BTS Jin - The Beginning of a New Journey
BTS has suspended the group's activities during military service in 2022. After a year and a half, Jin, who took the lead role in the new project, spoke about his current mood.  
BTS have been through a lot since their debut in 2013. They weren't immediately thrust into the spotlight, but all seven of them dedicated themselves to singing, dancing, and training hard.  
Eventually, they released a powerful album called Love Yourself, in which they expressed their true feelings. It instantly spread throughout the world. many young people suffer from a lack of self-esteem and self-doubt. How many people have been saved by the words “True love begins with self-love.” They sold out concerts all over the world, which led to the creation of a huge fan base called ARMY.  
There were times when it was difficult, but “we went through it with seven people,” Gene once said on stage, not hiding his tears. It is well known that they eventually became nominated for a Grammy Award with the song Dynamite. bTS has always been at the center of change, but in 2022 they will face an important stage - military service, where Jin, the oldest member of the group, will be the first to go. He was discharged on May 6 this year after one and a half years of service. and here he is, ahead of his younger brothers, again starting a busy career in show business.  
Bring mature charm to the new chapter  
Question: What have you felt and learned being part of an organization called the military, which is completely different from the entertainment industry?  
Jin: First of all, in terms of my physical fitness, I was in the top 20% of the group, although there were a lot of young people there. I'm not that good of an athlete, but I think that's because I've always been training and moving because of my job. I learned a lot, but when I saw an older man running 5 kilometers every day, I was inspired by his attitude of constantly striving to improve.  
Question: After leaving the army, you immediately went solo, writing new songs and appearing in various shows... You've been quite busy, but is there a difference in how you approach your activities as a member of a group and as a solo artist?  
Jin: In group activities, direction as a whole matters most, so it is extremely important for participants to coordinate their opinions towards achieving this goal.
To be honest, we often achieve better results than we expected. and above all, it is very encouraging to be together with other participants. On the other hand, working solo gives you a lot of freedom to do what you want to do, but it also comes with responsibility, which comes with a fair amount of pressure.  
Question: BTS are known as good friends. I think that while you are working in a team, sometimes it is difficult to maintain a good atmosphere. I'd love to hear some tips on how to keep communication so smooth.  
Jin: In our case, I think RM, the leader, plays a big role. he listens to all our opinions, then imagines the best way and guides us. He is reliable and trustworthy. Namjoon and I have our own goals, but we don't express them strongly in group activities, and we want to reflect them in our solo works.
Question: As an artist who creates music, performs, etc., what are your sources of inspiration and ideas?  
Jin: In my case it happens by accident. When I read the comic and thought: Oh, what a beautiful color, I immediately dyed my hair that color. When something interesting catches my attention, I wonder if I can use it to create something unexpected. I am often influenced by flowers. I especially like blue, and when I see it, bright ideas come to mind one after another. I also believe in feeling vibrant and happy in life. I want to smile every day.
Question: Perhaps in the future you will give solo concerts, but is there any ritual that you always observe before going on stage?  
Jin: I take a big, deep breath. Holding my breath for about 10 seconds and then exhaling calms me down. and I also have my special pink, shiny microphone. I like it and I always carry it with me.
Q: You toured overseas with BTS, gave a speech at the United Nations, and immediately after leaving the military you were a torchbearer in Paris. you always seem to overcome racial and language barriers and do so with confidence, yet appear very humble. How do you control your mental state?  
Jin: I try not to take things too seriously, whether good or bad. A lot of things happen in life, but I try to maintain composure as much as possible. I think that if you don't get too upset, you can always remain calm.
Question: I think there are a lot of people who are inspired by BTS's songs, performances, lifestyle, ideas. Do you have any advice, based on your own experience, for people who are currently losing their sense of direction, lacking confidence or motivation?  
Jin: I want to tell them, “You can do it.” I'm just an ordinary person and I don't think I have any special talents. I just worked hard at the role that was given to me. And I think I was able to achieve good results because I was lucky with really good people. I want to tell them: “Anyone can do this.”  
Q: BTS is also a voice for young people around the world. What message do you want to convey to the future?  
Jin: I want you to keep your peace of mind. Even when you are busy, don't lose sight of yourself and find a way to make yourself happy first. It's not selfish. at least that's what I want to do and I think I'll do.  
Question: Please tell us what you are striving for in the future.  
Jin: Others' opinions are not that important to me. My main goal is to please ARMYs and make them happy. to achieve this, I can work until exhaustion. I'll just keep going with Army.
Question: If you had the opportunity to visit Japan now, where would you like to go?
Jin: Hmm, I'd like to walk around the city with a beautiful night view.
Question: It's romantic, isn't it? well, after today's shoot, I'd like to ask Jin about his attitude towards fashion and his determination.
Jean: For me, the main thing in fashion is simplicity. I don't think it's difficult. This is what I'm wearing at the moment. This is my style.
Q: GQ Japan introduced the concept of Tokyo New Gentleman, which was an update on the existing image of the gentleman, beauty unfettered by rules. This is the image of a man with a sense of humor and ingenuity. I think BTS are the people who embody this image, but what do you think are the qualities a modern gentleman needs?
Jin: Well... it's great not to be bound by rules, but I think a true gentleman should also have basic manners. this includes internal qualities such as empathy and support for others. I believe that in order for everyone to enjoy each other's company, we need to cultivate both inner and outer beauty.
Genie on set was just like we know him to be, a friendly, kind, sincere and sweet person. What was different was that he exhibited a number of adult traits, including a pure sex appeal that he had never had before.
he lived in a dizzying world, and, undoubtedly, something had changed in him. He is now 31 years old. A new chapter in Jin's life has begun.
