.
This is a love for tooth-rotting cheap sweets, if at all ;)

Liene

Fluid and warm vanilla icing ready to cover the finest cake, quality ingredients no doubt, but still This is Love! is very edible scent. Maybe not sophisticated enough to call it gourmand. That is a bit silly term anyway… You know – commercial chocolate bars are delicious, but they aren't really gourmand, are they?
Terminology aside, I have to admit I dislike vanilla in perfumes more often than I like it. And this is vanilla heavy and dominant. I’ve hoped for more ginger and sandalwood. The scent itself is nice and warm, sweet, welcoming. It would not bother me on others as it is very likable, just not my thing really.

Opening is soft vanilla with some fresh ginger for spicy balance, then soon the vanilla overtakes it. For the first hours some violet comes into play also with its usual characteristics – note of moist and fresh somewhat powdery florals. Violet makes the perfume softer and lightens up the warmth and sweetness giving nice radiating sillage. Later towards drydown ginger gets drier (like ginger powder) remaining some spiciness and dynamics in the scent, but mostly it is just a soft vanilla bean paste scent, especially on the skin. Sillage seems more complex with its spiciness. There is also some woodiness, which could be dry ginger or sandalwood. The latest is not prominent, assumingly well blended in, as there is not only woodiness but some milky qualities in the perfume, as well.
Moderate to strong sillage. Good longevity for the whole day, and as a skin scent it lasts into the night. Autumn, winter and early spring daytime suited and quite versatile.

ladolcemae

Black Opium is one of my fav perfumes, but I was looking for something different. So bare in mind that I picked this one over my favvvvv scent.
Really love it, it functions so well with my skin ph. Sugary front notes of a vanillary violet, spiced up by the ginger. The sandalwood is quite faint, but so refreshing; all the notes are realllyyyy well balanced, making it a sweet, dynamic, sultry, addicting, multi-dimensional perfume. The more you smell it, the more you SMELL. The deeper you breathe, the more it reveals its layers. The linger scent is GORGEOUS, an almost creamy vanilla with a hint of pop-corny, buttery touch? And the violet/ginger tickling the nostrils, making you wanna smell it again and again.
The longevity is okay (2-4h on skin) but longer on clothes - then again, few fragrances actually hold long on my skin. One of my fav perfumes, I personally think it can be worn year long (maybe more of a summer/spring fragrance because of the ginger, that gives a sort of "icy" side, but I definitely wear it during fall/winter days too). Such a comforting smell. Love at first smell, as far as I'm concerned.

Came here to add that this is strikingly similar to DSquared2 Want Pink Ginger. I just got the Want and definitely striking resemblance, only This is love is sharper and more zing in the opening, later on Want Pink Ginger takes the more masculine direction though. Both are beautifully wearable vanilla-sandalwood-ginger. Yes to both!

Edited to add: Wearing This is love in colder weather now, and it definitely has more of a toffee/caramel feel to it. Softer, sweeter, rounder than in warmer weather.

alicem

Just got this today, very chemical Aqualina Pink Sugar vibe, no violets, no ginger, sweet and cloying smell. The base is beautiful milky and soft sandalwood, but you need to survive the top notes and middle notes to get there. Do I give up on it? No, I think this fragrance has potential to develop into something more interesting in colder humid weather. Strangely it develops better on fabric than skin.

My husband hated it, asked to never wear it arround him.

JolieSucre

This is my second negative review of something produced by Zadig & Voltaire, after This Is Her. I think I am just not one of the people who would appreciate the brand's creations.

I received three generous samples of this (would never purchase anything of the sorts myself) and have used it over the course of a few weeks, going back and forth. 'Used' is a bit of an overstatement, as I applied it on my skin while at home - would never venture outside wearing anything smelling like this.

I just cannot wrap my head around what the creators do, in general. So far their two perfumes that I've tried have the same linear, detectable notes that just don't blend well together, and smell like a plate of ingredients you can immediately separate from one another. Very unfortunate mixes too.

I completely agree with the reviewer below complaining about the ginger in this one. The only difference is that this time, ZV managed to get a high-quality extract in this one. The ginger smells almost like freshly chopped rhizome, in your kitchen, on your cutting board, right under your nose. It is very spicy and pungent, very strong, the overpowering note.

The second thing I smelled was again, their usual, cheap sandalwood with a sad, rainy lactonic tinge. The ginger - sandalwood combination is just so unfortunate, and the faintly milky residue of a whiff just aggravates it all. The bottle is beautiful and summery, the scent, just sad.

I can understand that this fragrance is a take on something more 'commercial', considering the bottle and the overall vibe of this perfume. It definitely tries to be 'summery' and 'sexy feminine'. But anything with cheap, smoky and reeky sandalwood AND the freshest ginger would just never work for me, ever.

I cannot detect any violet, that could have probably at least turned this around from the disaster it is. There is a tiny bit of an amber thing going on, but it definitely cannot help with the overall incense scent.

The two scents I smelled from ZV are just laundered incense sticks so far. One with a stronger milky note, this one with a bit of a spicy zing from the ginger - still bad.

No doubt there is a market for such scents. However, if anyone is considering this for a blind buy, given the rave ZV scents get on YouTube - I highly recommend you first smell it and try it on your skin.

bianca_11106

This is Love is quite similar to This is Her (without the nuttiness) and Just Rock (without the incense), it has the same creamy woody vanilla base.

Someone, here in the comments, mentioned it has a fizzy drink vibe, and I totally get that; to me, it smells very much like Dr. Pepper (a mix of cola, a bit of bitter almond, and anise) but only in the opening.
I don't really get the ginger and the violet is barely there and I'm kind of bummed because I was expecting more (this was a blind buy).

What really shines in this fragrance is the sandalwood and the vanilla, and like all the other fragrances from this line, it has a very creamy, sort of milky vibe to it that makes the composition soft and warm.
I don't have any issues with the longevity, this stays on my skin for more than 8 hours, and it has a moderate projection at first but then it sits very close to the skin.

For me, Just Rock is the best from the line. This is Her turns very sour on my skin (like spoiled milk) and This is Love has a loud and kind of aggressive opening so I'm not liking this as much as I thought I would.

alit

Initially I get a quirky spicy ginger zing, soon after sweet and subtly powdery violet, so subtle that I can hardy tell if it's a violet or some red berries, very alluring... All settles down in the soft sandalwood base, very comforting and warm.
Nothing groundbreaking but it's totally a love for me! 💌

Mona Lygre

This is NOT love - this perfume is POISON!!!

If you are an allergics, stay away from this horrible pulloted water.

I like ginger, I have some few nice perfumes with ginger, but they are not as awfull as this.

Ginger is ment to warm you up, but this one is boiling in my veins and cooking my lungs (astma), I also got a terribly strong allergic reaction on it. My mum (87y) got very worried for me, because I'm at her cottage with her, 22 km away from the nearest doctor. We don't have a car, and there are seldom any busses. Luckily I survived.

Tiny drops of it, a tester, landed on the carpet, and my bedsheets, it's some days ago now, and, I still react to the ingridients, so, I'm not happy about it.

I haven't smelled this perfume thoug, because I got instantly sick, but, if you have some allergies, stay away from this thing.

hypnoticpotion

When I got this I absolutely loved it. This is Love has a really softly sweet cozy yet super fizzy smell to like like a fizzy drink.

There is a softness, smoothness and roundedness that the Violet gives. I assume its the ginger that gives it the fizzy drink sort of vibe like ginger-ale. It’s woody, powdery. The sandalwood is there, Zadig & Voltaire do sandalwood so perfectly.

The bottle is also beautiful with the gradient colors

Sadly it doesn’t even last 1 hour and disappears. Tried several times but had to sell my bottle because it wasn’t worth it. Such a shame since it smells absolutely delicious and drinkable. If you don’t mind longevity and no silage I would definitely check this one out!

cathrinejohanne91

This one is an cozy scent.

I really like this one, for me this is an woody vanilla scent with a hint of freshness from the ginger note. It's not too heavy. This is the first parfume from Zadig & Voltaire I like. Sadly it doesn't stay on the skin as long as I want it to. But if you want an cozy spring parfume look no further, this is the one! And the bottle is so beautiful as well.

Miruna

Smells like expensive hair spray, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I can see it as a non-offensive, everyday scent. Totally likeable!

Woody, powdery, vanillic. An overall pleasant mix, very well blended, none of the notes really stands out.

Oh, and the bottle is a lovely gem.

justfloral

Try it if you like Sexy Amber by Michael Kors.

After spraying: watermelon? + red currant? + soapy shampooish note
After 5 minutes till now: traces of fruits + sandalwood soap (with dark chocolate nuances) + amber? (the same "saliva-licked" note of sour sweat, intimate! sweat as in Sexy Amber). It smells strongly of saldalwood soap (powerful alkaline soapy note, you can almost taste bicarbonate of soda) mixed up with intimate sweat. Now I understand the name.

raiza1990

Pleasant surprise! It's warm, sweet but not sickening, just a bit powdery and just a bit spicy. It's simple but very well done. A good flanker of This is Her! The original was cold, this one is warm. It's difficult to say which one is better. Both are very good. It's uplifting and relaxing at the same time. It has personality but at the same time it's a very easy to like fragrance. I recommend it to anyone waiting for a vanilla perfume with a plus.
Final note: 9/10

Wyded

The opening is fresh, i can smell a sweet violet, then the drydown is almost the same as this is her original, sillage and longevity are very good, it is more suitable for spring i think. I like the OG, I like this one too. The bottle is pretty
