Children have been our eyes and ears in Star Wars for the past couple of decades, from Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Clone Wars to Ezra Bridger in Star Wars Rebels and Rowan Freemaker in LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures. When they embarked on their individual journeys, we tagged along for the ride, witnessing their trials and tribulations and learning lessons with them along the way.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch continues that tradition with Omega (voiced by Michelle Ang), a young girl who’s lived her entire life in the clone facilities. When Clone Force 99 arrive on Kamino, she immediately recognizes them and introduces herself. Nala Se describes Omega as her medical assistant “with a curious mind that causes her to wander.” A clone trooper later on calls her a “lab scrubber.”

She’s more than just a medical assistant, though. Omega is a genetically enhanced clone, just like Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, and Crosshair. That’s why she’s deeply interested in them. “I like you,” she tells them at the commissary table. “You don’t fit in around here either.”

According to Tech, she possesses a state of heightened awareness. This ability briefly pops up later on when they’re in the brig together. “I know what you’re doing to do, but please don’t,” she says as she places a hand on Crosshair’s shoulder. “I know it’s not your fault. You can’t help it.”

She’s also clever and thinks quickly in the heat of the moment. When Clone Force 99 try to board their ship under heavy fire, Omega grabs a blaster and stops Crosshair from shooting Hunter, allowing them to safely escape. Hunter compliments her on the impressive shot, but she says she’s never fired a blaster before. Clearly, there’s more to Omega we don’t know. Even Nala Se and Prime Minister Lama Su’s private conversation adds more mystery around her character.

“Until the Empire’s intentions are made clear, say nothing,” the prime minister tells Nala Se. Say nothing about Omega escaping or something else? Crosshair saw Omega leave with Hunter and the others. He’s bound to report this update to Admiral Tarkin, so there must be more about Omega the Kaminoans are keeping secret.

For now, Omega is the latest addition to Clone Force 99, and she’s quickly becoming a fan-favorite character.
