[Dear all,
Regarding the problems we had with replications last month and the meeting that took place last week between K.. Ka... and L ..B..., I would like to ask you about the(? or a - зависи дали е една или няколко) procedure for changing/exchanging/substituting  MIS servers. We want to change the old MIS which we  have used for almost 4 years now. We need of bigger hard disks for DB mainly - on SAN, more memory for servers and bigger number of CPU's.
As you know Windows NT  4.0 cluster  with mssql 2000 cluster 4G memory does not support any kind of connection with newest version of mssql, locking single cell only or row, NT 4.0  is not fully compatible with software technologies that Microsoft uses in new SQL servers in version 2000 either(когато имаш потвърждение в отрицателно изречение "също не работи..." се използват either/neither). Number of replications that we need extends tasks on these machines. [/quote]

Simple Smile I'm right here! I get online almost every night once I've put Junior and Senior to bed.
I'm off to Belgium next week with some students from school. We are working very hard on our presentation for the meetings we'll be having there.

I guess for many of us springtime is not the right time to stay at a keyboard.
Anyway, I am here in case there are question sI could help with. Too bad I can rarely spend time chatting during the day (unless I'm on a sick leave, like today).

How are you all enjoying the spring?

Hi, girls, the springtime realy took me away from the keyboard. I often think about posting in English here but actually I start to wonder what exactly to say to you and how to formulate it and after that it comes the time to walk out with the baby or to wash the dishes... Rolling Eyes
Last week a great idea came to my mind - to go out with the baby at the noon when he usually has a nap and sitting on a bench to write down my thoughts in English or to read an English book. I couldn't realize it because last week something happened to me and I had sleeping disorder, I was very tired during the day and didn't want to go out even for walks.
Kali, I'll be glad if you find some free time to post some interesting grammar or exercises here.
I wish to all of you great moments on springtime!

Bubble !! Simple Smile Simple Smile Simple Smile

Just give me a hint what to write about and I will gladly do it.
If you wrote more I would be able spot some things we could brush up but when you don't say anything I could only be making wild guesses?!

Your idea about "bed (bench)-time" reading is great! Go for it !

Bulgaria is " her "
for ex. Bulgaria and HER people.
Моля за обяснение защо и в какви други случай неодушевените са с her and him ( cityes? )

That was a good one, X !

COUNTRIES are often referred to as "she"
ANIMALS (usually pets) when thought to have personality, emotions or intelligence are called "he" or "she" accordingly.
Some people use "she" when talking about  their CARS  (I don't!) Simple Smile

Something else people often wonder about is the gender of "anyone" or "someone". it is usually followed by "they".
If anybody wants to join us, they are welcome.
Note "anybody" is singular hence "wantS" but it is followed by "they" and a plural verb.

In poetry sometimes they talk about the sun as "he" and the moon as "she".

what else??
oh... individual members of a group...
if a parent wants to get some information about their child, he or she should call the principal of the school.

10x, Kalina! Hug
Following up the topic, I was wondering why an unborn baby whose gender isn't certain, is often reffered to as "she"? (they never use "it" - it is conidered disrespectful, I guess).

I suppose, it's up to the parents? Friends of mine didn't want to know the gender of their child. They agreed the mother always talks to the baby as "she", and the father as "he". I found it very very strange.

Иленка , kalina na kayo  Hug
also an english friend told me today that "It's a tough one because we don't really have 'gender' in the English language. For info, boats and ships are also always referred to as 'she' - I guess it's just one of the many bizarre bits of the usage of the language"

If you have noticed, Titanic is always "she "  Mr. Green

Оттам и space ship is "she" Simple Smile

Пояснявам с по-простата думичка - the silverware or just the silver? Викам му "the forks and the spoons and the knifes", а той "Why didn't you say so in the first place?!"

Embarassed )

Party
