The Turkish actress Tuba Büyüküstün is starring in the series 'Asi' the lovely modern rebel girl from a conservative community. She takes care of stray dogs and is sensitive in the fate of children and she experienced the most romantic love as a teenager.
While the Croatian TV viewers are watching the rebel girl Asi, a new series of the Turkish actress Tuba Büyüküstün is shown in her homeland. While Asi deals with the future of their farm and tries to rescue her family from bankruptcy and disgrace, she is playing a gypsy girl in new TV series "Gönülçelen“. A flower girl, whose life changes when a famous musician saw the beauty of her voice. Since then he is in love with her and with his knowledge and experience he tries to support her carrier completely. The story probably sounds known and for good reason it is: It’s the Turkish version of the famous musical "My Fair Lady".
“The six months of preparation for the role Hasret were the most exciting period of my life. Not only that I took dance lessons and singing with the top teachers, but I also moved in circles from which comes Hasret. Hatice Tuba Büyüküstün was born on July, 5nd 1982 in Istanbul and is the only child of a Mechanical Engineer and a bank official. The name Hatice was given because of the first wife of the Prophet Muhammad and Tuba means in Arabic the tree of life in heaven.
“I grew up in a conservative country, but in a modern bourgeois family. While other children were with their mothers at home, my parents enrolled me in kindergarten. The rest of the time I spent mostly with my grandmother who raised me, because my parents never were at home. How I yearned for their care and love as a little girl. I was very withdrawn, even asocial. And still today I have a lump in my throat when I remember how I was sitting alone in a corner in kindergarden” recalls the actress, who was at the Art Academy Mimar Sinan in Istanbul and who graduated from stage and costume design.

“I love to design costumes and clothing. I designed dresses and costumes for myself and others and yet abandon the thought that I will do it again professionally one day” Tuba said, who went into the show business as a student. While a colleague, who shot her to exercise, a photograph observed her and she got the representative of the Swiss watch.
“Modeling significantly improved my student pocket money, but due to the first "easy" sums of money, I lost my head. Although many people that time thought that she and Murat Yildirim, her partner from the series "Asi", were the perfect couple in real life, they had never been a real chemistry. Even if Tuba stole many men's heart, she considers the most romantic relationship her first teenage love.
In the Middle East Tuba was offered millions of dollars to accept a role in a local soap opera, but she was not interested because she didn’t like the script.
“I was 14 years old when I fall in love the first time. We just had sympathy for each other and we just looked at each other for a year until he gathered courage and approached me. I remember how he sometimes waited the whole afternoon before the entrance of the school, when I wanted to go home. It was really sweet”. She is convincingly the most popular actress and one of the biggest stars in the Middle East, where she got an offer of millions to accept the role in an American soap opera.
The dark side of fame

I was afraid to open a newspaper, because I knew that I would find them as new "exclusive" shots and would read fictions about myself.” It is not easy to live: Tuba asks if she shall stop to see her parents and go on the beach; do others suffer when she sees them and go at the beach?
She is especially sensitive in case of children and animals, especially dogs. When she sees stray dogs outside in winter in the cold her heart burst and she didn’t know how many dogs she has taken home, fed and cleaned by fleas.
Although she knows that this is not a permanent solution, she says that the instinct to help them is stronger than her; because Tuba always follows her feelings.
