Kali, I like the way you are expressing  superuu I wish I could do it like you, but I cann't. Lack of background - that it is. As I like to say, my ENG is пичing English... каруцарски  Laughing
Regarding to the question, I learn new words by reading English websites, by listening BBC radio or Discovery Channel (lately). Moreover, my hasband has read English literature very often and some times, when he found out something intersting and important he has gave me this material to read it. Then I learn new words too (as well?)
Oh, I was thinking to write other things, but I have to finish because a work croped up Tired

I have questions. Virginity, are you sure that we only can use quit for напускам работа, but not leave? I read recently British book for interviews and there has used leave. Girls, please comment this point Praynig
Moreover, I would like to ask you what is correct: I start/ed working for company ABC or I begin/an working for company ABC?

hahahaa, sorry, i read "вещиците" instead of "вещите". I recognized myself in the first one Wink it felt just like being at work Simple Smile

you can also say: I joined ABC.... ; I got a job with ABC;
leave is more formal than quit

Where has everybody gone?!
Where da hell are y'all??!?
(do i hear an evil witch giggling outhere?)

book ABOUT interviews
Listen TO the BBC

.......Then I learn new words too (as well?)

Thanks Geri, I am sure your English is far better than my marketing skills. I make my living explaining Englsih, i have to be good at it. Though I find this message board a challenge. I've always taught face-to-face. the only virtual teaching I have done is on the phone or Skype but to my students who I know well. I wish I had more time to devote to this.

This is another way for me to learn new words.

the part with your hUsband ....
Present Simple. Present Perfect (has read, has given), Past Simple (found out)
SO:
my hasband READS English literature very often and sometimes, when he COMES ACROSS something intersting and important, he GIVES me this material to read it.

Иска ми се да ви направя едно постче за някои глаголи като understand, find out, come across, discover, learn, hear....

I read recently British book for interviews

За словореда: I recently read а British book *or* I read a British book recently.

a book about something *or*, in this case, a book on interviews

and 'leave' was used there *or* the author used 'leave.'

You can leave your job, or you can quit your job - it's the same thing. You can also leave work, but that means that you are physically leaving your workplace (to go home, eat lunch or do something else). Finally, you can be on a leave. When you are on a leave (maternity leave, sick leave, a leave of absence, etc.), you are temporarily not going to work, but you still have your job.

Hi there,
Regarding "start working/begin working", I would probably use "start", and may even skip the "-ing" (correct me if I'm wrong  Rolling Eyes) - well, this might be changing the meaning, I guess...
start working - start the continueous action of working
start work - start a particular job, that needs to be done for a certain period. newsm78 ???

As for learning new words, I do it with practice, but I don't make any special efforts to remember everything.
Today's new word for me: A client asked me to prepare a ballpark estimate - meaning: a rough estimate.

ballpark estimate - A good one!

Hi, girls, it's been a lot of time since I last wrote a post here. Thank you Kalina for Verb paterns you shared with us. I admire your willingness to teach English even in the forum.
As for learning new English words I don't make it on purpose like I did it before. When I meet new word in any business letter or other text I just check it in SA dictionaire and try to remember its meaning and the spelling. Actually I don't learn many new words Embarassed But for me it's more important that I can use those I know at the right place.
Have a nice day! Peace

Simple Smile ?

Simple Smile
