До колкото съм чела, детекторът на лъжата не е 100 % сигурен, даже можеш да бъдеш обучен да го "излъжеш".

The Dutchman, who first came to police attention after neighbours complained about the smell coming from the incinerators, said detectives had turned up at his farm early yesterday --morning.

Plain-clothes officers took photos of the furnaces and the surrounding buildings and land. Yesterday afternoon two more detectives wearing dark glasses arrived to inspect the rusty incinerators.

They spent 20 minutes at the farm and left taking with them documents about animal cremations.

Mr Hoos claimed that police asked him about the recent visit of a Polish couple who had brought a large bag, asking for it to be incinerated.

He said detectives asked him it if was possible that there had been a baby in the bag, which was sent to Lisbon
for cremation. But he claims that he checked and it was a Labrador dog.

Maddie parents: We'll do lie test
'LIE DETECTOR TEST WILL CLEAR OUR NAMES'
By VERONICA LORRAINE
September 21, 2007

KATE and Gerry McCann are willing to take a lie detector test to clear their names, it was revealed last night.
..............................................

Gerry McCann is certain the kidnapper of daughter Madeleine was hiding only feet away as he checked on his children in their holiday bedroom.

The heart specialist believes the predator may have entered the family villa through patio doors more than an hour before the alarm was raised, leaving the bedroom door ajar.

When Gerry called in, the abductor lay low in either the bathroom or the McCanns' bedroom.

He then escaped with four-year-old Madeleine through a window.

Police have questioned how a kidnapper would have known when the apartment would be empty.

But Gerry and wife Kate - who are both official suspects - are convinced their daughter was snatched to order after being watched for days.

The McCanns' startling theory emerged for the first time yesterday as the investigation into her disappearance reached its 141st day.

A close family source said: "Gerry is firmly of the view that the abductor was already hiding in the apartment when he went to check on Madeleine.

"He believes there was certainly something odd.

"When Gerry leaves, the man realises he has only a few minutes. He thinks the only way to get out without being seen is through the window."

The McCanns, both 39, were dining with friends only yards from their Algarve apartment in Praia da Luz when Gerry went to check on the children on the night of May 3.

He entered the apartment at 9.05pm and saw Madeleine asleep in her bed with twins Sean and Amelie, two, in cots on either side of her.

But, mysteriously, the door to the bedroom door was open.

Although Gerry thought nothing of it at the time, he has told friends he is now sure he previously shut it.

Our source said: "When he went in he saw Madeleine was asleep but the bedroom door was slightly ajar.

"He thought 'That's odd' because he'd left it firmly closed. But the children were asleep. So he just closed the door again and came out at about 9.10pm.

"Initially he thought Madeleine might have got up and gone to the toilet, or to get a drink or something.

"Now he thinks the abductor was in there hiding.

"The theory is that the man came through the patio doors, knowing he had only a few minutes before the next check.

"The rear doors are out of sight from the tapas bar where Kate and Gerry and their friends were eating.

"The front door was locked. So the kidnapper took Madeleine and climbed out of the window.

"He thinks it's the only way to get out without being seen."

Dinner companion Matthew Oldfield checked on Madeleine and the twins at 9.30pm. But he only listened at the door and did not physically see them.

Kate made another check at 10pm and found Madeleine disappeared.

It emerged yesterday she spent up to 10 minutes searching the apartment three times before raising the alarm.

She then ran out, screaming: "Madeleine's gone! Madeleine's gone!"

Another of the McCanns' friends, Jane Tanner, saw a man carrying a child wearing pink pyjamas similar to Madeleine's at about 9.15pm.

He was hurrying in the direction of the villa where suspect Robert Murat lives with his mother.

A detailed description of what the McCanns did on the fateful afternoon of May 3 can be revealed for the first time by the Mirror today.

Portuguese police were reportedly baffled about the McCanns' whereabouts during the six-hours leading to Madeleine's disappearance.

But Kate can prove she was never alone with her daughter that day, rubbishing claims she secretly harmed her.

Madeleine was pictured by Kate that afternoon dangling her feet in the swimming club at the Ocean Club resort next to Gerry and sister Amelie.

A digital clock on the print gives the time as 1.29pm. But the McCanns said the clock was wrong and the photo was actually taken at 2.29.

Minutes later Madeleine went to a children's club at the resort where she spent the afternoon. All children have to be signed in and signed out by staff.

Normally the child's name is entered on a form with the time they arrived at the club and time they left.

While Madeleine was at the club, the McCanns played tennis with a resort professional and friends.

It is believed twins Amelie and Sean were at a creche.

One source revealed: "Madeleine had high tea at 5.30pm with staff at the kids club. She was picked up shortly before 6pm by Kate and Gerry.

"After that Kate and Gerry went home, got the kids ready for bed and got set to go out for their meal.

"Kate was never alone with Madeleine that afternoon. There were always other witnesses present.

"These details were all given to detectives during police interviews, so they know what Kate and Gerry said happened that day."

But the account clashes with a claim that the family visited the Paraiso restaurant in Praia da Luz at 5pm.

A waiter recalled: "They made you smile. They were full of fun."

Staff at the restaurant say the family was caught on CCTV.

The footage was handed to police a week later.

Yesterday the owner of the restaurant, Miguel Matias, stood by his version of events.

Put up or shut up, Madeleine McCann police told

Friend of McCanns counters claims of ‘lost’ six hours before girl vanished

Detectives believe that there are inconsistencies in their story when it is compared with the accounts of their seven friends who were on holiday with them in the Algarve.

Senior detectives have suggested that there was a six-hour period in which the movements of Madeleine and her parents at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz are unclear. A photograph was taken of the child at 2.29pm at the pool of the resort and, according to police, it is unclear what happened from then until 8.30pm when Mrs McCann sat down to dinner with her friends at the tapas bar.

The McCann family friend said: “Madeleine went to the kids’ club in the afternoon, after the photograph was taken at the pool. There are written records and witnesses.

“Madeleine was there while Kate and Gerry played tennis with the tennis professional and other witnesses. She had high tea at 5.30pm with staff at the kids’ club. She was picked up shortly before 6pm by Kate and Gerry.

“After that Kate and Gerry went home, got the kids ready for bed and got ready to go out for their meal.

“Kate was never alone with Madeleine that afternoon. There were always other witnesses present.” The source added: “These details were all given to detectives during police interviews, so they know what Kate and Gerry said happened that day.”

The latest account of what happened on May 3 emerged after a restaurant owner in the resort claimed to have seen the couple having tea with their daughter.

The friend said that Mr McCann is convinced that later that evening he may have come within a few yards of his daughter’s abductor when he saw her for the last time, a friend said yesterday.

The source said: “The ball is back in the Polícia Judiciária’s court. They need to put up or shut up.

“We feel that the judge has said to the police that they need to go away and find some more evidence if we’re going to take it any further.

“They need to back up what they’re claiming, or stop.”

Gerry: 'Intruder Was Hiding In Flat'
Gerry McCann believes he may have been just yards from the intruder who abducted his daughter Madeleine.

He is believed to have gone to check on the children at around 9.05pm and found them all asleep.

Mrs McCann looked in at around 10pm and discovered Madeleine was missing.

It is believed that when she went to check on the children a gust of wind in the room caused the door to slam behind her.

It was then she realised the bedroom window was open and her eldest daughter was gone.

SECOND SIGHTING IN MADDIE HUNT

A SECOND witness told police he ALSO spotted missing tot Madeleine McCann in MOROCCO, the News of the World can reveal.

A British man saw a young girl closely resembling four-year-old Madeleine in Marrakech, just YARDS from where she was sighted the same day.

And his account was made BEFORE news of the strikingly similar report by Norwegian Mari Pollard became public — and will renew pressure for a fuller search for the lost toddler in Morocco.

Crucially, both sightings were in the same location in the city of Marrakech on May 9 — and at around the same time of day.

Portuguese police have never released any information about the second witness, who comes from Yorkshire.

But a source close to parents Kate and Gerry McCann confirmed the man's sighting was reported.

According to our source, he saw the girl alone, close to the Ibis hotel — just across the road from the petrol station where Mrs Pollard saw a girl she thought was Madeleine.

The source added: "When the man, who is from Yorkshire, arrived home from Morocco he saw Madeleine's picture and was convinced he had seen her.

"He reported the sighting to police and the Leicestershire force passed this on to the Moroccan and Portuguese authorities.

"Maybe it's the same girl, but the authorities have not yet been able to establish whether it was Madeleine.

"It is significant that the man made his report unaware of the other sighting. So we have TWO independent sightings in the SAME place."

Mrs Pollard, 45, insisted she was "100 per cent certain" she had seen Madeleine at the garage on the--- morning of May 9 — six days after the youngster vanished from her family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal.

The Norwegian, who was staying at the Ibis hotel with her British husband Raymond, was at the Afriquia garage when she saw a blonde girl standing near a man in his late 30s.

The girl was asking him in English: "When can I see Mummy?"

She claims she instinctively felt something was wrong — but did not approach the girl. It was only when she returned home to Spain and saw appeals for Madeleine that the penny dropped.

Mrs Pollard said: "I am sure it was Madeleine. She was a sweet girl with a very cute face.

"She was standing alone, with a man about a metre from her. She looked sad and a little lost."

News of the second witness in Morocco comes just days after Portuguese police admitted they are now considering all options, including that Madeleine could have been abducted.

The McCanns, both 39-year-old doctors from Rothley, Leics, have been named as suspects in the case by Portuguese police. The cops have leaked stories suggesting the couple sedated and accidentally killed Madeleine, then got friends to help cover it up.

Heartbroken Gerry and Kate have always insisted their daughter was kidnapped, and the latest witness account adds weight to this theory.

Last night, a source close to the family said: "The significance of this sighting is that it was reported at the same time as the one by the Norwegian woman.

"This shows the person did not come forward as a result of publicity about the Norwegian witness, but is entirely independent.

"The fact that there are two separate sightings of a young girl looking like Madeleine in the same area, at the same time, give a great of deal of weight to this line of inquiry.

"Gerry and Kate are encouraged by this news and are fully aware it is significant."

Morocco has a reputation as a haven for paedophiles and its close proximity to Portugal and Spain immediately caught the attention of the McCanns.

Ferries leave eight times a day from Tarifa in Spain — a five-hour drive from Praia da Luz — on the 35-minute crossing to Morocco.

Maddie's frantic parents visited the town in June and held up pictures of their missing youngster, as more than 100 children who lined up to meet them chanted the child's name.

During the two-day visit, they met the Moroccan interior minister and conducted a series of talks with child protection officials.

It is understood they also met Morocco's top policeman to seek reassurances that everything was being done to investigate if their daughter was being held there.

Due to Portuguese laws, police are unable to talk about the investigation. But Gerry and Kate will be desperate to know more details of the second Morocco sighting and how it is being investigated.

A source close to the McCanns said: "Gerry and Kate are anxious the focus is on finding Madeleine.

"From day one they have insisted she was abducted and they are clinging to the hope someone is holding her and she is alive.

"They will continue to do everything possible to find their daughter and want people to remain vigilant and report anything that can help to find her.

"Until they are told different, they pray for the day when she can return to her family and they will never give up hope."

In a further development, it emerged the lie detector test the McCanns have offered to take to clear their names is not valid in a Portuguese court.

State prosecutor Joao Rato said: "It goes against constitutional principles and our penal code prohibits its use."
