Rolling Eyes

Simple Smile))

Скрит текст:
You probably need to watch this series with a naked brain by taking off your logic but here we go:

1) Recently, I notice what woman employees of Denizer holding wear in the holding. They usually wear skirt or trouser, jacket, and blouse. It seems that the holding has some kind of dress code. Elif is a designer. Therefore, it is very natural that she prefers casual dresses as an artist. I am not a conservative person at all; however, while employees of the holding wear formal things, I find it rather strange that Elif Denizer who should be an example for her workers as the owner of the company comes to the office with the shortest shorts possible. Either they should let her employees wear casual dresses, shorts, tank-tops, or flip-flops as Elif or they should change how Elif dresses in the office.

2) We have no objection of seeing beautiful and elegant Tuba Büyüküstün’s face covering almost half of the screen. However, Engin Akyurek is also very beautiful person and you can be sure that there are many people including me who want to see his face on the screen like that.

3) Metin’s love words which he utters implosively create such a contrast with his facial expression that I don’t know whether I should laugh or cry. The writers probably have an important mark to where Metin’s love takes the story. However, they don’t need to stick it into our eyes. Whole-fat Metin-Nilüfer love leaves a strange taste in our mouths; therefore, it is better if they switch to “light version” of this love.

4) I don’t know what to think about Levent at this point. Last season, I thought that he was a proud man. He was trying to turn a deaf ear to his inner voice which was trying to show him the right path. He seemed that he wasn’t an unreliable type who could easily accept the sneaky plan of the woman he was with. It was obvious that he was very annoyed about this situation in which he put himself. Or maybe, that’s my imagination since he gave me the impression of earnest and quality man because of his shares in the social media. I already told that I found him very sympathetic in my earlier commentaries. Anyways… In the last season, his function didn’t go beyond the help in making Omer and Elif’s epic love urgently end in the bed by arousing Omer’s jealousy. I believe that Levent character has a potential. In this episode, he did what I thought he should do in the first place and he left the house since he was too proud to be able to digest what happened so far. I hope they don’t waste this character as they wasted Taner by making him fall in love with Elif and by creating hostility between Omer and him even though it seems the scenario is going in that direction.

5) I still couldn’t get the point of intensive how-to-be-a-detective course given to Elif. While the experts of this field are spending years to become an expert, I applaud Elif since she was able to apprehend everything and was able to hit the bull’s eye during the first day of her gun training. I demand that the government should immediately close the police academies and open certificate courses instead since learning these skills are very easy. Why should we spend all this money on police academies, right? Meanwhile, while Omer was teaching Elif how to use a gun, he was beating himself up by saying “Elif, focus on! You can do it if you focus on!” Dear Omer… Have a heart! It is a miracle that Elif could remember what you told her without losing her mind, let alone to focus on, while feeling the warm breath of a dark handsome man like you against her neck.

6) If you remember Elif told Omer that she was very surprised that he knew a lot about the museums in Italy after the dinner at Tayyar’s house. And Omer angrily reminded her that he was a college graduate and made Elif ashamed about what she told. In this episode, after their dance over during the circumcision ceremony, Elif got even with him. Omer said “To my surprise, you are not disconnected from your people, Signorina.” And Elif’s response was “I grew up in this country, too, Captain. I mean, I am not estranged because my family is wealthy.” Even though I don’t believe that her words reflect Turkey’s reality, it was still the best answer Omer deserved.

7) Let’s continue with Elif again. Now we have a very humane woman who is brave, frank, persistent, kind but firm, and who could make someone eat crow if necessary. Furthermore, after off-loading the “Lie” burden on her shoulders, she became tastier. I like Elif. Last season, I complained that I couldn’t feel empathy for her as a woman because of her attitudes as if she was a high school girl madly in love. But, right now, the writers matured the character. Tuba Buyukustun beautifully plays the character. She is already very beautiful and sympathetic woman. And when you add her elegance and magnificently clear green eyes on top of that, the combination becomes very irresistible to watch.

Sunglasses However, I am not able to say the same thing for Omer. There is a clear deviation from the character portrayed in the beginning of the series. This time, Omer started acting immaturely. I can’t believe that a logical man like him who went through great suffering, who has witnessed unbelievable incidents and met very different people because of his profession, and who has a lot of integrity and high self-esteem can have jealousy trips like he had in this episode and 13th episode. Since I don’t believe this, I find Omer very irritating in these kinds of scenes. To me, Omer’s portrayal in the beginning of the series was perfect. I loved his sensuality that broke your heart, his humane side, his childish cunning side, and his passionate ways. The only thing missing was satisfactory introduction of the character and his inner world. When people started complaining about this, his heart-to-heart conversations with Arda helped in opening the doors to his inner world. I don’t understand why Omer has begun to turn into a rude and macho character just when we started seeing his inner world. Omer may not be rich. Omer may not live in a pretty neighborhood. But, he is a “college graduate” who has a “job”; that is he “improved” himself without forgetting where he came from. Please don’t be unfair to this character, most importantly, to Engin Akyurek. Believe me it is very painful for people who follow his acting career closely to see this character’s stumbling development while the writers are throwing his fans a couple of bones now and then. An actor gives life to his character up to one point. A writer makes character’s dough and gives its shape. To me, Omer is an intelligent and witty man who knows how to impress a woman by coming with a carefully thought gift to the office of the woman he loved; he is not a type of man who takes it on the bagel in his hand by biting it wildly and severely and grunting in jealousy. And I demand that he must stay that way if it is possible.

9) Even though I find it rather strange to see a woman, who lost her mother a couple of days ago and who has a sister who is about to lose her mind, to dance by forgetting everything (I gave up questioning these kinds of things last season; obviously, the writers live the life in light speed with the perception of “Yesterday is ashes”), the most impressive scene to me was the dance scene which many of us probably loved a lot. In one of my last season commentaries I wrote that it would be very nice to see Omer dancing with a folk music from Ankara region after seeing Elif’s ballet dancing. To be honest, I hadn’t imagined him dancing with Tuba Buyukustun and also with this kind of song on the background. I wish they chose a better Ankara folk song which would be identified with this scene and make it unforgettable. Omer and Elif is about to get lost in each other eyes, and then from the background you hear a man, implosively and with his tongue rolling in his mouth, screaming: “Brother! Life is like a rosary, you know”. Omer and Elif imagine themselves as groom and bride, and the same man screams “I've been cursing past and present…” I don’t know what the person who chose this song was thinking. I guess s/he is heartbroken and cursing her/his beloved’s past and present by singing this song. Such a tasteless choice for such a romantic scene. Anyways… This is not that important anymore; they wasted this beautiful scene… But the writers came up with such a beautiful scene that the chemistry between this great couple gushed out from TV screens. The scene is also very special to me since it took me back in time; maybe that’s why it is the scene that affected me the most. I fell in love only once in my life and I loved only one man. I mean I really loved... Very much. Looking into each other’s eyes and forgetting about all around us, the man I loved and I had danced with Ankara folk song named “Misket” on a summer night and set-up just like in this scene. It is such a strange feeling; first sounds turn into humming sound and scene around you starts fading. And then... Then complete silence... Everybody around you disappears; there are only you and your beloved in that crowd. It is as if you are in a vast space and you talk to each other with your eyes without uttering one single word. It is a moment you don’t want it to end. Until someone pulls you out of it. And it is impossible for me to forget the light emanating from his eyes because when he was happy, his eyes would shine as if someone turned on the lights in him. Therefore, even though some of our friends found the scene very cheesy and common, I loved every moment of this scene except for when they clumsily danced in their wedding attires. With his black shirt that accentuates his darkness and handsomeness, his single curl on his forehead, his smile that brings out the balls of his cheeks, and most importantly his piercing and passionate stares to his beloved, Engin Akyurek’s energy was unbelievable. Since the beginning of the series, the thing I wanted to see is that light which makes his gorgeous brown eyes most attractive eyes of the world. You feel as if something is missing when you don’t see that light in his eyes. I felt the same thing I felt when I saw his stares to Fatmagul when they first met each other on the stairs in “What is Fatmagul’s fault?” series. I don’t know you, but to me, it was a breathtaking, warm, wonderful and very sincere scene with its decor and actors despite that unpleasant song choice.

Thanks for your patience. *Simple Smile
