Castiel’s Big Role in the Final Episodes of Season 9
Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve felt a little short-changed when it comes to Cas appearances this season, so this latest bit of news made me very happy. In a chat with the Huffington Post [ ], Misha Collins revealed that Castiel will play a pivotal role in the finale episodes of the season and that Castiel’s storyline will merge with the boys’.
“Cas is definitely on point and on mission in the effort to try to track down Metatron and right things in heaven. His mission and the boys’ mission will converge and they will be working together again, quite heavily. Cas is pretty involved in four of the last six episodes of the season, so we’ll be seeing a lot of him,” Collins said.
Collins also revealed that Metatron will be played by someone new, so it looks like the angel is going to end up getting tossed out of his current meat suit.
“Metatron — he doesn’t look the same, by the way,” Collins said. When asked to clarify that meant he’s being played by a new actor, Collins replied, “Yes. Metatron, Cas and Gadreel become the central angels at the end of the season and the focus really shifts back to Castiel as our sort of central [angel] – it’s Castiel and Metatron pitted against each other. So that swirling mass of dick angels coalesces into just two dicks, Cas and Metatron.”
